Vacuum erectile device (VED) therapy is commonly used for penile rehabilitation after radical prostatectomy, however, the underlying mechanism of this effect is not fully understood.
To evaluate the presence of label-retaining cells (LRCs), cells with long-term retention of 5-ethynyl-2-deoxyuridine (EdU) labeling and recognized as adult stem cells or progenitor-like cells, in cavernous tissue after VED treatment using a BCNC rat model.
Postnatal pups (1 day old) of Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were intraperitoneally injected with EdU (50 ug/g, BID for 3 days) and BCNC surgery was conducted at 6 weeks old (designated as natal-labeled rats). Adult SD rats underwent BCNC surgery and EdU injection (50 ug/g, once) after surgery (designated as adult-labeled rats). One week after surgery, both natal- and adult-labeled rats received daily VED treatment for 4 weeks. Intracavernous pressure (ICP) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) were measured for all rats and then the penile tissue was harvested. Painful sex can lead to increased psychological distress, including major depressive disorder, and the experience of loneliness may explain this association.
We aimed to investigate loneliness as a mediator between painful sex and depressive symptoms and hypothesized that women who experienced greater pain during intercourse (ie, more severe and more frequent pain) would endorse higher rates of loneliness and, in turn, higher rates of depressive symptoms at a 6-month follow-up.
Participants were 148 adults who were assigned female at birth (78.4% white, 77% partnered, 31.14 ± 10.9 years old) and completed an online, anonymous survey including the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), UCLA Loneliness Scale-3 (ULS), and demographic information.
Depressive symptoms, measured via the Patient Health Questionnaire-8 (PHQ8) at baseline (T1) and 6-month follow-up (T2) were used as the outcomes of the present study.
Painful sex and ULS at T1 were significantly correlated with each other and with PHQ8 at T1 (r. Stout ME, Hawkins MAW. Temporal Relationships Between Pain During Intercourse (PDI), Loneliness, and Depressive Symptoms Among Women. Sex Med 2021;9100444.
The aim of this systematic review was to synthesize evidence on the application of the Omaha System in the education of nursing students and to provide advice for educators to apply the Omaha System to practice and research effectively and meaningfully.
It is a necessary part of nursing education to provide students with informatics experience. The Omaha System is a standardized nursing terminology designed to enhance practice, documentation, and information management.
A systematic review and narrative synthesis.
Studies from eight databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, CINAHL, PsycINFO, China Biology Medicine disc, CNKI, Wanfang Data) were systematically retrieved. Twenty-three articles were found and synthesized.
Existing studies showed that the Omaha System was mainly applied in student community practice as a tool for guiding practice and collecting information, and the practice data were used by educators to analyse the outcomes of nursing education. Recently, the Omaha System was introduced into the classroom environment and achieved positive results in terms of teaching. Students' feedback on the use of the Omaha System was generally positive.
The Omaha System can be an active teaching and learning tool for nursing education, and further research is needed to explore and realize its potential in the field of education.

The aim of this study was to evaluate undergraduate nursing students' perceptions of using telehealth-based simulations for practicing their breastfeeding education skills.
Telehealth can help bridge the gap between the high need for healthcare services and the limited access to these services, such as breastfeeding mothers in rural settings. However current literature suggests that there is lack of telehealth education among healthcare providers, as well as, a shortage of adequately trained nurses on breastfeeding, making it difficult to provide new mothers with the support they need to successfully breastfeed. Telehealth simulation has shown to be acceptable and helpful in teaching clinical reasoning, increasing exposure to telehealth experiences, and preparing nursing students for real interaction experiences with patients.
For this cross-sectional descriptive study, two breastfeeding telehealth simulation scenarios were developed and delivered through Zoom for Bachelor of Science in Nursing studentsmance of the simulation after debriefing (n=16, 7.8%).
Telehealth simulation is a promising modality for clinical competency assessment, thus it is essential to integrate telehealth education into nursing curriculum. It is evident that telehealth-based breastfeeding simulations can be used to address the exposure/knowledge gap among nursing students who are missing or have limited exposure to breastfeeding content and telehealth use in their nursing curriculum.

