The general route with great kinetic management into a group of penta-twinned platinum nanocrystals.
Correction for 'Single atomic Fe-N4 active sites and neighboring graphitic nitrogen for efficient and stable electrochemical CO2 reduction' by Leta Takele Menisa et al., Nanoscale Horiz., 2022, https//doi.org/10.1039/D2NH00143H.An optical pH probe is a simple and effective tool for determining an accurate pH value in its localized area. However, basic pH probes with pKBH+ values above 8 have rarely been reported, although many components with high pKa such as arginine play important roles in vivo. Herein, we introduce novel colorimetric and fluorescent basic probes 1-5, which are designed using push-pull-type aminoquinoline and aminobenzoquinoline fluorophores, with pKBH+ values ranging from 8.4 to 9.9. After the basicity of the remarkably sensitive basic probe 4 was tuned, it was able to successfully distinguish between the pKa values of MeOH (15.5) and EtOH (15.9), thus displaying selective protonation and fluorescence enhancement in MeOH over EtOH. Our pH probes can be used to detect MeOH poisoning in commercial EtOH products such as hand sanitizers, providing an effective solution to this problem observed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This review systematically evaluates the evidence related to comparisons between skeletal and conventional anchorage protocols in the treatment of bimaxillary proclination patients who underwent premolars extraction with respect to soft tissue profile changes, treatment duration and three-dimensional (3D) soft tissue changes.

Electronic database search and hand search with no language limitations were conducted in the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Ovid, Web of Science, Scopus and ClinicalTrials.gov. The selection criteria were set to include studies with patients aged 13years and above requiring extractions of upper and lower first premolars to treat bimaxillary proclination with high anchorage demand. Risk of bias assessment was undertaken with Cochrane's Risk Of Bias tool 2.0 (ROB 2.0) for randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and ROBINS‑I tool for nonrandomised prospective studies. The Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) approach was used for quality assessment. check details Results were summarised qualitatively; no meta-analysis was conducted.

Two RCTs and two nonrandomised prospective studies were included. According to the GRADE approach, there is low to very low quality of evidence that treatment using mini-implant anchorage may significantly change nasolabial angle, upper and lower lip procumbence, and facial convexity angle compared to treatment with conventional anchorage. Similarly, very low quality evidence exists showing no differences in treatment duration between treatments with skeletal or conventional anchorage.

The overall existing evidence regarding the effect of anchorage protocols on soft tissue changes in patients with bimaxillary protrusion and premolar extraction treatment plans is of low quality.

The objectives of this study were to (1) assess attitudes about the PDMP and perceived changes in experience and decision-making following integration into the electronic health record (EHR), and (2) identify barriers to optimal PDMP use and user recommendations for improvement. This descriptive study used an electronic survey to obtain feedback from prescribers and pharmacists at a single academic medical center. Descriptive statistics were calculated, and textual data were analyzed. Of 1480 PDMP users 208 responded (14.1%). Responses demonstrated the integration of the PDMP into the EHR simplified log-in and access to PDMP information resulting in more frequent access and perceived improvement of care quality. Barriers included technical issues accessing the PDMP within the EHR and the lack of integration of other state PDMPs. Overall, the benefit of integrating the PDMP into the EHR was positive but largely limited to streamlining log-in and patient selection. Recommendations for improvement include addressing technological issues and education on PDMP interpretation and integrating new features that may modify prescribing, referral, and co-prescribing behaviors.Amorphous transition-metal polysulfides are promising positive electrode materials for next-generation rechargeable lithium-ion batteries because of their high theoretical capacities. In this study, sulfur anion redox during lithiation of amorphous TiS4 (a-TiS4) was investigated by using experimental and theoretical methods. It was found that a-TiS4 has a variety of sulfur valence states such as S2-, S-, and Sδ-. The S2- species became the main component in the Li4TiS4 composition, indicating that sulfur is a redox-active element up to this composition. The simulated a-TiS4 structure changed gradually by lithium accommodation to form a-Li4TiS4 S-S bonds in the disulfide units and polysulfide chains were broken. Bader charge analysis suggested that the average S valency decreased drastically. Moreover, deep lithiation of a-TiS4 provided a conversion reaction to metallic Ti and Li2S, with a high practical capacity of ∼1000 mAh g-1 when a lower cutoff voltage was applied.
We assessed sexual orientation-related patterns in the 1-year longitudinal course (i.e., onset, remittance, persistence) and severity of suicidality.

Data were obtained from a prospective, population-based cohort representing nearly 2.4 million Swedish young adults.

