Size
Combining integrated microwave oven of a microwave oven with the flexibility of a wall oven with a built-in microwave and wall oven is a practical solution for kitchens with a variety of styles. Explore our range of wall ovens with combination microwaves to find the ideal solution for your home. Make sure to review the cutout specifications and the installation guide for the appliance you choose to ensure that it is suitable in your space. Our microwave & wall oven combos include both wall oven and microwave models that are available in a variety of styles, colors and finishes to complement any decor. Also, look for features such as modern and efficient digital controls, a power cook function and built in self-cleaning options that will help you reduce time.
Convenience
A built-in microwave oven combo can save space on your kitchen counters and give a stylish look to your space. Because it acts as a microwave and a traditional oven it is able to heat leftovers, frozen foods and meals that are pre-packaged in one appliance. It can eliminate the necessity of separate countertop appliances or bulky wall ovens. A combination microwave oven could also be a good option if you want to upgrade your kitchen without undergoing any major remodeling projects.
There are microwave ovens in various designs to fit your kitchen's decor. Some have a right-to-left swing-out door, while others have a drop-down design that opens in the same manner as an oven that is traditional. There is also microwave ovens with a drawer style that opens like a cabinet. The microwave drawers are easy to reach and are great for small spaces where you want to minimize the use of counter space.
Combination microwaves also come with a variety of features that can make meal preparation easier and more convenient. Certain models come with a sensor steam mode that adjusts the temperature and time of your food automatically to ensure you get perfect steamed fish and vegetables. Other features include a broil feature that lets you quickly melt cheese or cook your favorite food and Crispwave(tm) technology that lets you grill food items, bake and crisp them.
Consider how often you'll use each feature when choosing the microwave oven combination. If you'll be using the oven more often than the micro, you might be better off buying an extra wall oven. A combo appliance has a smaller capacity than an oven that is a standalone unit.
After you've chosen the right microwave and oven combination that meets your needs, it's time to think about the installation. Over-the-range models are mounted over your cooktop or stove and plug into an electrical outlet, while built-in microwaves are inserted directly into the cabinets or walls of your kitchen. Some models come with trim kits to make your microwave match your cabinets.
Energy Efficiency
A built in microwave oven combination can be an excellent space-saving option for those who have smaller kitchens, whether they are in a house or apartment. They can save the space in cabinets which would otherwise be taken by separate appliances, and also reduce energy consumption. They are more energy efficient than traditional wall-mounted ovens and provide a more efficient way to cook. They can also be used to cook food and warm meals. This eliminates the requirement for other appliances, such as toasters or warming plates.
When evaluating possible amendments to energy conservation standards, DOE conducts several analyses, including assessment of technology and market screening analysis, engineering analysis and a national impact analysis (NIA). In this SNOPR, DOE will use its existing engineering analysis on microwave ovens to determine what level of efficiency improvements are feasible for this product type.
In the engineering analysis, DOE will compare the design parameters of a microwave against a set of energy performance objectives. The engineering analysis will then determine the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible based on the most advanced microprocessor-controlled model available on the market or in working prototypes, or the maximum reduction in energy consumption that is technically achievable with the current technologies available for this product class.
As part of the NIA, DOE will evaluate the impact on consumers of each product category, including lifecycle cost savings as well as simple payback period ("PBP"). DOE will use the Government Regulatory Impact Model, with an adaptation for microwavable ovens to determine the industry's net present value (NPV).
integrated microwave oven will also assess the impacts on manufacturers, and will use a modified industry cash flow model that is adapted to this product type to calculate manufacturing NPV. DOE will also look at the impacts of these plans on small businesses and other manufacturing subgroups to determine those who could be most affected.
DOE will also consider whether the test procedure for microwave ovens has to be revised to include active mode power consumption and a possible integrated energy use metric. At present, the tests only provide standby mode power usage.
Design
Wall ovens depend on the circulating of hot air while microwaves rely on waves to cause the water molecules in food to vibrate and generate heat. Combination wall units blend these two appliances into a single unit, which is ideal for securing space in the kitchen while giving a modern, sleek look. However, you must carefully take into consideration your budget and goals before purchasing a combination wall oven. Some of the combination ovens we reviewed have design or performance issues.
