Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common malignant tumor globally. Meanwhile, LINC01116 has been proposed as risk factor for various tumors, including CRC. But the regulation of LINC01116 in CRC required more validated data. CTx-648 This study aimed to elucidate the potential function of LINC01116 in regulating cell proliferation and angiogenesis of CRC.

LINC01116 expression in 80 pairs of CRC tumor and adjacent non-tumor tissues was determined by qRT-PCR. After transfection of pcDNA3.1-LINC01116, sh-LINC01116, sh-TPM1, pcDNA3.1-EZH2 or sh-EZH2 in SW480 and HCT116 cells, the levels of LINC01116, TPM1 and EZH2 were measured by qRT-PCR or Western blot. The cell biological function of CRC cell lines was determined by CCK-8, colony formation assays, tube formation and scratch assays. RNA pull-down and RIP assays were applied to detect the binding of LINC01116 with EZH2 and H3K27me3. Binding of EZH2 to the TPM1 promoter was assessed by ChIP assay. Finally, xenograft models in nude mice were established to validate the results of in vitro experiments.

LINC01116 was overexpressed in CRC tissues and high expression of LINC01116 was negatively correlated with postoperative survival. In vitro study showed LINC01116 expression could significantly enhance CRC progression, including increasing cell proliferation, migration and angiogenesis. Besides, investigations into the mechanism disclosed that LINC01116 could regulate EZH2 to inactivate TPM1 promoter, thus promoting CRC cell proliferation and angiogenesis. Moreover, consistent results of in vivo experiments were conformed in vitro experiments.

LINC01116 promotes the proliferation and angiogenesis of CRC cells by recruiting EZH2 to potentiate methylation in the TPM1 promoter region to inhibit the transcription of TPM1.

Open air markets hold an important position for ethnobiologists. In Southeast Asia, they are seriously understudied, in spite of their incredible biocultural diversity. In order to fill this gap we recorded plants and fungi sold in the open air markets of Luang Prabang, Lao PDR.

The markets were visited 38 times in four seasons the dry season, early monsoon, mid-monsoon, and end-of-monsoon, at least 8 times per season. All items were photographed and voucher specimens were collected. Fungi were identified using DNA barcoding techniques.

We recorded 110 species of wild edible plants and 54 species of fungi, including 49 wild-collected species. The sold plants included 86 species of green vegetables, 18 species of fruits and 3 species of flowers. Products from woody species constitute around half of all taxa sold. These include the young shoots of tree leaves, which are used for salads-an interesting feature of Lao cuisine. A large number of extremely rare Russula, with no reference sequences represented large number of living species with very diverse flora and fauna. Measures should be taken to strike a balance between local foraging traditions and nature conservation priorities.
Globally, mobile learning (mLearning) tools have attracted considerable attention as a means of continuous training for healthcare workers. Rwanda like other low-resource settings with scarce in-service training opportunities requires innovative approaches that adapt technology to context to improve healthcare workers' knowledge and skills. One such innovation is the safe delivery application (SDA), a smartphone mLearning application for Basic Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (BEmONC) content. This study assessed the effect of the SDA intervention on nurses' and midwives' knowledge and skills for the management of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and neonatal resuscitation (NR).

The study used a pre-post test design to compare knowledge and skills of nurses and midwives in the management of PPH and NR at two measurement points immediately prior to SDA intervention and after 6months of SDA intervention. The intervention took place in two district hospitals in Rwanda and included 54 participants. A paired-s PPH and NR as long as 6months after SDA introduction. The results are highly relevant in low-income countries like Rwanda, where quality of delivery care is challenged by a lack of in-service continuous training for healthcare providers.

The indication for prescribing a particular medication, or its reason for use (RFU) is a crucial piece of information for all those involved in the circle of care. Research has shown that sharing RFU information with physicians, pharmacists and patients improves patient safety and patient adherence, however RFU is rarely added on prescriptions by prescribers or on medication labels for patients to reference.

Qualitative interviews were conducted with 20 prescribers in Southern Ontario, Canada, to learn prescribers' current attitudes on the addition of RFU on prescriptions and medication labels. A trained interviewer used a semi-structured interview guide for each interview. The interviews explored how the sharing of RFU information would impact prescribers' workflows and practices. Interviews were recorded, transcribed and thematically coded.

The analysis yielded four main themes Current Practice, Future Practice, Changing Culture, and Collaboration. Most of the prescribers interviewed do not currently ists and patients if added. Critically, they also identified benefits to their own practices. These results can be used to guide the implementation of future initiatives to promote the sharing of RFU in healthcare teams.
Non-communicable diseases are leading causes of death and disability across the world. Countries with the highest non-communicable disease (NCD) burden in the WHO European Region are often those that have some of the greatest health system challenges for achieving good outcomes in prevention and care. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of an interprofessional capacity building intervention carried out in Ukraine to improve the management non-communicable diseases in primary health care.

A mixed-methods evaluation study was performed in 2018 to analyse the effect of a capacity building intervention carried out for over 10,000 primary care professionals in Ukraine in 2018. Quantitative data were collected from primary health care records of intervention and control areas preceding the intervention and 1.5 to 2 years after the intervention. Altogether 2798 patient records before and 2795 after the intervention were reviewed. In control areas, 1202 patient records were reviewed. Qualitative data were collected carrying out focus group interviews for health professionals, clinic managers and patients.
