Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) has attracted increasing attention over the past few decades. We aim to evaluate FAI research and predict research hot spots quantitatively and qualitatively.
The publications in FAI research between 2000 and 2019 were assimilated from the Web of Science Core Collection of Clarivate Analytics. The retrieved data were evaluated by the bibliometric method. Software CiteSpace 5.7.R1, VOSviewer 1.6.15, and the Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology (http//bibliometric.com/) were used to analyze and identify the hot spots and trends in this field.
A total of 2471 originals articles that fulfilled the study requirements were obtained. The number of manuscripts on FAI has experienced rapid growth, especially after 2009. The United States of America was the leading country for publication and to the collaboration network. FAI, osteoarthritis, hip arthroscopy, labral reconstruction, pathomorphology, outcome, rehabilitation, and joint cartilage are some of the high-frequency keywords in co-occurrence cluster analysis and cocited reference cluster analysis. Burst detection analysis of top keywords revealed that outcomes, instability, labral reconstruction, adolescent, and risk factor were newly emerged research hot spots.

In the near future, pediatricians will increasingly encounter severely allergic children undergoing FA-OIT. FA-OIT consists in daily ingestion of increasing doses of the allergen during the up-dosing phase, and ingestion of a constant dose during the maintenance phase. The global aim is to increase the reactive threshold of allergic patients, and finally enable them to ingest a target quantity of allergen without any reaction throughout the treatment (desensitization). Many studies showed the efficacy of FA-OIT in desensitization, and some of them in sustained unresponsiveness. This corresponds to tolerance after FA-OIT discontinuation, especially for cow's milk and hen's egg allergy. However, there is an ongoing debate about the safety of the treatment. Side effects are frequent, notably aversion to the allergen and oral syndromes as well as systemic allergic symptoms. These reactions occur mainly during the up-dosing phase and become less frequent with time, but they are common causes of FA-OIT discontinuation. Patients and their families must be trained to manage these reactions at home. Long-term side effects can also occur, such as eosinophilic esophagitis. Pediatricians play an important role in maintaining patient motivation; they also provide knowledge on possible allergic reactions and the reactogenic cofactors (mainly fever and viral infection, anti-inflammatory intake, physical activity), and refer the patient to the relevant specialists in the case of long-term care. Other routes of administration for food immunotherapy (epicutaneous and sublingual) and different adjuvant treatments (probiotics, anti-IgE molecule) are currently under study. This will allow us to improve the efficacy of immunotherapy and reduce the risk of any side effects, in order to provide a more favorable risk-benefit ratio.The main clinical features of tyrosinemia type 1 usually appear in the first months of life, including fever, diarrhea, vomiting, liver involvement, growth failure, and renal proximal tubulopathy with subsequent hypophosphatemic rickets. Here, we report on two cases referred primarily to pediatric nephrologists for the diagnosis of "neonatal tubulopathy" and management of "X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH)," respectively. Our aim is to emphasize that (1) even a mixed tubulopathy can reveal tyrosinemia, and (2) tyrosinemia is a classic differential diagnosis of XLH that should not be forgotten, especially in the era of the anti-FGF23 burosumab.Focused cardiac ultrasound (FoCUS) can provide critical information quickly to determine the etiology after cardiac arrest and may expedite a diagnosis in order to identify underlying treatable causes. We present a case of reversible acute left ventricular dysfunction after cardiopulmonary resuscitation following attempted suicide by hanging presenting with severe hypoxemia. FoCUS revealed findings consistent with severe left ventricular dysfunction, and point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) ruled out pneumothorax. These findings, in conjunction with the clinical presentation, facilitated an early identification and rapid evaluation of cardiogenic shock; furthermore, they led to the use of FoCUS, which can provide critical information quickly on site for a patient who is suddenly symptomatic after severe mechanical asphyxia in the pediatric emergency department, pediatric intensive care unit, or the prehospital setting.
