A partial least square discriminant analysis was performed to identify the variables that best discriminate lameness scores. Time spent grazing, grazing bout duration, duration before lying down in the pasture, time spent resting, number of resting bouts, distance travelled during grazing, and dispersion were the most discriminant variables in the PLS-DA (VIP > 1). Severely lame cows spent 4.5 times less time grazing and almost twice as much time resting as their sound congeners, especially in the lying position. Exploratory behaviour was also reduced for both moderately and severely lame cows, resulting in 1.2 and 1.7 times less distance travelled respectively, especially during grazing. These variables could be used as additional variables to improve the performance of existing lameness detection devices in pasture-based systems.The majority of pediatric burns in Mongolia occur within the home, particularly in the spaces dedicated to cooking. This makes home environment modification a priority for injury prevention. Many of these injuries are caused by electric appliances used in traditional tent-like dwellings (called a ger). In the present study, we designed and provided a context appropriate kitchen rack to 50 households with children aged 0-3 years living in gers and investigated parental views on the acceptability of the rack and willingness-to-pay (WTP) through face-to-face structured individual and group interviews and the contingent valuation method. We used the DCchoice package of R to estimate the median WTP and its 95% confidence interval by the household income, previous experience of childhood burn injury, and the number of children in the household. There was a total of 89 children aged less then 5 years in the 50 households, with a total of 59 burn experiences since birth including 29 treated at inpatient facilities. The median WTP was MNT 106,000 (about USD 37). The WTP appeared to be higher for the households with a higher income, more severe child burn experiences, and a greater number of children in the household. In the group interviews conducted after 4-6 weeks of routine use, the participants indicated that the use of the rack had resulted in a less stressful cooking environment, and the kitchen rack was described as a positive contribution to the reduction of risk to their young children. Whilst there were some suggestions for minor modifications, the rack was well accepted as a means of child burn prevention by the parents of infants and toddlers in Mongolia.
Severe burn injuries are associated with high morbidity and mortality. Well-implemented scoring systems for patients with major burns exist in the literature. A major disadvantage of these scores is the partial non-consideration of patient-related comorbidities. Published data on this matter is limited to small study cohorts and/or single center studies. Further, the effect of comorbidities on clinical outcome of patients with severe burn injuries has not yet been examined nationwide in a large cohort in Germany. Hence, the aim of this study was to examine the influence of comorbidities on clinical outcome of these patients based on data from the national registry.

The aim of the present review was to bring together data from different articles describing the levels of antimicrobial resistance in the most common gastrointestinal infections reported across the globe. The literature search was carried out in Google Scholar, Medline, Embase, and Pubmed, with the terms "antimicrobial resistance", "resistance in gastrointestinal disorders", and "resistance in amoebiasis", in Spanish and English. Mexican treatment guidelines and consensuses from 2017 to the present were utilized. Publications from the last ten years were chosen to describe the level of resistance. They had adequate sample sizes, the Material and Methods sections were precise, and they included multicenter studies, national and international consensuses, meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and extensive texts. The final number of articles was 51. The microorganisms that demonstrated the highest percentage of resistance were Helicobacter pylori (metronidazole 50%-80%, clarithromycin 20%-40%, and levofloxacin 30%-35%), Clostridioides difficile (clindamycin 8.3%-100%, cephalosporines 51%), Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli (fluoroquinolones 85%), Escherichia coli (ampicillin 76.5%), Entamoeba histolytica (metronidazole 50%), and bacterial peritonitis (third-generation cephalosporines 40%, methicillin 85%). Antimicrobial resistance is reaching elevated percentages, making it necessary to evaluate the situation of each patient, to successfully treat gastrointestinal infections.
