Using Hook Locks to Secure the Contents of Your Van
Hook locks are an excellent method to increase the security of your van. They are easy to set up and operate independently of your van's primary locking system.
Gunnebo Industries (now Crosby) created the self-locking hook in order to improve safety on construction sites. The hooks snap shut under load to prevent snatching and falling off overhead lines.
Loop Wire Hook Locks
Easily secure merchandise and accessories with these locking hooks that mate to loop wire hooks in order to prevent theft. These locks are designed to be used with HandiWALL or other compatible pegboards. They automatically lock merchandise in place, and can be removed manually by pressing down on the spring loaded lock. These locks are a low-cost alternative to magnetic hooks. They can also be easily moved without the use of tools.
Hook and loop fastener (commonly known as Velcro) is made up of two components. The "hook" side is made up of tiny, stiff hooks, and the "loops" side is made up loops that are soft, fuzzy. When they are pressed together, the components form a strong but removable bond. These fasteners can be used for a variety of purposes for bundling cables in electronics, automotive and other fields.
George de Mestral invented the hook-and-loop concept in 1941. While on a hunting trip in the Alps, he observed burrs of burdock which stuck to his clothing and animal fur, and he realized that they had hundreds of tiny hooks that were caught by loops that were found on fabrics and other surfaces. De Mestral was enthralled by this and came up with the idea to create a fastener with hooks and loops that would tie materials in a reversible way. The material he selected was nylon, and after several trials and developing a way to automatize production his product entered commercial production under the VELCRO brand name.
The self-locking feature of these hooks makes them simple to put in, since they latch themselves when the load is placed under tension. This stops accidental release, and it also adds an additional layer of protection when lifting. The hooks on these hooks for locking wire can be connected to grade 10 chain using connecting links or webbing using web sling connectors and are capable of connecting to other hardware such as pins. These hooks are secured with a variety of pressure-sensitive glues that can be used to meet your requirements. They are available in various sizes to fit different kinds of chain or cable.
Magnetic Hook Locks
Magnetic hook locks are made up of a disc-shaped base that has an integrated magnet that sticks to ferrous surfaces like metal. Once the base is connected to the hook you can't remove it unless you remove the cap of the magnetic key. Then, apply locks 4 vans hook lock to the top of the lock body (where the label reads "6 mm") Magnetic hook locks are best used for slatwall, pegboard & gridwall hooks with a thicker diameter. They may slide off of hooks with smaller diameters. locks 4 vans hook lock is powered with DC power, and comes with either one or two coils that create the magnetic force needed to hold the hook in the right position.
Magnetic door locks, also known as mag locks are a well-known security option for industrial and commercial spaces. When activated, an electromagnetic force locks doors by drawing an electric magnet to an armature welded to the frame. Depending on the size of the lock and the voltage, the strength of the magnetic force could vary from 250kg to 1000kg.
Commercial magnetic locks are usually "fail-safe" and will unlock in the event of power failure to ensure that people can get out in the event a disaster or disruption to the electrical supply. They are also used to secure doors that go into areas with dangerous or sensitive materials, preventing unauthorized access.
Electric strike door locks are installed as part a building's security system. They allow or restrict entry based on credentials, identity requirements and schedules. They can be opened with various methods that include proximity readers, cards, fobs and keypad PINs. Before deciding on the ideal locking mechanism for your company it is essential to analyze each type. This guide will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of both types, and assist you in weighing the pros and cons so that you can make an informed choice that is suitable for your needs.
Stainless Steel Hook Locks
These hook locks are made of Stainless Steel, which is strong and resistant to corrosion. They are an essential part of the Crosby Group's collection of self-closing hooks that help improve safety on construction sites. Also called a latch hook or safety hook, they snap shut when there is an object on them, which can help prevent worker accidents.
These rigging latch hooks are more durable than spring latches found on standard sling hooks. In locks 4 vans hook lock , equipment is put through many wear and wear and tear. This can result in spring latches getting damaged or even breaking off the hook. If this happens, the hook needs to be taken out of service until a compliant replacement is delivered to the job site. With a forged latch, that is a vital part of the hook's body it is unlikely to occur.
Crosby Shur-Loc hooks and Gunnebo Industries have recessed triggers to prevent your thumb from being pinched when you open the latch. This is a common problem with hooks that aren't of high quality. The Gunnebo Industries Hook also has a stopper for rotation that prevents the latch from turning downwards towards your thumb when you open it.
The Hook Lock made of stainless steel can also be key-locked to provide extra security. This feature is helpful when a lock needs to be kept out of reach. For example in a service area or tool room on a tray for utes. They can be installed on metal, wood or masonry doors and are installed easily in standard holes. The locks are made of Grade 304 Stainless Steel and come with a square forend strike plate and latch, as well as a follower. Forend and strike plates can be cut to size to ensure the most appropriate fit. These latches are available with or without key cylinders.
Brass Hook Locks
A hook lock made of brass is a simple and efficient method to secure the contents of your van. It stops criminals from bending' to access your belongings and can stop them from taking expensive items that are placed on display. It can be utilized to add an extra layer to your vehicle's security to discourage thieves from breaking in by force.
Brass door hook locks are made of high-quality metal and come in a variety of timeless finishes to complement your interior decor and architectural style. They can be used on French doors, cabinets, and even outdoor spaces like gardens gates and sheds. They are a great solution to keep gates and doors open or closed. They can be locked using keys or padlocks to ensure security.
The way they work is similar to pin cylinders, with a central core or plug that must be turned to unlock the lock. The plug cannot be turned by a series of pins that block it. They are divided into two pairs, with the top pair being the driver pins, and the lower pair being the key pins. When the right key is in place into the lock, the split in these pins aligns with the ledge at the point where the plug connects with the housing of lock (called the "shear line") and allows the plug to turn.
To select a brass lock hook you need to apply pressure or torque to the plug and lift each pin in a certain order or sequence. When all the pins have been lifted then a ledge is formed between the plug and housing. This can be cut with shear tools. When the shearline has been created you will be able to remove the key from the lock and open it.
