Transversal design. Patients aged ≥ 18 years on treatment with pDAA during 2017 were included. The variables collected were comorbidity, concomitant CNS medication and potential DI. The pDAA analyzed were a) Sofosbuvir/Velpatasvir (SOF/VEL), b) Glecaprevir/Pibrentasvir (GLE/PIB) and c) Sofosbuvir/Velpatasvir/Voxilaprevir (SOF/VEL/VOX). Descriptive statistical analysis. We recruited 1,170 patients (mean age 60.1 years, 56.4% male). Mean concomitant drug use was 3.2 per patient/year. The percentages of potential / possible DI between the DAAs and the concomitant drugs on the CNS were 2.7% contraindications, 11.3% significant and 4.2% weak. By pDAA, the percentages were SOF/VEL (2.7%; 0.0%; 4.4%), GLE/GDP (2.7%; 26.5%; 1.6%) SOF/VEL/VOX (2.7%; 6.8%; 4.4%), respectively. Concomitant CNS medication was used in one third of HCV patients. It is important to select a pDAA with a low rate of potential DI to simplify treatment. SOF/VEL is a good alternative compared with the other pDAA studied, mainly due to the concomitant use of antipsychotics and analgesics.High prevalence of smoking in people with severe mental disorders (SMD) contributes to their medical morbidity and reduced life expectancy. Despite the evidence of gender differences in smoking cessation, few studies have tested those differences among people with SMD. This is a non-randomized, open-label, prospective, 9-month follow-up multicentre trial to examine gender differences in the efficacy, safety and tolerability of a Multi-Component Smoking Cessation Support Programme (McSCSP). The results showed that there were no significant differences in short- (males 44.9% vs females 57.7%, chi-square = 1.112, p = 0.292) or long-term efficacy (week 24 males 40.8%, females 42.3%, chi-square = 0.016, p = 0.901; week 36 males 36.7%, females 38.5%, chi-square = 0.022, p = 0.883) between gender, neither controlled by diagnosis or treatment. Regarding safety and tolerability, there was significant increase in abdominal perimeter in males [from 105.98 (SD 13.28) to 108.52 (SD 14.01), t = -3.436, p = 0.002)], but not in females. However, there were no significant gender differences in adverse events (constipation, abnormal/vivid dreams, nausea/vomiting or skin rash/redness around patch site). In conclusion, we have demonstrated that is effective and safe to help either male or female patients with stabilized SMD to quit smoking. However, it might be a tendency in females to respond better to varenicline treatment in the short term. Future research with larger samples is required to more clearly determine whether or not the there are differences, in addition to their reliability and robustness.The alcohol use perceptions young people have of those close to them can affect their expectations regarding alcohol and, thus, their own drinking. We aim to identify the predictive ability of own and significant others' perceived drinking at age 18-19 in the alcohol use patterns at 27-28. A cohort study was carried out among university students in Spain (n=1,382). Binge Drinking (BD) and Risky Consumption (RC) were measured with the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test at ages 18, 20, 22, 24 and 27. Multilevel logistic regression for repeated measures was used to calculate the adjusted Odds Ratios (ORs). College students perceive their family's alcohol consumption as very low or nothing, while the perception of their own alcohol use or that of their friends is higher. Perceiving higher alcohol use among their siblings and friends increases the risk of BD for both sexes and RC for women. Living away from the parental home increases the risk of RC and BD. In conclusion, the perception of their friend's alcohol use at age 18-19 is the most influential variable in BD among both sexes and in RC among men throughout 10 years of follow-up.
