miR-767-5p was demonstrated to target circ_0005556 in GC cells, and a negative correlation was found between their expression levels in GC tissues. Knockdown of circ_0005556 promoted miR-767-5p expression in GC cells. Knockdown of circ_0005556 was revealed to repress GC cell viability, invasion, and migration and to promote GC cell apoptosis. Moreover, overexpression of miR-767-5p could significantly augment the repressive impacts of circ_0005556 knockdown on GC cell progression in vitro. CONCLUSIONS The in vitro knockdown of circ_0005556 remarkably repressed GC cell progression by increasing the expression of miR-767-5p.Proper understanding the 'Instructions to authors' for a particular journal is the key towards successful submission of a manuscript which will lead to it being published. Common errors that are frequently made by authors in their submission to the Malaysia Journal of Malaysia (MJM) that lead to rejection of their submission or requiring major revisions or minor revisions are listed and discussed in this article. Outright rejection prior to even a peer review process may be made for an article due to it is poorly written or when there is suspicion on the authenticity of the submission, which contains elements that are suspected to be plagiarised, it is a duplicate submission or not in the format required by the MJM. The editor in charge of the issue makes a recommendation to the Editor in Chief for the final decision.
The present study was to investigate the influence of induction therapy on robot-assisted McKeown esophagectomy (RAME) with radical superior mediastinal lymph node dissection for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma in a high-volume cancer center.

A consecutive patient cohort who underwent RAME from January 2017 to May 2019 were reviewed. The perioperative outcomes of patients with induction therapy were compared with those who had surgery alone.

In total, 118 patients underwent RAME during the study period. The average age was 59.1 ± 7.5 years, including 100 male and 18 female patients. Thirty patients (25.4%) had induction therapy, and 88 patients did not receive induction therapy. The average age of the patients treated with induction therapy was younger than those received surgery alone (56.8 ± 6.1 vs. 59.5 ± 7.6 years, p = 0.039). There were no statistically significant differences in the mean operative time and estimated blood loss between both groups. Complications occurred in 46 (39.0%) patients. There were no statistically significant differences in the rates of any complications between both groups (p = 0.951). There were no deaths in either group. The hospital stay was prolonged in patients with induction therapy than those in the surgery-alone group (20.8 ± 8.9 vs. 16.8 ± 6.0, p = 0.048). There was no statistically significant difference in the average number of dissected lymph nodes in total and both recurrent laryngeal nerve stations between both groups.

For patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, induction therapy has no influence on RAME with radical superior mediastinal lymph node dissection.
For patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, induction therapy has no influence on RAME with radical superior mediastinal lymph node dissection.
To review published studies related to the association of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections with pregnancy, foetal, and neonatal outcomes during coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in a systematic manner.

A comprehensive electronic search was done through PubMed, Scopus, Medline, Cochrane database, and Google Scholar from December 01, 2019, to May 22, 2020, along with the reference list of all included studies. All cohort studies that reported on outcomes of COVID-19 during pregnancy were included. YUM70 clinical trial Qualitative assessment of included studies was performed using the Newcastle-Ottawa scale.

Upon admission, most pregnant women underwent a low-dose radiation CT scan; the reports of which included unilateral/bilateral pneumonia in most patients. A marked lymphopenia was also noted in many patients with COVID-19. 513 titles were screened, and 22 studies were included, which identified 156 pregnant women with COVID-19 and 108 neonatal outcomes. The most common matey of inconsistent data regarding the impact of COVID-19 on the newborn, caution should be undertaken to further investigate and monitor possible infection in the neonates born to COVID-19-infected mothers. The errors in the following list appeared in the article entitled "Differential Atrial Pacing to Detect Reconnection Gaps After Pulmonary Vein Isolation in Atrial Fibrillation" by Mai Tahara, Ritsushi Kato, Yoshifumi Ikeda, Koji Goto, So Asano, Hitoshi Mori, Shiro Iwanaga, Toshihiro Muramatsu, and Kazuo Matsumoto (Vol. 61, No. 3, 503-509, 2020).Protein-losing enteropathy (PLE) is one of the major complications after a Fontan operation. Some PLE patients suffer from concurrent gastrointestinal bleeding. An effective treatment regimen for such patients has not been established yet. Further, it remains unknown whether PLE and gastrointestinal bleeding coexist independently, or protein losing is associated with gastrointestinal bleeding. We report a 7-year-old steroid-refractory post-Fontan PLE case suggesting the latter pathogenesis together with a literature review.Right ventricular (RV) dysfunction may occur after cardiac surgery and it is not rare after corrective repair of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). If traditional treatments with volume management, infusion of inotropic agents, and use of pulmonary vasodilators cannot stabilize the patient, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) or a ventricular assist device (VAD) will be considered as the last resort. Here, we report a young infant patient with RV failure after corrective repair of TOF and without closure of an atrial septal defect (ASD), who was rescued by veno-venous (VV) -ECMO.Ventricular septal rupture (VSR) is one of the fatal complications of myocardial infarction in the percutaneous coronary intervention era. A rapid diagnosis, medical and mechanical support, and surgical intervention are required for recovery and survival. In such a situation, the risk of complications associated with surgery is very high, especially in very elderly patients, in which any therapeutic strategy should be carefully discussed by the heart team. Herein, we describe two cases of VSRs after recent myocardial infarction (RMI) in very elderly patients that required debate regarding whether to perform surgery. The patients included a 93-year-old man and 89-year-old man, both of which were not highly frail before the RMI occurred. In the former case, a conservative strategy was adopted because the risk of surgery was considered, but he did not survive. On the other hand, the latter patient underwent surgery and his life was ultimately saved. Based on these two cases, we concluded that even if the patients are very old, if possible, surgical intervention should be fully considered.
