This argument is based on the late Peter Stewart's physical- chemical analysis of [H+] regulation reported in this journal nearly forty years ago. We start by outlining the principles of Stewart's analysis and then provide a general understanding of its significance for regulation of ICF [H+]. A two-visit (counterbalanced order), within-subject experiment was conducted among individuals aged 18-35. For the acute exercise visit, participants engaged in a 15-minute bout of moderate-intensity treadmill exercise while solving anagram problems. For the anagram only visit, participants engaged in 15 minutes of seated rest while solving anagram problems. Average RAT performance was higher for the exercise + anagram problem-solving visit (M = 10.51, SD = 3.25) compared to anagram-solving + seated rest (M = 9.29, SD = 4.12). The difference between conditions was statistically significant, t(44) = 2.385, p = .021, Cohen's d = 0.36. Advancements in methods make possible for meta-analyses to examine specific pathways linking SES to cognitive ability and achievement, as well as the moderators of these pathways. In this study, we conducted a systematic overview of meta-analyses on SES to address three research questions 1) what is the direction and overall strength of association between SES and performance on measures of cognitive ability and achievement, and how precise are the effect sizes reported? 2) to what extent have meta-analyses examined moderation by components of SES, age, sex, and race/ethnicity? and 3) to what extent have meta-analyses examined mechanisms linking SES to cognitive ability and achievement? We conducted a systematic search using online archives (i.e., PsycINFO, ERIC, PubMed, Sociological Abstracts, and Web of Science), searching issues in Psychological Bulletin and Review of Educational Research, and examining references and citations. We identified 14 meta-analyses published between 1982 and 2019. These meta-analyses consistently reported positive associations of small to medium magnitude, indicating that SES is a meaningful contributor to the development of cognitive ability and achievement. Fewer meta-analyses reported evidence of moderation by age, sex, and race/ethnicity. None of the meta-analyses directly examined mechanisms, but provided evidence of possible mechanisms for future research. We suggest that meta-analyses can increase their contribution to future research, interventions, and policy by narrowing their focus on specific pathways.The permissible contact stress for the rolling bearing made of the through hardened bearing steel has been established based on experience, while there is no definite value or calculating formula of the permissible contact stress for the slewing bearings which are hardened only on the raceway surface yet. To determine the permissible contact stress of the case hardened raceway of roller slewing bearing, finite element analysis for the contact elasto-plastic characteristics between the loaded roller and the case hardened raceway was performed, and the contact plastic deformations corresponding to different roller diameter, roller load, and case depth were obtained. The contact stress produced by the roller load was calculated by using Hertz contact theory. Based on the nonlinear regression analysis between the input parameters and the output plastic deformations of the model, the relation equation between the contact plastic deformation and the roller diameter, contact stress, case depth was established. The formula for calculating the permissible contact stress of the case hardened raceway was obtained according to the regression equation further.
