Further efforts to systematize the management of children on ZA are needed.In 1864, the worldwide oldest journal in an area of the later established specialty of otorhinolaryngology was founded as the German Archiv für Ohrenheilkunde ("Archive of Otology") by its first editors Anton von Tröltsch (Würzburg), Adam Politzer (Vienna), and Hermann Schwartze (Halle/S.). Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) topics had previously been published in universal medical journals. In the next few decades, numerous journals in the field of ENT were founded, the eventful history of which is presented up to the present day. Particular attention is paid to the historical and personal context of the editors of newly founded magazines and their publishers. Cells of strain S2T were strictly aerobic, Gram-stain-negative, motile with single polar flagellum, rod-shaped, oxidase and catalase-negative. Growth occurs at 10-37 °C (optimum, 28 °C), pH 5.0-9.0 (optimum, pH 6.5-7.0) and 0-3% NaCl (w/v). Strain S2T consisted of summed feature 3 (iso-C150 2-OH and/or C161 ω7c), C160 and summed feature 8 (C181 ω7c and/or C181 ω6c) as major fatty acids. The sole respiratory quinone was Q-8. The polar lipid profile consisted of phosphatidylethanolamine and an unidentified lipid. The 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that strain S2T is phylogenetically closest to Aquabacterium pictum W35T (98.4% sequence similarity). The genome of strain S2T was 8,039,486 bp with 56 scaffolds. The genome consisted of 10 putative biosynthetic gene clusters that are responsible for various secondary metabolites. Genomic DNA G + C content of strain S2T was 69.4%. The average nucleotide identity and in silico DNA-DNA hybridization values between strain S2T and phylogenetically related taxa were ≤ 77.9 and ≤ 21.4%, and respectively. The results of genotypic and phenotypic data showed that strain S2T could be distinguished from its phylogenetically related species and represents a novel species in the genus Aquabacterium, for which the name Aquabacterium terrae sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is S2T (= KCTC 72741 T = NBRC 114609 T).The aim of this study was to investigate the lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and yeast community from home-made sauerkraut collected from Southwest China through culture-dependent and culture-independent technology. Forty-eight samples of home-made sauerkraut were collected from households at three different locations in Southwest China. The pH, total acidity and salt contents among these fermented vegetables were 3.69 ± 0.42, 0.86 ± 0.43 g/100 ml, and 3.86 ± 2.55 g/100 ml, respectively. The number of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and yeasts were 7.25 ± 1.05 log10 colony-forming units (CFU)/ml and 3.74 ± 1.01 log CFU/ml, respectively. A total of 182 LAB and 81 yeast isolates were identified. The dominant isolates were Lactobacillus plantarum, L. brevis, Pediococcus ethanolidurans, Pichia membranifaciens, P. fermentans and Kazachstania bulderi. Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) showed that L. EGFR inhibitor plantarum, uncultured Lactobacillus sp, P. ethanolidurans, and K. exigua were the predominant microflora. Our studies demonstrated that the DGGE technique combined with a culture-dependent method is very effective for studying the LAB and yeast community in Chinese traditional fermentation vegetables. The results will give us an understanding of LAB and yeast community of Chinese sauerkraut and improve the knowledge of LAB and yeast community of Chinese sauerkraut.
