Taken together, our findings indicate that FA2H might be a breast cancer cell migration stimulator, independently of the ERα expression status.
Studies reporting outcomes of liver resection for sarcoma metastases (LRSM) typically include gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST), or pooled analyses of "non-colorectal liver metastases", which do not reflect the subgroup of patients with sarcomatous liver metastases. selleck compound This study aimed to perform a systematic review to evaluate oncological and surgical outcomes in patients undergoing LRSM, and to report new data from two tertiary institutions.

MEDLINE and the Cochrane Library were searched for studies reporting oncological and surgical outcomes after LRSM, following PRISMA guidelines. Studies reporting liver resection for GIST were excluded. The resulting studies were pooled, with data from two European centres.

Six studies of LSRM were included, comprising 212 patients from previously reported series and 24 patients from ours, with median follow-up times of 18-53 months. Postoperative mortality rates ranged from 0 to 9%, and the pooled overall survival (OS) was 89% (95% CI 83-96%), and 31% (95% CI 14-47%) at one and five years, respectively (median 36 months). The presence of synchronous extra-hepatic metastases was found to be a significant risk factor for shorter OS in two cohorts, with hazard ratios of 3.7 (p < 0.001) and 9.1 (p = 0.016), respectively. The largest reported series also found larger metastases (≥100 mm), lack of response to chemotherapy and a shorter disease-free interval to be associated with significantly shorter OS after LSRM.

Patients undergoing LRSM with negative prognostic factors such as the presence of extra-hepatic metastases are unlikely to benefit from surgery. Acceptable medium- and long-term survival may be achievable in highly selected patients.

We present a healthy young woman who came to the Emergency Department with two days of isolated vertical nystagmus and was subsequently diagnosed with MS on imaging. Although bilateral vertical nystagmus is not a common presentation of MS, its presence should prompt inclusion of this disease process in the differential diagnosis.A characteristic feature of terminal erythropoiesis in mammals is extrusion of the highly condensed nucleus out of the cytoplasm. Other vertebrates, including fish, reptiles, amphibians, and birds, undergo nuclear condensation but do not enucleate. Enucleation provides mammals evolutionary advantages by gaining extra space for hemoglobin and being more flexible to migrate through capillaries. Nascent reticulocytes further mature into red blood cells through membrane and proteome remodeling and organelle clearance. Over the past decade, novel molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways have been uncovered that play important roles in chromatin condensation, enucleation, and reticulocyte maturation. These advances not only increase understanding of the physiology of erythropoiesis, but also facilitate efforts in generating in vitro red blood cells for various translational application. In the present review, recent studies in epigenetic modification and release of histones during chromatin condensation are highlighted. New insights in enucleation, including protein sorting, vesicle trafficking, transcriptional regulation, noncoding RNA, cytoskeleton remodeling, erythroblastic islands, and cytokinesis, are summarized. Moreover, organelle clearance and proteolysis mediated by ubiquitin-proteasome degradation during reticulocytes maturation is also examined. Perspectives for future directions in this rapidly evolving research area are also provided.
Transgender and gender diverse people often face discrimination and may experience disproportionate emotional distress that leads to suicide attempts. Therefore, it is essential to estimate the frequency and potential determinants of suicide attempts among transgender and gender diverse individuals.

Longitudinal data on 6,327 transgender and gender diverse individuals enrolled in 3 integrated healthcare systems were analyzed to assess suicide attempt rates. Incidence was compared between transmasculine and transfeminine people by age and race/ethnicity and according to mental health status at baseline. Cox proportional hazards models examined rates and predictors of suicide attempts during follow-up. Data were collected in 2016, and analyses were conducted in 2019.

During follow-up, 4.8% of transmasculine and 3.0% of transfeminine patients had at least 1 suicide attempt. Suicide attempt rates were more than 7 times higher among patients aged <18 years than among those aged >45 years, more than 3 tcide attempts and identify targets for suicide prevention interventions among transgender and gender diverse people in clinical settings.
This study aimed to investigate the associations between weight perception, unhealthy weight control behavior, and suicidal ideation and planning and identify the role of unhealthy weight control behavior as a mediator in these associations among Korean adolescents.

This national cross-sectional secondary study used data from the 2015-2017 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Surveys, with a final sample of 96,285 adolescents who tried to manage their weight in the 30days prior to the surveys. A multivariate logistic regression was conducted.

Both adolescent groups who perceived themselves to be underweight or overweight were significantly linked to a greater likelihood of suicidal ideation and planning (COR, 95% CI=1.249, 1.141-1.367; COR, 95% CI=1.339, 1.282-1.399) respectively. While adolescents with perceptions of being underweight are associated with suicidal ideation and planning through the suppression effect of unhealthy weight control behavior (Pathway A OR, 95% CI=0.628, 0.587-0.671), adolescents with perceptions of being overweight are linked with the same through the mediation effect (Pathway A OR, 95% CI=1.
