E-cigarette smoking (ECS) is a new method of tobacco smoking that is gaining popularity as it is thought to be a "healthy method" of tobacco consumption. Nevertheless, the effect of e-cigarette liquid (ECL) on the early stage of embryogenesis and angiogenesis has not been explored yet. Chicken embryo at 3 days of incubation and its chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) of 5 days were used to explore the outcome of ECL on the embryo. Real-time PCR was also employed to study the regulation of a set of key controller genes of embryogenesis as well as angiogenesis. Our study revealed that ECL exposure is associated with a high rate of mortality in embryos as around 70% of treated embryos, at 3 days of incubation, die after 5 days of exposure. Additionally, ECL inhibits angiogenesis of the CAM of 5 days of incubation by more than 30%. These effects could be explained by the upregulation of ATF-3, FOXA2, INHBA, MAPRE-2, and RIPK-1, as well as the downregulation of SERPINA-4 and VEGF-C genes, which are important key controller genes of embryogenesis as well as angiogenesis. Our data suggest clearly that ECS can have dramatic toxic outcomes on the early stage of embryogenesis as well as angiogenesis. The calculated activation energy was 21.6 kJ.mol-1, which can be considered a low value in evaluation with those of the reported OER electrocatalysts. The Sr2PdO3 perovskite portrayed a high catalyst stability without any probability of catalyst poisoning. The study aimed to find a relationship between nurses' perceptions of their professional practice environment and missed nursing care and job satisfaction. An additional aim was to find differences in nurses' perceived rating of the professional practice environment according to hospital location and job position. A descriptive correlational study was performed. The sample included 513 general and practical nurses providing direct care in nine Czech hospitals. The Revised Professional Practice Environment scale and the Missed Nursing Care (MISSCARE) survey were used to collect data. The professional practice environment was most correlated with satisfaction with the current position (0.4879). The overall score of missed care correlated most strongly with the subscale "staff relationships" (-0.2774). Statistically significant differences in the rating of two subscales, "control over practice" and "cultural sensitivity", were found between nurses from hospitals in district capitals and those from hospitals in smaller cities. Statistically significant differences in the rating of the "leadership and autonomy in clinical practice" and "teamwork" subscales were found between general nurses and practical nurses. The professional practice environment is related to nurse satisfaction and missed nursing care.The TGF-β type III receptor (TGFBR3) is an essential constituent of the TGF-β signaling. In this study, we observed a down-regulation of TGFBR3 in oral cancer, a subtype of head and neck cancer (HNC), and patients with low TGFBR3 had poor clinical outcomes. Ectopic expression of TGFBR3 decreased migration and invasion of oral cancer cells and lymph node metastasis of tumors, whereas depletion of TGFBR3 had the opposite effect. In summary, we conclude that TGFBR3 is as a tumor suppressor via SMAD4-dependent and -independent manner in both tumor and stromal cells during oral carcinogenesis. In addition to microcephaly and other malformations, some specific lesions in the central nervous system have been reported. The aim of this systematic review was to determine the risk of developing microcephaly in infants whose mothers were infected with Zika virus in pregnancy. Epidemiological studies and case reports were incorporated in our review, finally including 15 articles from an initial pool of 355 related papers. Most studies have linked maternal infection during pregnancy to the development of neonatal microcephaly. The period considered most dangerous is the first trimester and the beginning or the whole of the second trimester.
