TB-associated HLH (TB-HLH) is a rare condition, but it is fatal if not treated. The diagnosis of TB-HLH is challenging and might be missed if not highly considered. The classic manifestations of HLH include pancytopenia, organomegaly, lymphadenopathy, and coagulopathy. Herein, we present a young immunocompetent adult diagnosed with disseminated TB complicated by HLH. Our patient responded well to the combination of antituberculosis therapy(ATT), corticosteroid, and intravenous immunoglobulin(IVIG). This case highlights the importance of considering this fatal complication in TB patients.Adult inclusion conjunctivitis, caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, is easily underdiagnosed with nonspecific ocular manifestation. Combined scrape cytology and molecular testing may be a useful strategy for its early diagnosis. A 24-year-old healthy male complained of blurred vision, foreign body sensation, and watery discharge in his right eye for four weeks. His visual acuity was 20/20 bilaterally at his first visit. Allergic conjunctivitis was the first impression, and topical treatment with corticosteroid and anti-histamine was prescribed. However, he returned five days later without symptom improvement, and his right eye vision declined to 20/40. Subepithelial corneal infiltration of his right eye was observed. According to his personal history, his girlfriend was diagnosed with sexually transmitted chlamydial infection and genital gonorrhea. To diagnose adult inclusion conjunctivitis, we can use real-time polymerase chain reaction or Giemsa stain to help us obtain a quick and correct diagnosis.Infective endocarditis (IE) is a life-threatening infection, which has had a notable increase in incidence in recent years. Although Staphylococci or Streptococci are the most common culprit organisms, rarer organisms have also been implicated and associated with a more aggressive disease course. We present a case of Enterobacter cloacae IE affecting the aortic valve in an 82-year-old male with an implantable permanent pacemaker. Our case demonstrates that a prolonged-course of beta-lactam therapy may be an effective, non-invasive management option for IE caused by multidrug-resistant gram-negative organisms.Photoacoustic (PA) techniques are potential alternatives to histopathology. The physicochemical spectrogram (PCS) generated by the PA measurement at multiple wavelengths can presents the morphology and chemical composition target at multi-biomarkers simultaneously. In this work, via multi-wavelength PA measurements performed on rabbit bone models, we investigated the feasibility of using PCSs for bone health assessment. A comprehensive analysis of the PCSs, termed PA physicochemical analysis (PAPCA), was conducted. The "slope" and "relative content" were used as the PAPCA-quantified parameters to characterize the changes in the physical and chemical properties of bone tissue, respectively. The findings are consistent well with the gold-standard imaging results. It demonstrated that the PAPCA can be used to characterize both the microstructure and content of multi-biomarkers which highly related with bone health. Considering the PA technique is noninvasive and radiation-free, it has great potential in the implementation and monitoring of bone diseases progression.COVID-19 and multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) can mimic and cause acute abdominal diseases such as intestinal obstruction, terminal ileitis, colitis, internal necrotizing mesenteric lymphadenitis, acute appendicitis, and sometimes bowel perforation. We report a case of a 6-year-old female with MIS-C and acute purulent pelviperitonitis, who was successfully treated by laparoscopy and an antibiotic without intravenous immunoglobulin and aspirin therapy. We believe that the case description should help to find a worthy place for early laparoscopic and other minimally invasive procedures for the management of similar MIS-C cases.
Meta-analysis.

We aim to identify the clinically significant ideal Mesenchymal Stem Cell (MSC) count in the management of osteoarthritis of knee from Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) available in the literature.

We conducted independent and duplicate electronic database searches including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library till August 2021 for RCTs conducted in the management of knee osteoarthritis using MSC therapy specifying the quantity of MSCs delivered. We categorized the studies based on the MSC count utilized in them into four groups namely <1×10
MSCs (Group I), 1-5x10
MSCs (Group II), 5-10×10
MSCs (Group III), and >10×10
MSCs (Group IV). Visual Analog Score (VAS) for Pain, Western Ontario McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), Lysholm score, Knee Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS), and adverse events were the outcomes analyzed. Analysis was performed in R-platform using OpenMeta [Analyst] software.

Experimental and field studies have identified northern goshawks (Accipiter gentilis) and European sparrowhawks (A. nisus) as definitive hosts in Europe while the definitive hosts elsewhere remain unknown. In this study, we aimed to identify the potential definitive host(s) of S. calchasi through molecular analysis of intestinal samples from seven predatory (n = 85) and one omnivorous (n = 11) bird species in California. In total, apicomplexan-generic 28S rRNA PCR products were obtained and sequenced for 42 raptors. Three of 16 (18.8%) Cooper's hawks (A. cooperii) and two of 26 (5.6%) red-tailed hawks (Buteo jamaicensis) also tested positive for the S. calchasi-specific ITS1 PCR and sequencing of the 28S rRNA PCR product was 100% homologous to S. calchasi. In addition to S. calchasi (5.9%; 5/85), other Sarcocystis spp. detected in raptors included S. jamaicensis (21.2%; 18/85), S. columbae (8.2%; 7/85), S. turdusi (7.1%; 6/85), and S. halieti (4.7; 4/85%). Infections with closely related S. jamaicensis and S. (Frenkelia) microti (9.4%; 8/85) could not be distinguished for eight raptors. Eumonospora henryae (1.2%; 1/85) was detected in one raptor.
