Social constrictions or the lack of a clear awareness about one's sexual orientation may influence the ability of individuals to explicitly declare their sexual preferences. Thus, the actual prevalence of males' sexual attraction toward adult males, which is estimated by studies relying only on explicit questionnaires, may be biased. Conversely, the implicit measurement of androphilia may be a promising method to obtain more reliable data.
In the present work, explicit and implicit methods have been used to investigate the rates of explicit nonheterosexuality and implicit androphilia in a large sample of adult males from all around the world. For implicit androphilia, a rate consistent across the continents and close to that predicted by recent genetic models (about 15%) was expected. In contrast, for self-declared homosexuality, a lower and more variable rate was expected.

Simulation offers radiography students the possibility to experiment with Computed Tomography (CT) in a way not possible in clinical practice. The aim of this work was to test a newly developed simulator 'CTSim' for effectiveness in teaching and learning.
The simulator was tested in two phases. The first phase used a test-retest methodology with two groups, a group that experienced a Simulation based learning intervention and one which did not. The second phase subsequently tested for changes when the same intervention was introduced as part of an existing CT training module.
Phase 1 demonstrated statistically significant improvement of mean scores from 58% to 68% (P<.05) for students who experienced the intervention against no change in scores for the control group. Phase 2 saw mean scores improve statistically significantly in a teaching module from 66% to 73% (P<.05) following the application of the intervention as an active learning component.
The use of the CTSim simulator had a demonstrable effect on student learning when used as an active learning component in CT teaching.

To investigate the self-perception of vocal fatigue symptoms and musculoskeletal pain in home office workers before and during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
A total of 424 individuals participated in this cross-sectional, observational, and descriptive study; they were stratified into the experimental group (EG), consisting of 235 individuals working from home office during the COVID-19 pandemic; and the control group (CG), with 189 individuals who continued to work in person during this period. All participants answered the vocal fatigue index and the musculoskeletal pain investigation questionnaires. The data were analyzed in a descriptive and inferential manner.
Participants in the EG reported more vocal fatigue symptoms and musculoskeletal pain than those in the CG before the pandemic. However, during the pandemic, the EG presented a higher frequency of pain in the posterior of the neck, shoulder, upper back, and temporal and masseter muscles, while the CG presented a higher frequency of pain in the larynx. With regard to vocal fatigue, during the pandemic, EG had an increase in scores to factors such as tiredness and voice impairment, avoidance of voice use, and total scores. No such differences were noted in the CG.

To translate and cross-culturally adapt the Glottal Function Index into the Persian language (GFIp) and validate it in patients with voice disorders.
A cross-sectional and prospective validation design was adopted.
The GFI was translated and culturally adapted into Persian language according to the methodology of standard forward-backward translations to obtain semantic, idiomatic, and conceptual equivalence. One hundred patients with voice disorders (53 men; mean age 41.4 ± 13.6 years) and 40 healthy volunteers (21 women; mean age 36.7 ± 10.0 years) completed the GFIp. Patients with voice disorders also completed the Persian Voice Handicap Index (VHIp) to assess the construct validity.
There were no floor and ceiling effects. Evidence for construct validity was found with a significant very good correlation between the GFIp and the VHIp total scores (r=0.70; P < 0.001). SB590885 inhibitor Differences of GFIp scores between the patients and healthy participants were statistically significant (P < 0.001) confirming discriminant validity. The internal consistency reliability was acceptable for GFIp (Cronbach's α=0.74). Absolute reliability measures of Standard Error of Measurement and the Smallest Detectable Change for GFIp were 2.5 (confidence interval 95%=±4.9) and 6.93, respectively. Factor analysis revealed the GFIp as a single factor instrument.

Efforts to lose, gain, or maintain weight are prevalent among youth and young adults, but little is known about the relationship between weight management efforts and dietary quality. Attempts to manage weight are typically driven by weight perceptions, which may also uniquely affect overall diet.
The objective was to explore sex-stratified associations between weight management efforts and perceptions with dietary quality among youth and young adults.
Cross-sectional online survey data were drawn from Wave 1 (2016) of the Canada Food Study.
Youth and young adults (n= 3,000), aged 16 to 30 years, were recruited from community settings in five Canadian cities and completed the online survey. The analytic sample consisted of 2,040 participants.
The Healthy Eating Index-2015 (HEI-2015) was used to characterize dietary quality among participants who completed a 24-hour recall. Respondents reported their weight change efforts over the past year and their weight perception.
Sex-stratified multiple linear regression analyses were conducted to investigate relationships between each of weight management efforts and perceptions, separately, and dietary quality, controlling for known covariates.
