We identified 31 patients treated endovascularly using stents and 33 patients treated conservatively, with the administration of antifibrinolytic drugs in 3 of them. Our analysis showed no statistically significant difference between the groups, except for the occlusion rate.

Hypertension is a risk factor for cognitive impairment; however, the mechanisms leading to cognitive changes remain unclear. In this cross-sectional study, we evaluate the impact of white matter lesion (WML) burden on brain functional connectivity (FC) and cognition in a large cohort of hypertensive patients from the Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial (SPRINT) at baseline.
Functional networks were identified from baseline resting state functional MRI scans of 660 SPRINT participants using independent component analysis. WML volumes were calculated from structural MRI. Correlation analyses were carried out between mean FC of each functional network and global WML as well as WML within atlas-defined white matter regions. For networks of interest, voxel-wise-adjusted correlation analyses between FC and regional WML volume were performed. Multiple variable linear regression models were built for cognitive test performance as a function of network FC, followed by mediation analysis.
Mean FC of the default mode network (DMN) was negatively correlated with global WML volume, and regional WML volume within the precuneus. Voxel-wise correlation analyses revealed that regional WML was negatively correlated with FC of the DMN's left lateral temporal region. FC in this region of the DMN was positively correlated to performance on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment and demonstrated significant mediation effects. Additional networks also demonstrated global and regional WML correlations; however, they did not demonstrate an association with cognition.
In hypertensive patients, greater WML volume is associated with lower FC of the DMN, which in turn is related to poorer cognitive test performance.

Sex trafficking is a public health and social justice issue that has traditionally been addressed with criminal justice solutions. Because many sex trafficking survivors are incarcerated for crimes related to their exploitation, specialty, human trafficking courts were developed to offer resources and assistance to labor and sex trafficking survivors. This study assessed justice-involved youth participating in a specialty, anti-trafficking court program. The purpose of this study was to investigate justice-related outcomes of participants in a specialty court program. We examined (1) the relationship between age at first citation and justice characteristics (number of bench warrants, number of citations, number placements, and number of times ran away); and (2) the number of months between first citation and enrollment into the program with the aforementioned justice characteristics. We used negative binomial models to estimate the relationships between age at first citation, number of months between first ng indicators for all systems-involved youth and relocating trafficking specialty courts out of juvenile courts to dependency courts.
Managing patient radiation dose in pediatric computed tomography (CT) examinations is essential. Some organizations, most notably Image Gently, have suggested techniques to lower dose to pediatric patients and mitigate risk while maintaining image quality.
We sought to validate whether institutions are observing Image Gently guidelines in practice.
Dose-relevant data from 663,417 abdomen-pelvis and chest CT scans were obtained from 53 facilities. Patients were assigned arbitrary age cohorts with a minimum size of n=12 patients in each age group, for statistical purposes. All pediatric (<19years old) cohorts at a given facility were compared to the adult cohort by a Kruskal-Wallis test for each of the four scan parameters - (1) x-ray tube kilovoltage (kV), (2) tube-current-by-exposure-time product (tube mAs), (3) scan pitch and (4) tube rotation time - to assess whether the distribution of values in the pediatric cohorts differed from the adult cohort. The same was repeated with volume CT dose index (CTDI
) and size-specific dose estimate (SSDE) to assess whether pediatric cohorts received less dose than adult cohorts. A P-value of <0.05 was deemed significant.
Across the 150 pediatric cohorts, 134 had scan parameters that were more child-sized than their adult counterparts. In 128 of these 134 pediatric cohorts, the CTDI
was less than the adult counterpart. In 111 of these 128 pediatric cohorts, the SSDE was less than the adult counterpart.
The study reaffirms that in practice, Image Gently's suggestions of lowering tube mAs and peak kilovoltage are commonly employed and effective at reducing pediatric CT dose.

Although the radiographic features of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in children have been described, the distinguishing features of multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) associated with COVID-19 are not well characterized.
We compared the chest radiographic findings of MIS-C with those of COVID-19 and described other distinguishing imaging features of MIS-C.
We performed a retrospective case series review of children ages 0 to 18years who were hospitalized at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta from March to May 2020 and who either met the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) case definition for MIS-C (n=11) or who had symptomatic, laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 (n=16). 4-Octyl Two radiologists reviewed the most severe chest radiographs for each patient. The type and distribution of pulmonary opacities and presence or absence of pleural effusions were recorded. The chest radiographs were categorized based on potential COVID-19 imaging findings as typical, indeterminate, atypical or negative.