A higher proportion of sexual minorities remitted (14.6%) compared to heterosexuals (9.5%). However, over twice as many sexual minorities (35.1%) experienced persistent suicidality as heterosexuals (15.0%). Plurisexual (e.g., bisexual, pansexual) young adults and sexual minorities aged 17-25 were at greatest risk for persistent and moresevere suicidality.

Findings call for the identification of sexual orientation-related predictors of chronic suicidality to inform responsive clinical interventions.

Previous theoretical investigations have focused on the formation of isolated point defects, which are insufficient to provide direct insights into the long-term evolution of the bulk properties of materials such as zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) under sustained acid gas exposure. To bridge this divide in both length and time scales, we developed a first-principles lattice-based kinetic model to simulate the defect propagation and bulk material breakdown in ZIFs. This model closely reproduces the experimentally measured macroscopic evolution of the time-dependent bulk materials proprieties and also yields important new insights regarding the autocatalytic nature of ZIF degradation and the spatial distribution of defects. Our results suggest new experimental directions to identify nascent defect clusters in degraded ZIFs and avenues to mitigate degradation under challenging conditions of acid gas exposure.A 75-year-old male patient with suspicious cervical lymph nodes in level IV on the left side is presented. The cervical mass was detected in PSMA-PET-MRI as part of a restaging examination conducted due to an increase of PSA levels in the context of the patient's known prostate cancer. We conducted a selective cervical level IV lymphadenectomy with the aid of a gamma probe subsequent to radiolabelling with 99mTc-PSMA. Two visibly enlarged lymph nodes with high gamma probe signals could be extracted. Histopathological examination revealed lymph node metastases of the known prostate cancer. Using an adequate tracer radio-guided surgery helps to detect pathological lymph nodes in the head and neck region allowing for supraselective resection.
To describe bleeding and thrombotic events and their risk factors in patients receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and to evaluate their impact on in-hospital mortality.

The ECMOSARS registry included COVID-19 patients supported by ECMO in France. We analyzed all patients included up to March 31, 2022 without missing data regarding bleeding and thrombotic events. The association of bleeding and thrombotic events with in-hospital mortality and pre-ECMO variables was assessed using multivariable logistic regression models.

Among 620 patients supported by ECMO, 29% had only bleeding events, 16% only thrombotic events and 20% both bleeding and thrombosis. Cannulation site (18% of patients), ear nose and throat (12%), pulmonary bleeding (9%) and intracranial hemorrhage (8%) were the most frequent bleeding types. Device-related thrombosis and pulmonary embolism/thrombosis accounted for most of thrombotic events. In-hospital mortality was 55.7%. Blmortality. Intracranial hemorrhage incidence was higher than reported for non-COVID patients and carried the highest risk of death. Thrombotic events were less frequent and not associated with mortality. Length of ECMO support was associated with a higher risk of both bleeding and thrombosis, supporting the development of strategies to minimize ECMO duration.Two-dimensional (2D) materials form heterostructures in both the lateral and vertical directions when two different materials are interfaced, but with totally different bonding mechanisms of covalent in-plane to van der Waal's layered interactions. Understanding how the competition between lateral and vertical forces influences the epitaxial growth is important for future materials development of complex mixed layered heterostructures. Here, we use atomic-resolution annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy to study the detailed atomic arrangements at mixed 2D heterostructure interfaces composed of two semiconductors with distinctly different crystal symmetry and elemental composition, Pd2Se3MoS2, in order to understand the role of different chemical bonds on the resultant epitaxy. Pd2Se3 is grown off the step edge in bilayer MoS2, and the vertical and lateral epitaxial relationships of the Pd2Se3-MoS2 heterostructures are investigated. We find that the similarity of geometry at the interface with one metal (Pd or Mo) atoms bonded with two chalcogens (S or Se) are the crucial factors to make the atomically stitched lateral junction of 2D heterostructures. In addition, the vertical van der Waal interactions that are normally dominant in layered materials can be overcome by in-plane forces if the interfacial atomic stitching is high in quality and low in defect density. This knowledge should help guide the approaches for improving the epitaxy in mixed 2D heterostructures and seamless stitching of in-plane 2D heterostructures with various complex monolayer structures.Tapia's syndrome is considered a neuropraxic injury of the recurrent laryngeal nerve and hypoglossal nerve which commonly presents after postoperative general anesthesia as hoarseness and dysphagia. Clinicians should consider this diagnosis in those presenting with symptoms of cranial nerve X and cranial nerve XII injury in the post-extubation setting for prompt diagnosis and management. Here, we report a rare case of Tapia's syndrome following cardiac surgery which was then treated with carboxymethylcellulose gel implant injection.
