Surgery treating p novo metastatic meningioma of the backbone: A good undervalued gripe for That quality II/III meningiomas.
We also identified candidate CLR responsible for HBsAg binding to cDCs (CD367/DCIR/CLEC4A, CD32/FcɣRIIA) and pDCs (CD369/DECTIN1/CLEC7A, CD336/NKp44) and demonstrated that HBsAg inhibited DC functions in a CLR- and glycosylation-dependent manner.

HBV may exploit CLR pathways to hijack DC subsets and escape from immune control. WS6 Such advances bring insights into the mechanisms by which HBV subverts immunity and pave the way for developing innovative therapeutic strategies to restore an efficient immune control of the infection by manipulating the viral glycan-lectin axis.

Additionally, the large number of approved and trial agents used to treat metastatic RCC likely cause selective adaptations in the tumors. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) is a platform to non-invasively determine the genomic profiles of these tumors. The objectives of the present study were to corroborate previous ctDNA studies in metastatic RCC, to identify novel mutations in metastatic RCC, and to compare ctDNA profiles obtained from plasma and urine in patients with metastatic RCC. ctDNA sequencing using the plasma and urine of 50 patients with metastatic RCC who received ctDNA profiling as part of routine clinical care at a single institution was performed using an investigational 120-gene panel. Genomic alterations (GAs) were identified in all 50 patients. The genes with the most GAs were GNAS, PTEN, MYC, MET and HNF1A and novel mutations in additional genes were identified. A significant correlation between the number of GAs detected in matched urine and plasma samples was also identified, but only 28.1% of GAs detected in plasma samples were also detected in matched urine samples. The results of the present study were consistent with those of the largest previous study of ctDNA from patients with metastatic RCC and may help identify additional potential targets for the treatment of such patients.
Various surgical societies constantly update their recommendations in order to adapt surgical activity on current Pandemic conditions. The aim of this study is to analyze how hospitalizations and emergency operations have changed in our Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences in the Hospital of Foggia during covid-19 pandemic.

Our cohort-study was conducted by analyzing two groups of patients admitted to the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences of the Hospital of Foggia those admitted during the no-covid period from March 09th, 2019 to May 09th, 2019 and those during the covid period from March 09th, 2020 to May 09th, 2020.

A total of 750 patients admitted during the no-covid period of 2019 and 171 during the covid period of 2020, of these 222 were emergency admission during 2019 and 97 during 2020, 528 were elective admission during 2019 and 74 during 2020. Of the emergency admissions (222 during 2019 and 97 during 2020), 91 were operated during the no covid period in 2019 and 52 during the covid period in 2020. The mean Mannheim Peritonitis Index Score, that is a scoring system used in peritonitis which is simple and cost-effective, were 15.6 during the no covid period of 2019 and 22.2 during the covid period of 2020. We observed 29 post-operative complications during 2019 and 26 during 2020.

Contraction of admissions for urgent and emergent conditions in the first period of lockdown has been followed from some positive effects as well as aggravating consequences.

A number of papers exist about post-traumatic silaocele. Iatrogenic sialocele has been described as complication of parotid surgery but there is no specific data about the cases of sialocele and salivary duct surgical injury in condylar fracture management.

A 36-year-old man was reported to the maxillofacial emergency department for mandibular sub-condylar fracture and internal fixation of the sub-condylar fracture was planned. Postoperatively he presented a salivary cyst which was managed by conservative treatment.

Iatrogenic injury to the salivary duct and sialocele formation observed in the post-operative period of surgical treatment of a condylar fracture by sub-angulomandibular approach. Maxillofacial surgeons should be aware of this complication and the importance of adopting a conservative treatment whenever it is possible. Botulinum toxin injections can be performed as a first-line treatment for these complications.

A conservative management was adopted by pressure dressings and percutaneous needle aspiration of the swelling, which was useful to absorb cystic content and helped healing.

Distal Intestinal Obstruction Syndrome is a rare complication in patients with cystic fibrosis, which characterized by the accumulation of viscid fecal material, combined with sticky mucous secretions located in the distal ileum adhere to the intestinal wall, causing complete bowel obstruction.

We report a case of a 45 years old patient with cystic fibrosis, who presented bowel obstruction secondary to accumulation of fecal material, combined with mucous secretions, in the mid-jejunum. A diagnostic laparoscopy was performed where a dilated jejunum was encountered with impaction of fecal content. Surgery was converted to open surgery, where a longitudinal enterotomy of 5 cm after the transition zone was created, evacuating manually the fecal material with mucous secretion. The patient evolved favorably, without complications.

We present a case of a patient with cystic fibrosis presenting with bowel obstruction due to a proximal intestinal obstruction syndrome, which can be diagnosed with the DIOS definition, with the only distinction of a more proximal location in the gastrointestinal tract, such as the stomach, the duodenum, or the jejunum.
