METHODS To investigate the risk of sexual dysfunction in women with IBD, we used data from the Danish National Birth Cohort, a nationwide study of 92,274 pregnant women recruited from 1996-2002. We performed a cross-sectional study based on the mothers who participated in the Maternal Follow-up in 2013-14. Using regression models and adjusting for important confounders, we compared sexual function in women with and without IBD. RESULTS The study population consisted of 38,011 women including 196 (0.5 %) with Crohn's disease (CD) and 409 (1.1 %) with ulcerative colitis (UC). Median age was 44 years. Compared to women without IBD, women with UC did not have significantly decreased sexual function, while women with CD had more difficulty achieving orgasm (adjusted odds ratio (aOR) 1.53; 95% CI 1.02-2.30), increased dyspareunia (aOR 1.71; 95% CI 1.11-2.63) and deep dyspareunia (aOR 2.00; 95% CI 1.24-3.22). The risk for difficulty achieving orgasm and deep dyspareunia was further increased within 2 years of an IBD-related contact/visit ((aOR 1.81; 95% CI 1.11-2.95) and (aOR 2.37; 95% CI 1.34-4.19)). CONCLUSIONS Women with CD have significantly increased difficulty achieving orgasm and dyspareunia. Physicians should be cognizant of and screen for sexual dysfunction in this group of patients. © The Author(s) 2020. The fly has an obligatory pupal diapause in soil from November to March. However, techniques for predicting or determining the emergence of the adult have, thus far, not been well documented. In this study, we investigated the effects of different pre-diapause temperatures (8, 12, 16, and 20°C) and pupal body weight (five groups according to pupal weight G-58, 55.0-61.0 mg; G-68, 65-71 mg; G-78, 75-81 mg; G-88, 85-91 mg; G-95, 92-98 mg) on pupal period (the indicator of diapause intensity). The pupal period of B. minax larvae pupated at 8°C was 193.41 d, which was significantly shorter than that of larvae incubated at higher temperatures, suggesting that there was a lower diapause intensity for larvae pupated at lower pre-diapause temperatures. There were also significant differences in the pupal periods at different pupal body weights. The pupal period of G-58 was significantly shorter than that of the heavier groups (G-88 and G-95), and the pupal period increased with increasing pupal body weight in the five groups. Moreover, the pupal period of B. minax significantly and positively correlated to pupal body weight. These findings demonstrate that the pre-diapause temperature and pupal body weight are suitable indicators for predicting the pupal period of overwintering individuals, and the results of this study will contribute to the development of new and effective strategies for predicting the occurrence and population dynamics of B. minax adult. © The Author(s) 2020. Adults were kept at densities of 0.048, 0.072, 0.096, 0.120, and 0.144 parasitoids/cm2 before release in a México tower, where thermal lethargy was induced at a temperature of 2 ± 2°C for 45 min. Samples of parasitoids were collected to evaluate mortality, survival, fecundity, and flight capacity. All densities showed a similar mortality, both for males (ca. >10%) and females (ca. less then 7). There was no effect of density on survival and flight capacity in both sexes. On the other hand, fecundity increased with density, 1.66 sons/♀/day, similar to the control. We conclude that a density of 30,000 pupae per cage (0.144 parasitoids/cm2) is adequate for the massive prerelease packaging of the parasitoid D. longicaudata. Little is known about their metabolism and studies utilizing LC-QTOF-MS analysis of hepatocyte incubations and/or authentic urine samples does not allow for determination of the exact metabolite structures, especially when it comes to hydroxylated metabolites. In this study seven motifs (2-, 3-, 4- and β-OH as well as 3,4-diOH, 4-OH-3-OMe and 3-OH-4-OMe) of fentanyl and five fentanyl analogues, acetylfentanyl, acrylfentanyl, cyclopropylfentanyl, isobutyrylfentanyl and 4F-isobutyrylfentanyl were synthesized. The reference standards were analyzed by LC-QTOF-MS, which enabled identification of the major metabolites formed in hepatocyte incubations of the studied fentanyls. By comparison with our previous data sets, major urinary metabolites could tentatively be identified. For all analogues, β-OH, 4-OH and 4-OH-3-OMe were identified after hepatocyte incubation. β-OH was the major hydroxylated metabolite for all studied fentanyls, except for acetylfentanyl where 4-OH was more abundant.