This integrative review synthesized research on the healthcare inequities experienced by adults with developmental disability in the United States and discussed implications for nursing education.
Individuals with developmental disability are living longer with chronic comorbidities and experience healthcare inequities.
Application of inclusion criteria to database and ancestry searches resulted in 26 articles that were assessed for quality and analyzed thematically.
Three categories of inequity were identified knowledge deficits, communication challenges and poor quality of care. Knowledge deficits and communication challenges can lead to frustration, errors and unmet needs. Poor quality of care encompasses the decreased availability and access to services, limited health promotion participation and higher rates of hospitalizations and complications for adults with developmental disability.
Healthcare inequities may be reduced by targeting patient and provider knowledge. Inclusion of developmental disability content and clinical experiences in nursing education may improve care and reduce inequities for this underserved population.

Despite the importance of energy homeostasis in the equine neonate, information on the EIA in hospitalized foals is lacking. The goals of this study were to measure serum insulin and plasma incretin (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide [GIP], glucagon-like peptide-1 [GLP-1] and glucagon-like peptide-2 [GLP-2]) concentrations, to determine the insulin and incretin association, as well as their link to disease severity and outcome in hospitalized foals. A total of 102 newborn foals ≤72 h old were classified into hospitalized (n = 88) and healthy groups (n = 14). link2 Hospitalized foals included septic (n = 55) and sick non-septic (SNS; n = 33) foals based on sepsis scores. Blood samples were collected over 72 h to measure serum insulin and plasma GIP, GLP-1 and GLP-2 concentrations using immunoassays. Data were analyzed by nonparametric methods and univariate logistic regression. At admission, serum glucose and insulin and plasma GIP were significantly lower in hospitalized and septic compared to healthy foals (P 9 ng/mL within 24 h of admission were more likely to die (OR = 4.2; 95% CI = 1.1-16.1; OR = 13.5, 95% CI = 1.4-123.7; OR = 12.5, 95% CI = 1.6-97.6, respectively; P less then 0.05). Low GIP together with increased GLP-1 and GLP-2 concentrations indicates that different mechanisms may be contributing to reduced insulin secretion in critically ill foals, including impaired intestinal production (GIP, proximal intestine) and pancreatic endocrine resistance to enhanced incretin secretion (GLP-1, GLP-2; distal intestine). These imbalances could contribute to energy dysregulation in the critically ill equine neonate.Besides the vast research regarding the hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite (HOIP) materials used in the solar cell production, their properties are still not fully uncovered. In this paper, detailed investigation on the phase transitions in guanidinium lead iodide (GAPbI3) using vibrational spectroscopy techniques (IR and Raman) are presented. In addition to the well-known three phases of GAPbI3 (denoted as I, II and III) another one existing in the temperature range from 48 °C to 160 °C is characterized. The thorough inspection of the vibrational spectra revealed some interesting changes occurring in the low temperature region (from -90 to -62 °C) that suggest presence of a new phase. Finally, a redefinition of the phase nomenclature according to the recommendations given by the IUCr is proposed. The photometric method is widely used in real clinical tests due to its simple operation, low cost and convenient. Many of the reported colorimetric ALP assays so far are non- ratiometric because the detection was based on changes in absorbance at a single wavelength. The development of novel colorimetric and ratiometric assay is of importance for quantitatively measuring target with high accuracy. link3 The challenge in the design of ratiometric photometric assay is that the chromophore must have a significant spectral shift before and after binding to the target. Here, we report a colorimetric and ratiometric photometric sequential assay of AA and ALP based on the complexation between ARS and Cu2+ and redox reaction between AA and Cu2+. The absorption band of ARS centered at 425 nm (yellow color), which could be shifted to 510 nm (red color) upon Cu2+ binding. However, as far as we know, this classic color reaction has not been used to develop a ratiometric photometric method to sequentially detect AA and ALP, although photometric methods based on the regulation of other color reagents with oxidizing metal ions have been reported. The proposed sensing system shows a limit of detection for ALP at 0.24 U L-1 and could be applied for detecting ALP in newborn calf serum. The established sensing system makes a useful contribution to the detection of ALP in complex clinical samples.
