These changes may be related to the outstanding capability of speed and coordination caused by long-term ice-skating training. We analyzed the whole-genome sequence of B. paranguensis through NextDenovo, resulting in a total length of 106.2 Mb and 71 contigs. The N50 and the GC content were 4.13 Mb and 28%, respectively. A total of 18,501 genes were predicted within the genome of B. paranguensis. Prominent detoxification-related gene families of phase I and II detoxifications have been investigated. In parallel with other Brachionus rotifers, high gene expansion was observed in CYP clan 3 and GST sigma class in B. paranguensis. Moreover, species-specific expansion of sulfotransferase (SULTs) and gain of UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs) through horizontal gene transfer has been specifically found within B. plicatilis complex. This whole-genome analysis of B. paranguensis provides a basis for molecular ecotoxicological studies and provides useful information for comparative studies of the evolution of detoxification mechanisms in Brachionus spp.
Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a pervasive mental health condition with limited treatment success. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has shown positive outcomes for people with PTSD, using different treatment protocols. This meta-analysis sought to examine which variables in TMS treatment are associated with treatment benefits.

A literature search of major online research databases from inception to September 15, 2020 was conducted to identify primary research studies using TMS to treat PTSD. Treatment effect data and TMS treatment variables were coded and analysed using a random effects model. Meta-regression and analyses of moderating variables were conducted to ascertain which variables were associated with significant treatment effects.

An overall effect size of d=1.17, 95% CI [0.89 - 1.45] for TMS as a treatment for PTSD was found. Analysis of moderators showed that there was a significantly larger treatment effect for high frequency TMS (d=1.44) compared with low frequency (d=0.72), p=.006; there was no significant difference between TMS targeting the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and the right DLPFC; and larger treatment doses were not associated with stronger treatment effects.

The COVID-19 pandemic generates negative psychological effects such as distress. Social influences on subjective distress associated with COVID-19 remain understudied in the Chinese context. Wuhan with its surrounding areas in Hubei province was not only the locale where first COVID-19 cases were detected in the world but was also the hardest hit across China. Data from Hubei provide a unique opportunity to investigate COVID-19-related subjective distress and its social correlates.

We use original data (N=3,465) from the General Social Survey on COVID-19 in Hubei, China, conducted in August 2020. Regression analysis is employed to examine the impact of socioeconomic status, family structure, and social policies on COVID-19-related subjective distress measured by the Impact of Event-Scale-Revised (IES-R).

First, individuals with higher socioeconomic status are not more immune to distress, and actually it is those better-educated ones who are more distressed. Second, family structure influences distress. Divorced and widowed individuals are more prone to distress than those who are married or single. Those living with COVID-19-infected family members or living with a larger family are particularly more distressed. Third, stricter lockdown measures promote real and perceived protection and also increase individuals' psychological distance from the disease, thereby reducing subjective distress.

The sample is not totally random so we should use caution when generalizing the findings to the general population.
