L4V Hook Lock
L4V's Statement lock is a surface-mounted van lock designed to secure side load doors against the threat of 'peel and steal'. van security hook locks is installed externally to secure the door and also acts as visual deterrent.
It is operated using an ultra-secure key. It functions independently of the locking system used by the manufacturer. Kits are vehicle door specific and come with UV stabilised black nylon exterior trims.
Hook Locks
Van hook locks operate independently of the manufacturer's locking system on your side load doors and tailgates. They are fitted with a hook-style bolt that latches into the receiving keep and can be locked by hand using a high-security key. This gives a high degree of protection from "Peel and steal" that is where thieves forcefully open side loading doors and remove items.
These are a popular upgrade for van security. They can be put on the side of the front load and rear load barn doors and also on the tailgate and cab doors. They are also available in a range of colours, so that you can pick the one that best matches your van's colour scheme and provides the most visual security against thieves.
Installing a Slam Lock is another great option to enhance the security of your van. This is perfect for couriers or other situations where the door needs to lock when it shuts. The Slam lock is a combination of internal and external parts to limit the chance of the doors on your side being opened or ripped off. It is usually used in conjunction with an L4V hook lock in the lower position of the doors in your vehicle. This is the most effective way to prevent the most frequent van thefts.
For a complete security solution for your van, you could also pair the slam locks with L4V's Anti-Peel kit. The slamlock and L4V's solid Anti-Peel plates are combined to minimize the chance of the side loading door of your van being peeled. This is the most popular method of theft that involves stealing expensive equipment and tools from vans' backs and the anti-peel kit has been tested independently to increase the resistance by 3000%..
Deadlocks
Deadlocks are a type of software defect that occur when processes within the same process or across multiple processes compete for resources in a manner that results in circular dependencies. Operating systems should be aware of deadlocks as they consume resources and can affect overall performance of the system. Many operating systems use process scheduling and resource allocation algorithms to prevent and detect deadlocks.
If a process is in a deadlock, it can't move forward until it has the resource it needs. For example, if process P1 holds the tape drive R1 and is waiting for process P2 to release the same drive then it is in a deadlock. If one process releases the resource it holds it will then take it and enter a deadlock as well.
There are many methods to stop or fix deadlocks. The most common method is to employ an algorithm to detect deadlocks. This algorithm locates the deadlock by looking for cycles on the graph of resource allocation. The Banker's Algorithm is one such algorithm that checks the status of each process for cycles by analyzing the current set of allocated resources.
Another method to avoid deadlocks is to eliminate the dependency altogether by using a lock with mutual exclusion. This kind of lock can be used to ensure that a process is able to only access its own resources, not the resources of other processes. This is a great method to prevent deadlocks from being used, and also allows for an increased level of security for your goods and van contents. Escape deadlocks can be put on the inside of a door to permit easy exit in an emergency. They are commonly used in communal doors of multiple occupancy properties, such as flats and student accommodation.
Statement Lock
L4V Statement Locks are mounted externally on the vehicle's doors to the cab. This serves as a visual warning against theft of cargo. The locks can be operated with an external key with high security under the full control of a driver. They are perfect for owners of the business or any business in which the driver must be present in and out of the loading area throughout the day.
The SyncLock statement allows synchronization of the execution of a block of statements by acquiring an exclusive lock on the object referenced by its lockobject expression. When a different thread is in the SyncLock block, it examines the expression lockobject and suspends its execution until the exclusive lock on the object is released. The first thread runs the block of statements. Typically, you place statements that alter data within the SyncLock block to safeguard the data from being modified by more than one thread simultaneously. Statement blocks protected by SyncLock are referred to as critical sections.
The lock type that is to be used in the statement block. Unless specified otherwise the shared lock is the default.
The expression must result in an object that is unique to the current instance or a variable private that does not belong to any instance of your classes. If the expression for lockobject evaluates to a null value, the LOCK statement fails and the program ends with a run-time error message.
If a transaction obtains an intent lock on the table (I) the lock prevents any other transaction from acquiring a Shared Lock or a Write ROW lock for that table so long as the transaction has the intent lock. This is because the intent lock will not allow other transactions to change the table's data.
Anti Peel Kit
The 'peel and steal' attack is one of the most destructive methods thieves use to gain access to your van. By using weight and applying pressure to weak points on the sides of the doors, thieves are able to peel them open, bypassing the lock entirely and stealing your possessions in minutes. To prevent this type of attack, anti peel kits create an physical barrier that is difficult for thieves to penetrate.
Installed easily inside your van, a kit anti peel is an affordable way to increase security for your vehicle and its contents. Together with hook locks this option offers complete protection against break-ins and theft. Additionally anti peel kits are visible deterrents, which will inform thieves that your van is secure and will not be worth the risk of being broken into.
To combat the problem of "peel and steal" attack, Locks 4 Vans has introduced an anti peel kit that can be installed on the front edge of the side load door. This kit reinforces the door skin and, when combined with a hook that is high-L4V lock will increase the resistance of the side load door against peeling by 300 percent.
Hook locks are a great investment for your van and adds an extra layer of protection for your tools and other valuables. Sold Secure has independently tested the locks to ensure that they meet the strictest UK standards. They are tamperproof and highly resistant to drilling and manipulation. They are also ideal for couriers or multi-drop delivery drivers because they don't require keys or remote controls to operate. They are a great alternative to slamlocks and can be easily fitted by professional locksmiths.
Slam Lock
Once your vehicle is shut the slamlock locks it. It is independent of the manufacturer's central locking system and can be opened with a high-security key, meaning that it is more immune to door spread than deadlocks.
It is particularly useful for couriers and multi-drop drivers who might be in and out of their van frequently throughout the day, frequently not locking the doors before leaving. The slam locks are useful to prevent thieves from stealing your cargo.
These locks can be combined with a range of other security upgrades to further protect your vehicle from theft. The L4V anti peel system, for example, can be installed on the barn door of your van and works alongside a high hook lock to reduce the risk of 'peel and steal' attacks.
Another option is a slam latch that can be affixed directly to the vehicle's door frame and operates with the push of the handle button. It's simple to use and easy to use, but it still provides an excellent visual barrier for potential burglars.
No matter if you choose a slam latch or a deadlock, it is essential to locate a reputable supplier to ensure that the locks are installed correctly. The company will be able to provide advice on the best fitment for your vehicle and offer a complete aftercare service as well. You can also go to a tradeshow or exhibition to see the products in the action. Many suppliers provide demonstrations of their product range to help you decide which one is suitable for your commercial vehicle.
