Method This article describes individual barriers to treatment which pertain to literacy and attitudes, with contextualization of the social milieu concept. It gives a narrative review of the literature (PubMed, PsycINFO, Google Scholar) relating to the associations of different social milieu dimensions (e.g. sociodemographics, values, place of residence, ethnicity) with stigmatizing attitudes and utilization of psychiatric treatment options. Results Sociodemographically, lower educational attainment and male gender are often associated with psychiatric undertreatment and prevailing stigmatizing attitudes towards mental illness and its treatment. Simple sociodemographic parameters alone appear to be insufficient for predicting stigma and undertreatment. Stigmatizing attitudes and mental health literacy constitute important individual barriers to treatment. These sociodemographic and individual aspects can culminate in certain social milieus. This could allow the identification of specific target groups and communication requirements for interventions. Conclusion The concept of the social milieu constitutes a potentially important and so far barely used intersection between sociology and medicine. Against the backdrop of rising public polarization and social inequality, the concept could contribute to achieving a better understanding of the stigma of mental illness. It appears to be of relevance in a number of ways for secondary and tertiary preventive considerations regarding the treatment gap in mental healthcare.Myricetin belongs to the flavonoid family which is derived from plant source. It is well-known for the anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties yet the clinical use of myricetin awaits further discovery. Acute lung injury (ALI) is commonly caused by sepsis which leads to enormous burden with high morbidity and mortality. In this study, a murine sepsis model was constructed by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP). The indicated dose of myricetin (100 mg/kg) was further administrated intragastrically. The survival rate test indicated that myricetin significantly improved the vitality of CLP-operated mice. The pathological changes in morphology, biomarkers of inflammatory response, oxidative stress response, and mitochondrial damage were further detected. Myricetin showed significant inhibitory effects on these changes in CLP-induced mice. Furthermore, expression levels of transcription factor Nrf2 and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) along with DNA binding activity of Nrf2 were analyzed by western blot and EMSA, indicating that myricetin positively regulates the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway in CLP-induced sepsis mice. Murine sepsis models with knockdown of Nrf2 and control were further established and suggested that myricetin might exert protective effects on sepsis lung injury in dependent with Nrf2. Our study provides novel mechanisms for the protective effect of myricetin in sepsis-associated acute lung injury.Cancer is a worldwide disease that causes millions of cases of mortality and morbidity. The major problem associated with the cancer is its resistance to conventional therapy and a high relapse rate. The use of chemotherapy to treat cancer began at the start of the twentieth century with attempts to control cancer. In time advance, many cancer chemotherapeutic agents have been developed for cancer treatment with different mechanisms of action including the alkylating agents, antimetabolites, antimicrotubule, topoisomerase inhibitors, and cytotoxic antibiotics, all of which have toxic effects toward normal cells in the body. Here, we reviewed chemotherapeutics' anticancer role potentiation and safety by thymoquinone (TQ) alone or in combination with the most common therapeutic drugs. Our search was done through PubMed, Science Direct, Springer Link, Taylor & Francis Online, Wiley Online Library, Nature publication group, SAGE Journals, and Web of Science databases. We recognized that TQ-chemotherapeutics combination increased chemo-modulation to the anticancer effect of different chemotherapeutics and protected the normal body cells from the toxic injuries that are induced by chemotherapeutics based on its antioxidant power. Moreover, the current study investigates the possible combinatory effect of TQ and chemotherapeutics to control cancer stem cells through molecular docking targeting of wingless/integrated (Wnt) and Hedgehog (Hh). We found that TQ modulates the Wnt and Hh pathways, by binding with tankyrase-2 and smoothened 7TM receptor, respectively, more efficiently than most chemotherapeutics drugs, while methotrexate showed high-binding affinity compared with TQ. Most of the patients are in reproductive age and many want future pregnancy. In this study, we will assess fertility, pregnancy and its outcomes in patients who have undergone UAE. In this systematic review, a systematic search was performed on important databases including PubMed and Medline, Web of Knowledge, Google Scholar, EMBASE and Scopus. Studies reported enough data about pregnancy after UAE were considered to be enrolled in the review. We assessed obstetric indices (pregnancy and delivery rates, pregnancy losses, complications and fetal outcomes). Study evaluation was done based on STROBE checklist by two reviewers. Totally, 24 original papers were included. Data were analyzed by Stata and MedCalc softwares. Among women wishing fertility, totally 40.5% experienced at least one pregnancy after UAE (95% confidence interval [CI] 33.3%-48.2%). Pooled estimate of pregnancy loss rate was 33.5% (95% CI 26.3-41%).
