When considering the heterogeneity at regional, industrial and enterprise levels, the policy effect is more significant in non-state-owned enterprises, as well as enterprises with smaller scale. What is more, market competitiveness is conducive to the promotion on enterprises' TFP, while current level of green preference fails to positively moderate the policy effect. This study provides theoretical and empirical support for the construction of green industrial policy and further facilitates China's green development.
Imatinib is indicated for treatment of CML, GIST, etc. The population pharmacokinetics (popPK) of imatinib in patients under long-term treatment are reported in literature. Data obtained from bioequivalence trials for healthy subjects were used to evaluate the influence of demographic and pharmacogenetic factors on imatinib pharmacokinetics (PK) in a collective without concurrent drugs, organ dysfunction, inflammation etc. In addition, the differences in PK between the healthy subjects and a patient cohort was examined to identify possible disease effects.
26 volunteers were administered orally with single dose of 400mg imatinib. 16-19 plasma samples per volunteer were collected from 0.5 up to 72h post-dose. The popPK was built and post hoc estimates were compared with previously published PK parameters evaluated by non-compartmental analysis in the same cohort. The predictivity of the model for data collected from 40 patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors at steady state was evaluated.

The model can be applied for dose individualization based on trough concentrations assuming no significant differences in absorption between patients and healthy volunteers.Excessive inflammation and coagulation contribute to high morbidity and mortality in sepsis. Many studies have indicated the role of piperlongumine (PL) in anti-inflammation, but its effect on coagulation remains uncertain. Here, we explore whether PL could moderate coagulation indicators and alleviate lung inflammation during sepsis. RAW264.7 cells were induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and treated with PL. Inflammatory and coagulation indicators, cell function and signaling, were evaluated in cells. Cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) mice were treated with PL by gavage. The harvested lungs and plasma were used to assess inflammation and coagulation indicators. As a result, PL increased the survival rate and reduced the concentrations of tissue factor (TF), plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 (PAI-1), thrombin-antithrombin complex (TAT), D-dimer, interleukin (IL)-6, IL-1β, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α in CLP mice, with fibrinogen in reverse. Moreover, the PL alleviated inflammation, fibrin deposition, and lung injury in the lungs of CLP mice. In vitro, PL downregulated the expression of TF, PAI-1, IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β in RAW264.7 cells induced by LPS. Furthermore, PL inhibited the phosphorylation of the AKT/mTOR signaling pathway's key proteins and suppressed the nuclear translocation of p-STAT3 in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. In conclusion, this study suggests that PL may modulate coagulation indicators and improve lung inflammation through AKT/mTOR signaling pathway in sepsis.Forest fire is known to positively affect bark beetle populations by providing fire-damaged trees with impaired defenses for infestation. Tomicus piniperda, the common pine shoot beetle, breeds and lays eggs under the bark of stressed pine trees and is considered a serious forest pest within its native range. Wood-colonizing fungi have been hypothesized to improve substrate quality and detoxify tree defensive chemistry to indirectly facilitate tree colonization by beetles. While some bark beetle species form symbiotic associations with fungi and actively vector their partners when colonizing new trees, T. piniperda does not have mycangia or body hairs for specific vectoring of fungi. To explore the T. piniperda-associated fungal community for signs of specific association, we used ITS metabarcoding to separately characterize fungal communities associated with surface and gut of male and female beetles. We also characterized the temporal changes in fungal community and nutrient status of pine phloem with and without beetle galleries. Sampling was performed 2 years after a natural forest fire and included both burnt and unburnt sites. In our study system, we find that forest fire significantly impacts the fungal community composition associated with T. piniperda and that fire may also indirectly change nutrient availability in phloem to beetle galleries. We conclude that T. piniperda can vector fungi to newly colonized trees but the absence of positive effects on substrate quality and minimal effects of sex indicate that vectoring of associated fungal communities is not a strategy associated with the T. piniperda life cycle.
Early accurate diagnosis of infection ± organ dysfunction (sepsis) remains a major challenge in clinical practice. Utilizing effective biomarkers to identify infection and impending organ dysfunction before the onset of clinical signs and symptoms would enable earlier investigation and intervention. To our knowledge, no prior study has specifically examined the possibility of pre-symptomatic detection of sepsis.
