The polymerization behavior of this benzoxazine resin has been investigated using in situ FT-IR and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) measurements, and the thermal-mechanical properties of its corresponding polybenzoxazines are evaluated by DMA and TGA. We show that by controlling the curing process of the oxazine ring, the C=C bond in resveratrol, and the allyl group in RES-al, the cross-linking network of the polybenzoxazine can be manipulated, giving rise to tunable performance of thermosets. As all curable functionalities in RES-al are polymerized, the resulted polybenzoxazine exhibits a good thermal stability with a Tg temperature of 313 °C, a Td5 value of 352 °C, and char yield of 53% at 800 °C under N2.Hepatic cytochrome P450 CYP2E1 is an enzyme engaged in the metabolic biotransformation of various xenobiotics and endobiotics, resulting in both detoxification and/or metabolic activation of its substrates to more therapeutic or toxic products. Elevated hepatic CYP2E1 content is implicated in various metabolic diseases including alcoholic liver disease, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)/nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), diabetes and obesity. While hepatic CYP2E1 elevation is considered essential to the pathogenesis of these liver diseases, our findings in two mouse models of E3 ubiquitin ligase genetic ablation fed a regular lab chow diet, argue that it is not sufficient for triggering NAFLD/NASH. Thus, albeit comparable hepatic CYP2E1 elevation and functional stabilization in these two models upon E3 ubiquitin ligase genetic ablation and consequent disruption of its ubiquitin-dependent proteasomal degradation, NAFLD/NASH was only observed in the mouse livers that exhibited concurrent SREBP1c-transcriptional upregulation of hepatic lipogenesis. Here, we studied the effects of TMZ and/or companion drug dexamethasone (DXM) on the locomotor activity and cartilage structure of elderly Wistar rats (n = 40). Long-term TMZ treatment selectively inhibited the horizontal, but not vertical locomotor activity of the rats (6.7-fold, p less then 0.01) and resulted in delamination of the superficial epiphyseal cartilage of the femoral epiphysis of knee joints, a 2-fold decrease in mean thickness of epiphyseal cartilage (p less then 0.001), and changes in the proliferative and maturation cartilage zones ratio. The simultaneous use of DXM attenuated TMZ-induced changes in cartilage thickness and integrity and compensated the decrease in horizontal locomotor activity of experimental animals. Focusing on the attitude estimation, we propose to fuse a camera with low-cost inertial sensors based on a nonlinear complementary filter design. An implicit geometry measurement model is derived using two feature points in an image. This geometry measurement is fused with the angle rate measurement and vector measurement from inertial sensors using the proposed nonlinear complementary filter with only two parameters to be adjusted. The proposed nonlinear complementary filter is posed directly on the special orthogonal group SO(3). Based on the theory of nonlinear system stability analysis, the proposed filter ensures locally asymptotic stability. A quaternion-based discrete implementation of the filter is also given in this paper for computational efficiency.
