In the life of a lipid droplet, the most important thing is to interact with other organelles, including the endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, peroxisomes, and autophagic lysosomes. The interaction between lipid droplets and other organelles requires them to be close to each other, which inevitably involves the motility of lipid droplets. In fact, through many microscopic observation techniques, researchers have discovered that lipid droplets are highly dynamic organelles that move quickly. This paper reviews the process of lipid droplet motility, focusing on explaining the molecular basis of lipid droplet motility, the factors that regulate lipid droplet motility, and the influence of motility on the formation and decomposition of lipid droplets. In addition, this paper also proposes several unresolved problems for lipid droplet motility. Finally, this paper makes predictions about the future research of lipid droplet motility.A thin-film composite (TFC) polyurea membrane was fabricated for the dehydration of an aqueous tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution through interfacial polymerization, wherein polyethyleneimine (a water-soluble amine monomer) and m-xylene diisocyanate (an oil-soluble diisocyanate monomer) were reacted on the surface of a modified polyacrylonitrile (mPAN) substrate. Cosolvents were used to tailor the membrane properties and increase the membrane permeation flux. Four types of alcohols that differed in the number of carbon (methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, and tert-butanol) were added as cosolvents, serving as swelling agents, to the aqueous-phase monomer solution, and their effect on the membrane properties and pervaporation separation was discussed. Attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed the formation of a polyurea layer on mPAN. Field emission scanning electron microscopy and surface water contact angle analysis indicated no change in the membrane morphology and hydrophilicity, respectively, despite the addition of cosolvents for interfacial polymerization. The TFC membrane produced when ethanol was the cosolvent exhibited the highest separation performance (permeation flux = 1006 ± 103 g·m-2·h-1; water concentration in permeate = 98.8 ± 0.3 wt.%) for an aqueous feed solution containing 90 wt.% THF at 25 °C. During the membrane formation, ethanol caused the polyurea layer to loosen and to acquire a certain degree of cross-linking. The optimal fabrication conditions were as follows 10 wt.% ethanol as cosolvent; membrane curing temperature = 50 °C; membrane curing time = 30 min.Blending polypropylene (PP) with thermoplastic elastomer SEBS can effectively improve the mechanical toughness of PP, thus leading to the promise of SEBS/PP as the primary insulation material for high voltage alternating current (HVAC) cables. However, the growth of electrical trees during cable operation limits the application of SEBS/PP. In this paper, acetylation reaction is used to construct acetophenone group at the end of the benzene ring on SEBS so that it has the effect of both a toughening agent and a voltage stabilizer. Then PP was melt blended with acetylated SEBS (Ac-SEBS), and the effects of Ac-SEBS on the mechanical properties, electrical tree resistance, alternating current (AC) breakdown strength, and dielectric spectrum of PP were mainly investigated with reference to PP and SEBS/PP. The results showed that Ac-SEBS with 30% content could enhance the mechanical toughness of PP and improve the electrical tree resistance and AC breakdown strength of SEBS/PP. The AC breakdown field strength of Ac-SEBS/PP reached the highest when the acetylation level was 4.6%, which was 9.2% higher than that of SEBS/PP. At this time, Ac-SEBS was also able to absorb high-energy electrons through the keto-enol interchange isomerization reaction, which inhibited the initiation and growth of electric trees and caused the development of electric dendrites in a jungle-like manner. Moreover, the dielectric loss factor of AC-SEBS/PP in power frequency is within the allowable range of industry. Therefore, Ac-SEBS/PP is expected to be applied to HVAC cables, thus further improving the efficiency of HVAC power transmission.
