This is the first report of catastrophic failure of an oxidized zirconium total knee arthroplasty implant.
Positron emission tomography using the [18F] fluoride metabolite combined with computerized tomography (F-PET/CT) can be used to analyze the metabolic status of the periprosthetic bone after surgery for total hip arthroplasty.
To obtain normal PET referent values, 44 patients with 5 models of well-functioning hip prosthetic components were analyzed by F-PET/CT, radiography, and clinical score. Another group of patients having painful total hip arthroplasty, but whose radiography showed no conclusive signs of loosening, was analyzed by F-PET/CT scans before revision surgery.
Preoperative median F-PET scores of the bone metabolic activity were 6.65 (3.3-9.0) for the painful stem group and 1.85 (1.2-3.9) (
< .01) for the referent group having the same stem model. At revision surgery, the stems in the painful group were assessed to be loose. At 2-year follow-up, the revised patients were all pain free.

During the generation of this dataset, the perimeter and the position of each shape are selected randomly and independently for each image. The rotation angle of each shape is chosen randomly for each image within an interval between -180° and 180°, as well as the background colour of each image and the filling colour of each shape are selected randomly and independently. YC-1 The published dataset is composed of 9 classes of data, and each class represent a type of geometric shape (Triangle, Square, Pentagon, Hexagon, Heptagon, Octagon, Nonagon, Circle and Star). Each class is composed of 10k generated images. This paper also includes a GitHub URL to the generator source code used for the generation, which can be reused to generate any desired size of data. One of the ways to minimize fuel consumption and upgrade the performance of a Rankine cycle is by incorporating closed feedwater heaters(FWHs). The datasets contained in this paper are thermodynamic performance analysis carried out on reheat - regenerative steam power plant with FWHs using CyclePad V2.0 software. The thermodynamic performance indices assessed are thermal efficiency, network output, heat rate, fuel consumption, boiler efficiency and specific steam consumption. Result obtained show that an increase in the number of FWHs decreases the fuel consumption, heat rate, heat rejected in condenser and heat input to the cycle. This effect invariably can lead to a reduction in operating cost and environmental impacts.Animal modelling for infectious diseases is critical to understand the biology of the pathogens including viruses and to develop therapeutic strategies against it. Herein, we present the sequence homology and expression data analysis of proteins found in Drosophila melanogaster that are orthologous to human proteins, reported as components of SARS-CoV-2/Human interactome. The dataset enlists sequence homology, query coverage, domain conservation, OrthoMCL and Ensembl Genome Browser support of 326 proteins in D.melanogaster that are potentially orthologous to 417 human proteins reported for their direct physical interactions with 28 proteins encoded by SARS-CoV-2 genome. Expression of these D.melanogaster orthologous genes in 26 anatomical positions are also plotted as heat maps in 27 sets, corresponding to the potential protein interactors for each viral protein. The data could be used to direct experiments and potentially predict their phenotypic and molecular outcome in order to dissect the biological roles and molecular functionality of SARS-CoV-2 proteins in a convenient animal model system like D.melanogaster.
