In this paper we argue that the development of such interventions for chaplains is important in order to improve spiritual care in a (post)secular and religiously plural context. We therefore propose an interfaith chaplain-led spiritual care intervention for home-based palliative care that addresses patients' spiritual needs. The intervention is based on elements of spiritual care interventions that have been investigated among other populations. Three important characteristics of the proposed intervention are (1) life review; (2) materiality, ritual and embodiment; and (3) imagination. The aim of this intervention is to improve palliative patients' spiritual wellbeing. It is anticipated that such a structured intervention could assist in improving spiritual care in palliative care.
The aetiology of heart failure may have different effects on right ventricular (RV) function, pulmonary pressures and RV afterload. Pulmonary arterial capacitance (PAC) and pulmonary artery pulsatility index (PAPi) are novel haemodynamic indices used in determining RV afterload and RV function, respectively. We aimed to investigate whether there was a difference in PAC and PAPi between ischaemic cardiomyopathy (ICMP) and non-ischaemic cardiomyopathy (NICMP) in patients with end-stage heart failure.

A total of 215 subjects undergoing evaluation for heart transplantation or left ventricular (LV) assist device were classified into two groups ICMP (
 = 101) and NICMP (
 = 114). The patients with LV ejection fraction ≤ 25% were included in the study. ICMP group had lower PAC and higher PAPi values compared to NICMP group [1.25 (0.82-1.86) vs. 1.58 (1.02-2.21),
 = 0.002 and 3.4 (2.2-5.0) vs. 2.5 (1.7-4.0);
 = 0.007]. Pulmonary vascular resistance, pulmonary artery systolic and mean pressure were higher in ICMP group compared to NICMP group [3.5 ± 1.8 vs. 2.9 ± 2.3,
 = 0.004; 59.0 (42.0-73.0) vs. 46.0 (37.0-59.0),
 < 0.001, 35.0 (27.0-46.0) vs. 31.0 (23.0-39.0),
 = 0.002]. The patients with ICMP had higher tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion and less RV dilatation. ICMP was an independent risk factor for pulmonary hypertension (OR 4.02, 95% CI 1.13-14.24,
 = 0.031).

The AcP underestimated (-33% to -60%) METs during cycling and was unable to detect increases in metabolic rate when cadence was fixed, while power increased. The AcP can identify when exercise occurs and provides consistent information across units/models. However, the current AcP algorithm does not provide accurate estimates of METs during walking, running and cycling in a controlled laboratory setting, which would suggest limited accuracy in the field.Swift detection of faces with emotional meaning underlies fruitful social relationships. Although previous studies using a visual search paradigm have demonstrated rapid detection of emotional facial expressions, whether it is attributable to emotional/motivational significance remains to be clarified. We examined this issue by excluding the influence of visual factors on the rapid detection of faces with emotional meaning. First, participants were engaged in an associative learning task wherein neutral faces were associated with either monetary rewards, monetary punishments, or zero outcome in order for the neutral faces to acquire positive, negative, and no emotional value, respectively. Then, during the visual search task, the participants detected a target-neutral face associated with high reward or punishment from among newly presented neutral faces. In Experiment 1, neutral faces associated with high reward and punishment values were more rapidly detected than those without monetary outcomes. In Experiment 2, highly rewarded and highly punished neutral faces were more rapidly detected than neutral faces associated with low monetary reward/punishment. Analyses of ratings confirmed that the learned neutral faces acquired emotional value, and the reaction times were negatively related to arousal ratings. These results suggest that the emotional/motivational significance promotes the rapid detection of emotional faces.Predicting tumor drug response using cancer cell line drug response values for a large number of anti-cancer drugs is a significant challenge in personalized medicine. Predicting patient response to drugs from data obtained from preclinical models is made easier by the availability of different knowledge on cell lines and drugs. This paper proposes the TCLMF method, a predictive model for predicting drug response in tumor samples that was trained on preclinical samples and is based on the logistic matrix factorization approach. The TCLMF model is designed based on gene expression profiles, tissue type information, the chemical structure of drugs and drug sensitivity (IC 50) data from cancer cell lines. We use preclinical data from the Genomics of Drug Sensitivity in Cancer dataset (GDSC) to train the proposed drug response model, which we then use to predict drug sensitivity of samples from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset. The TCLMF approach focuses on identifying successful features of cell lines and s across the results of the other algorithms. Finally, we accurately classify tumor tissue type using the latent vectors obtained from TCLMF's logistic matrix factorization process. These findings demonstrate that the TCLMF approach produces effective latent vectors for tumor samples. A secondary analysis of 2017 Youth Risk Behavior Survey data assessed the associations between having been threatened or injured with a weapon and substance use (binge drinking, marijuana, tobacco use, prescription medication misuse) and mental health (feeling sad or hopeless, considering suicide). Multiple logistic regression models with complex survey weights were used, controlling for potential confounders. Approximately 6.0% of students reported having been threatened/injured with a weapon. After adjusting for covariates, having been threatened/injured with a weapon was associated with binge drinking (AOR = 2.5; 95% CI 1.9-3.4), marijuana (AOR = 2.1; 95% CI 1.6-2.7), tobacco use (AOR = 2.6; 95% CI 2.0-3.5), and misuse of prescription medication (AOR = 2.2; 95% CI 1.6-3.0) compared with students who have not been threatened/injured. Having been threatened/injured with a weapon was associated with 1.6 times the odds (95% CI 1.2-2.2) of feeling sad/hopeless and 1.7 times the odds (95% CI 1.3-2.3) of considering suicide. Having been threatened or injured with a weapon is an important public health issue associated with negative mental health and substance use.
