but they were high when inappropriate ventilation methods were used. Therefore, using appropriate ventilation conditions is effective in reducing PM10 and PM2.5 generated during cooking.
The objective of this study was to determine spectrum and prevalence of germline mutations in TP53 gene among Polish women with early-onset breast cancer (BC), which has not been determined until now.

A cohort of 100 females with BC diagnosed ≤ 30years of age and with a positive family history of cancer was used as a discovery cohort. 1880 women with BC ≤ 45years old and a control group of 2000 healthy women were genotyped as a replication phase of this study.

Four heterozygous pathogenic missense mutations were detected in a group of 100 patients with early-onset breast cancer. On the basis of software prediction and available literature data, all these variants were defined as pathogenic. None of these TP53 variants were detected among 1880 breast cancer patients and 2000 healthy controls. No large mutations were found among early-onset cases using MLPA reaction.

Germline pathogenic TP53 variants were found in 4% early-onset Polish BC patients. No founder mutations were identified in Polish population. To improve the treatment and surveillance screening, the search for germline TP53 pathogenic variants is recommended for all female BC cases diagnosed ≤ 30years old.

The efficacy of such a fully online learning environment, however, remains unknown. To investigate its impact on medical education, this study surveyed hematology/oncology fellows at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center on their attitudes regarding the online-based lecture program. Fellows were emailed a 19-question survey with questions on demographics, ease of technical access to the online platform, level of comfort with participation, knowledge acquisition, wellness, and COVID-19-specific coverage. A free-text question soliciting ways to improve upon online learning was also included. The response rate was 71% (30/42). Most respondents reported easy/very easy accessibility to the online environment. Seventy-seven percent of the participants did not experience a technical issue. Seventy percent felt comfortableth receiving these lectures in-person during the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, most fellows felt comfortable with the transition to a fully online learning environment. Strategies to encourage active participation, enhance social interaction, and provide additional flexibility are still needed.n-Butanol is a renewable resource with a wide range of applications. Its physicochemical properties make it a potential substitute for gasoline. SB203580 Saccharomyces cerevisiae can produce n-butanol via amino acid catabolic pathways, but the use of pure amino acids is economically unfeasible for large-scale production. The aim of this study was to optimize the production of n-butanol by S. cerevisiae from protein-rich agro-industrial by-products (sunflower and poultry offal meals). By-products were characterized according to their total protein and free amino acid contents and subjected to enzymatic hydrolysis. Protein hydrolysates were used as nitrogen sources for the production of n-butanol by S. cerevisiae, but only poultry offal meal hydrolysate (POMH) afforded detectable levels of n-butanol. Under optimized conditions (carbon/nitrogen ratio of 2 and working volume of 60%), 59.94 mg/L of n-butanol was produced using POMH and glucose as substrates. The low-cost agro-industrial by-product showed great potential to be used in the production of n-butanol by S. cerevisiae. Other protein-rich residues may also find application in biofuel production by yeasts.
The internal mammary artery (IMA) has supplanted the thoracodorsal artery as the primary recipient vessel in autologous breast reconstruction. Additionally, the IMA continues to be the preferred bypass graft choice in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). However, practice patterns in breast reconstruction have evolved considerably since the adoption of the IMA for this application. The authors sought to evaluate the safety of IMA harvest for breast reconstruction in our current practice, given the possibility that patients may require CABG in the future.

The authors reviewed the prospective database of free flaps for breast reconstruction performed at their center from 2009 to 2017. Patients were divided into three groups (2009-2011, 2011-2013, 2014-2017) and compared on the basis of demographics, medical comorbidities, and laterality of reconstruction. Patients were further risk stratified for 10-year risk of cardiovascular events using the American College of Cardiology's atheroscnd risk stratification of all patients using the proposed Breast Reconstruction Internal Mammary Assessment (BRIMA) scoring system and consideration of left internal mammary artery preservation in select cases.
Given overall trends in breast reconstruction and the sometimes-elevated cardiac risk profiles of our patients, the authors recommend risk stratification of all patients using the proposed Breast Reconstruction Internal Mammary Assessment (BRIMA) scoring system and consideration of left internal mammary artery preservation in select cases.
New biomarkers are emerging to predict recurrence risk in women with early-stage breast cancer. High Oncotype DX Recurrence Score® (RS) is associated with worse disease-free and overall survival. Similarly, circulating tumor cells (CTCs, blood) and disseminated tumor cells (DTCs, bone marrow) have prognostic value in breast cancer. We investigated the association between high RS and CTCs or DTCs.

Using a prospective database, we evaluated patients with hormone receptor-positive/HER2-negative, node-negative invasive breast cancer from 1/2005 to 1/2017. RS was classified using TAILORx study cutoff points low (< 11), intermediate (11-25), and high (> 25). CTCs were assessed using CellSearch® and DTCs using cytospin specimens of bone marrow aspirates. Positive result was defined as one or more CTCs or DTCs identified. Chi-square analyses were utilized to evaluate the relationship between RS and CTCs or DTCs.

233 patients were identified from a prospective database, of which 96 had RS results. Of these patients, 88 had CTC results and 58 had DTC results.