Blood samples and clinical/laboratory data were collected daily from 4385 patients undergoing elective surgery. An adjudication panel identified 154 patients with definite postoperative infection, of whom 98 developed sepsis. Transcriptomic profiling and subsequent RT-qPCR were undertaken on sequential blood samples taken postoperatively from these patients in the three days prior to the onset of symptoms. The objective of this study was to determine whether SmartWater, a liquid and permanent fluorescent dye, can be used to mark Phytoseiulus persimilis for experimentation without any deleterious effects on its dispersal, behavior, reproduction, and biocontrol efficacy. Our results show that there were no significant differences in movement, inter-plant dispersal, feeding behavior, survivability, and reproduction between marked P. persimilis and control individuals sprayed with water. We also found that the SmartWater mark lasted for the duration of the mites' life, indicating strong durability over time. Marking efficacy may be reduced, due to a trade-off between batch marking efficacy and the possibility of drowning study organisms. However, we feel future research could improve liquid marking techniques that would reduce this risk. Overall, this study concludes that SmartWater could be a useful marking tool for predatory mites in both laboratory and field studies.At present, the commonly used allogeneic bone powder in the clinic can be divided into nondemineralized bone matrix and demineralized bone matrix (DBM). Commonly used demineralizers include acids and ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA). There may be some diversities between them. Also, the size of the bone particle can affects its cell compatibility and osteogenic ability. We produced different particle sizes i.e., less then 75, 75-100, 100-315, 315-450, 450-650, and 650-1000 μm, and treated in three ways (nondemineralized, demineralized by EDTA, and demineralized by HCl). Scanning electron microscopy showed that the surface of the samples in each group was relatively smooth without obvious differences. The results of specific surface area and porosity analysis showed that they were significantly higher in demineralized bone powder than in nondemineralized bone powder, however, there was no significant difference between the two decalcification methods. The content of hydroxyproline in nondemineralized bone powder and EDTA-demineralized bone powder had no statistical difference, while HCl-demineralization had statistical significance compared with the former two, and the content increased with the decrease of particle size. The protein and BMP-2 extracted from HCl demineralized bone powder were significantly higher than that from nondemineralized bone powder and EDTA demineralized bone powder, and there were differences among different particle sizes. These results suggested the importance of demineralization mode and particle size of the allogenic bone powder and provided guidance for the choice of the most appropriate particle size and demineralization mode to be used in tissue bioengineering.This study aims to identify the relationship between dysphagia and developing hospital-acquired disability (HAD) in older patients with heart failure (HF). This single-center retrospective cohort study included 360 patients (median age, 84 years 58.1% female, 41.9% male) who had undergone rehabilitation and were aged 65 years and older. Patients were divided into dysphagia and non-dysphagia groups and compared based on the Functional Oral Intake Scale score. HAD was defined as a decline in the Barthel Index score (indication of daily activity levels) at discharge relative to that before admission. The relationship between dysphagia and HAD was analyzed using bivariate analysis after adjusting for age, sex, body mass index, medical history, clinical and laboratory data, short physical performance battery (SPPB), and cognitive function at the start of rehabilitation, using propensity score matching. HAD was observed in 38.1% of the patients. Patients with dysphagia were significantly older, and had lower body mass index and physical and cognitive function than those without. After propensity score matching, the prevalence of HAD was significantly higher in the dysphagia group than in the non-dysphagia group (61.9% vs. 42.9%, P = 0.032). Dysphagia at the start of rehabilitation was an independent predictor of HAD. The results of this study may contribute to risk stratification of HAD.Peripheral artery disease (PAD) and atrial fibrillation (AF) are associated with major cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE). However, outcomes stratified according to the preoperative symptoms of PAD in patients with AF have not been sufficiently investigated. This was a retrospective study of prospectively collected data pertaining to 2237 patients (1179 patients with intermittent claudication [IC] and 1058 patients with critical limb-threatening ischemia [CLTI]) who underwent endovascular therapy at 34 hospitals between August 2014 and August 2016. AF was present in 91 (7.7%) patients with IC and 150 (14.2%) patients with CLTI. In the CLTI group, patients with AF had a higher event rate of MACCE and all-cause death than those without AF (1-year rates of freedom from MACCE 0.66 and 0.81 in patients with and without AF, respectively, p less then 0.001). In contrast, in the IC group, there was no statistically significant difference in the rates of MACCE between patients with and without AF. In the Cox multivariate analysis, AF was a significant predictor of MACCE in patients with CLTI but not in patients with IC, even after adjusting for covariates.
