The qSCN10 locus with broad-spectrum SCN resistance was fine-mapped to a 379-kb region on chromosome 10 in soybean accession PI 567516C. Genetic resistance has been the major strategy to control this pest. Therefore, novel genetic resistance resources, especially those with broad-spectrum resistance, are needed to develop new resistant cultivars to cope with the genetic shifts in nematode populations. In this study, a quantitative trait locus (QTL) qSCN10 previously identified from a soybean landrace PI 567516C was confirmed to confer resistance to multiple SCN Hhylogenetic and haplotype analyses of qSCN10 as well as other information indicate that this locus is different from other reported resistance QTL or genes. There was no yield drag or other unfavorable traits associated with this QTL when near-isogenic lines with and without qSCN10 were tested in a SCN-free field. Therefore, our study not only provides further insight into the genetic basis of soybean resistance to SCN, but also identifies a novel genetic resistance resource for breeding soybean for durable, broad-spectrum resistance to this pest.Confrontation with aversive trauma symptoms is a key element in the treatment of stress-associated disorders, especially posttraumatic stress disorder. The cardiovascular system plays a causal role in this context, as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) invades host cells via the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE-2), an enzyme in the renin-angiotensin system. Furthermore, cardiovascular comorbidities and risk factors, such as hypertension, diabetes and obesity play an important role in the severity of the course of the disease. Additional risk factors, such as gender, age, genetics and air pollution modulate both the severity of the SARS-CoV‑2 infection as well as cardiovascular diseases. As sequelae of COVID-19, increased thrombosis, myocardial infarction, myocardial inflammation and vasculitis occur, which directly damage the cardiovascular system and substantially contribute to the high morbidity and mortality. Knowledge gained from many studies on the course of the disease in patients infected with SARS-CoV‑2 has led to improved treatment possibilities, which now in the second wave are partly standardized and were, and are, in particular adapted to complications of the cardiovascular system. In this review we provide a short overview on the pathophysiology of the SARS-CoV‑2 in general and also specifically on the cardiovascular system. To assess the efficacy and toxicity of hypofractionated radiotherapy (RT) alone in treatment-resistant symptomatic keloids.

Six patients with atotal of 13 inoperable large keloid lesions and no response to previous treatments were admitted to our department between 2017 and 2019. All patients were examined for detailed wound localization, size, contour, and color assessment, and for objective and subjective symptoms. Response to treatment was graded as "complete remission" in case of full symptomatic relief and >75% decrease in lesion size, as "partial remission" in case of partial symptomatic relief and 25-75% decrease in lesion size, and as "stable disease" in case of no symptomatic relief or <25% decrease in lesion size. Patients were followed up monthly for the first 3months and every 3months thereafter by physical examination.

Atotal dose of 37.5 Gy external RT in five fractions was prescribed by 6‑MeV electrons in 4patients and 6‑MV photons in 2patients. Complete response was obtained in all patients at the 6‑month control. All patients were satisfied with cosmetic results at their last control. Grade2 dermatitis developed in all patients during the second week of RT but resolved completely in all after 6months following the end of RT.

In keloids that are unresponsive to standard treatment, hypofractionated RT using atotal dose of 37.5 Gy in five fractions is feasible.
