Accurate wide QRS complex tachycardia (WCT) differentiation into either ventricular tachycardia or supraventricular wide complex tachycardia using 12‑lead electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation is essential for diagnostic, therapeutic, and prognostic reasons. There is an ever-expanding variety of WCT differentiation methods and criteria available to clinicians. However, only a few make use of the diagnostic value of comparing the ECG during WCT to that of the patient's baseline ECG. Therefore, we highlight the conceptual rationale and scientific literature supporting the diagnostic value of WCT and baseline ECG comparison.High-strength organic wastewater, e.g., potato juice wastewater, exerts high stress on the environment. This study proposes an integrated system for simultaneous high-strength organic wastewater treatment and nutrients upcycling for astaxanthin production by the combination of anaerobic processes and microalgae (Haematococcus pluvialis) cultivation. The potato juice wastewater was pretreated by either acidification or methanation. The effluents of both pretreatments achieved higher biomass yields of H. pluvialis compared to cultivation in standard culture media (control). The high acetate and potassium concentrations of the acidification effluents resulted in significantly higher astaxanthin production (24.5-27.9 mg g-1, 3 days) compared to the control (14.7 mg g-1, 12 days) in a shorter period. The integrated system contributed to a final removal efficiency of 51.3-75.8%, 86.5-98.3%, and 69.4-83.4% for COD, phosphorus, and ammonia, respectively. This study presents a promising two-stage process for simultaneous efficient methane and astaxanthin production, as well as remediation of high-strength organic wastewater. The development of low-cost biosensors for water monitoring is expected to reduce potential risks from contamination accidents. This study reported a novel micro-microbial electrochemical sensor using combined bioanode and biocathode as the sensing element, characterized by a sequential flowing membrane-free channel and a bilateral passive oxygen supply. A decrease in the ratio of number of bioanode to biocathode resulted in a lower power generation, whereas, achieving a similar or even higher toxic response. The voltage was affected by both the flow rate and the acetate concentration. With the increased acetate concentration, a clear trade-off was observed between the electroactivity stimulation of bioanode vs. the electroactivity maintenance of biocathode. Biosensors made good response to the injection of formaldehyde (10 µL of 0.25%, and 100 µL of 0.025%) into the inlet. Pidnarulex concentration A high microbial diversity was observed. This work can lead to a revolutionizing way of water monitoring using self-powered micro-biosensors.
Preoperative psychological factors have an impact on postoperative outcomes and there is a paucity of research in vascular surgery. The objective of this study was to examine the impact of preoperative psychological factors on short-term postoperative outcomes in an infrarenal endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) cohort.

A prospective, multi-centre observational study was conducted across three vascular units in England. English-speaking participants who were older than 18years, able to provide informed consent and awaiting an elective standard infrarenal EVAR were eligible for the study. A total of 46 patients undergoing elective infrarenal AAA repair were assessed preoperatively with the State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Beck's Depression Inventory (BDI-II) and Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R). Data on five short-term postoperative outcomes was collected and analysed using Spearman's rank correlations.

Higher preoperative anxiety levels (ρ=0.38, p=0.01), and depression scores (ρ=0.36, p=0.02) were moderately correlated with an increased length of postoperative critical care stay. Higher levels of preoperative depression were moderately correlated with greater postoperative opioid analgesia use (ρ=0.34, p=0.02). No correlation was witnessed between optimism scores and postoperative outcomes. No correlation was witnessed with respect to total length of stay, number of complications, or time to mobilisation.

There is a potential link between preoperative psychological well-being and short-term postoperative outcomes in an EVAR cohort. Further work is necessary to validate this link and examine the role of preoperative interventions in optimising the psychological well-being of patients undergoing EVAR.

The effects of CuCl2·2H2O addition and calcination temperature on the microstructures and degradation properties of the obtained products were investigated. Results showed that higher calcination temperature could promote the migration of Cu2+ ions from CuO to the spinel ferrite lattice and occupied octahedral sites. The degradation efficiencies (η) of various types of low-concentration dyes and tetracycline were higher than 95%, which was mainly due to the accelerated generation of OH radicals by the synergistic effect of Fe3+ and Cu2+ ions in octahedral sites of the formed (Mg,Cu,Ni)(Fe,Al)2O4. Moreover, after five consecutive degradation cycles, the η of RhB was still close to 100%, TOC removal efficiency was maintained around 40% and the concentrations of metallic ions in degraded solutions were all lower than the national effluent discharge standard (GB8978-1996), confirming the as-obtained (Mg,Cu,Ni)(Fe,Al)2O4 was an eco-friendly heterogeneous Fenton-like catalyst with excellent stability and reusability. This study may provide an effective reference for large scale preparing efficient heterogeneous Fenton-like catalysts from natural minerals in treating the wastewater contaminated by refractory organics.
