In GSEA, low ARID1A expression was related to the tumor invasion process as well as a low immune-infiltration. In silico cytometry showed that CD8 T cells were decreased with low ARID1A expression. In pathway analysis, ARID1A was associated with angiogenic endothelial cell signaling. In vitro drug screening revealed that cabozantinib and bicalutamide effectively inhibited specific hub genes, such as vascular endothelial growth factor-A and androgen receptor, in OCCC cells with low ARID1A expression.
Therapeutic strategies making use of low ARID1A could contribute to better clinical management/research for patients with OCCC.

The aim of the present study was to introduce a new technique for laparoscopic para-aortic lymphadenectomy (PAL) an invented retroperitoneum suspension needle combined with modified trocar placement.
This prospective pilot study randomly categorized women with cervical cancer of stage I-II into 2 groups. The patients in the study group would have laparoscopic PAL with our new technique, while those in the control group with control method. Tulmimetostat in vitro Patients' characteristics and perioperative outcomes were compared between the 2 groups.
A total of 37 patients were included in our study, of which 20 cases in the study group and 17 cases in the control group. As a result, the mean number of para-aortic lymph nodes (PALNs) resected in the study group was significantly more than that in the control group (p<0.001). The time for resecting PALNs (p<0.001) and total operative time (p<0.001) in the study group decreased significantly than those in the control group.
For laparoscopic PAL, this new technique was effective and practical.

To assess the prognostic value of the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in patients with vulvar cancer.
Data of 130 consecutive patients who underwent primary surgical resection for vulvar cancer at the Medical University of Vienna between 1999 and 2018 was retrospectively analyzed. The SII was defined as platelets × neutrophils/lymphocytes as previously described. Its prognostic value on disease-specific survival (DSS) and overall survival (OS) was evaluated by univariate log-rank tests and multivariable cox regression models. Prediction accuracy was assessed by receiver operating characteristics curves and Youden's J statistics. A Hosmer-Lemeshow test was performed to confirm the model's goodness of fit.
A pre-therapeutic high serum SII (>866.4) was associated with advanced International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO)-stage. In univariate survival analysis, a high SII was associated with both DSS (p<0.001) and OS (p=0.001). A multivariate cox regression model confirmed the prognostic value of SII regarding DSS (p<0.001) and OS (p=0.014) independently from patients' age and FIGO stage.
Pretherapeutic SII may serve as a promising predictor for survival in patients with vulvar cancer. After clinical validation, the SII may be used to improve both pre-treatment patient risk stratification and patient counseling.

In this "Perspective," we discuss recent advances in the understanding of epithelial Cl- transport at the molecular level within key osmoregulatory organs in fishes. New insights into mechanisms for epithelial Cl- transport in basal lineages are highlighted to provide an evolutionary context. We describe Cl- transport processes that employ cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator, cation-chloride cotransporters, voltage-gated chloride channels, and chloride-anion exchangers. As the collective understanding of Cl- transport processes continues to expand, investigators are equipped to more precisely characterize how endocrine factors promote hydromineral balance. We, therefore, conclude our discussion by paying special attention to recently defined roles for prolactin and corticosteroids in the regulation of Cl- transport in basal and derived clades.3D in vitro model systems such as spheroids and organoids provide an opportunity to extend the physiological understanding using recapitulated tissues that mimic physiological characteristics of in vivo microenvironments. Unlike 2D systems, 3D in vitro systems can bridge the gap between inadequate 2D cultures and the in vivo environments, providing novel insights on complex physiological mechanisms at various scales of organization, ranging from the cellular, tissue-, to organ-levels. To satisfy the ever-increasing need for highly complex and sophisticated systems, many 3D in vitro models with advanced microengineering techniques have been developed to answer diverse physiological questions. This review summarizes recent advances in engineered microsystems for the development of 3D in vitro model systems. The relationship between the underlying physics behind the microengineering techniques, and their ability to recapitulate distinct 3D cellular structures and functions of diverse types of tissues and organs are highlighted and discussed in detail. A number of 3D in vitro models and their engineering principles are also introduced. Finally, current limitations are summarized, and perspectives for future directions in guiding the development of 3D in vitro model systems using microengineering techniques are provided.
To aim of the present paper was to evaluate the results of halo traction and transarticular screw fixation combined with bone autoplasty in patients with severe atlantoaxial dislocation.
This is a retrospective study of severe cases of atlantoaxial dislocation in nine patients (six men and three women) treated with preoperative halo traction and posterior C1-C2 transarticular screw fixation combined with bone autoplasty from June 2006 to June 2011 at the Saint Paul Hospital (Hanoi). The mean age of patients was 37.48 ± 13.753 years (range, 26-50 years). The possibility of fixing dislocation using a halo apparatus was investigated through a series of preoperative halo corrections performed within a span of 1-2 weeks. For transarticular screw fixation, two transarticular screws were used that were positioned according to the Magerl technique. For bone autoplasty, an iliac crest bone graft approximately 3 × 2 cm in size was used. The postoperative assessment of clinical improvement was performed using the neck disability index (NDI), the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) impairment scale, and the visual analog scale (VAS) measurement instruments, through the gradation of atlantoaxial dislocation, and via the clivoaxial angle(CAA) index and the space available for cord (SAC) index after 6 months.
