L4V Hook Lock
L4V's Statement lock is a surface mounted van lock designed to secure doors with side loading against the threat of 'peel and steal'. It is mounted externally to hold the door in place, and also acts as visual deterrent.
It is controlled by an ultra-secure key. It functions independently of the manufacturer's locking system. Kits are vehicle door specific and include UV stabilised black nylon exterior trims.
Hook Locks
Van hook locks are separate of the locking system that is installed on your side-load doors and tailgates. They are fitted with a hook-style bolt that locks into the receiving keep, and can be locked by hand using a high-security key. This gives a high degree of security from "Peel and steal" that is where thieves forcefully open the side-loading doors and take away items.
van security hook locks are a popular security option for vans of all sizes, and can be fitted to the sides of the rear and side load barn doors and doors to the cab and tailgate. They are also available in a variety of colours, so that you can pick the one that matches the color scheme of your van and is the most visible deterrent against thieves.
Another great way to increase the security of your van is to install the Slam lock. This is perfect for couriers or other situations where the door has to close immediately after closing. The Slam lock makes use of an array of internal and external components to minimize the chance of doors for side load being opened or ripped off. It is typically paired with an L4V hook lock that is placed on the lower position of your vehicle's doors. This is the most effective method to avoid the most common van thefts.
For a complete security solution for your van, you can also combine the slam lock with L4V's Anti-Peel kit. The slamlock as well as L4V's solid Anti-Peel plate are paired to decrease the risk of the side loading door of your van being peeled. This is the most frequent method used to steal expensive tools and equipment from the back of vans, and the anti-peel kit has been independently tested to increase the resistance by 3000%.
Deadlocks
Deadlocks happen when processes within the same process or between processes compete for resources, which results in circular dependencies. Operating systems should be aware of deadlocks since they waste resources and decrease overall performance of the system. Many operating systems utilize resource allocation and process scheduling algorithms to identify and prevent deadlocks.
If a process is stuck in a deadlock, it is unable to move forward until it gets the resource it needs. For example, if P1 is holding tape drive R1 and waiting for the release of the same drive by process P2, then it is in a deadlock. If either process releases the resource it holds it will then take it and enter a deadlock too.
There are a variety of ways to avoid or solve a deadlock. The most common way to resolve deadlocks is through deadlock detection. This algorithm locates the deadlock by looking for cycles on the resource-allocation graph. The Banker's Algorithm analyzes the state of a process through analyzing the current resource.
Another method to avoid deadlocks is to prevent the dependence completely by using a lock that has mutual exclusion. This type of lock is used to ensure that a particular process is able to only access its own resources, not the resources of other processes. This is an efficient way to keep deadlocks out and offers greater security for your goods and van's contents. Escape deadlocks may also be put on the inside of doors to allow easy exit in an emergency. They are typically installed on doors that are shared by multi-occupancy buildings like student accommodation and flats.
Statement Lock
L4V Statement Locks are mounted externally on the vehicle's cab doors. This acts as an effective visual deterrent to any potential theft of cargo. These locks are operated by a high-security external key under the full control of the driver, making them suitable for owners of the vehicle and all tasks where the driver will require to be in and out of the loading area all day.
The SyncLock statement is used to synchronize the execution of a block of statements by having an exclusive lock placed on the object that is referenced by its lockobject expression. When another thread enters the SyncLock block, it evaluates the lockobject expression and suspends its execution until the exclusive lock on the object is released. The first thread then executes the statement block. SyncLock blocks are typically used to contain statements that alter data. This prevents the data from being modified by multiple threads simultaneously. Statement blocks that are protected by SyncLock are referred to as critical sections.
The lock type that is to be acquired for the statement block. Unless specified by the user, the default is a shared lock.
The lockobject expression should evaluate to an object that is unique to the current instance or a variable private that does not belong any instances of your classes. If the expression for lockobject evaluates to a null value, the LOCK statement fails and the program terminates with a run-time error message.
If a transaction acquires an intent lock (I) on a table, it prevents other transactions from acquiring a WRITE or Shared Row LOCK on that table if the transaction has the intent lock. This is because an intent lock blocks other transactions from changing the data in the table.
Anti Peel Kit
The "peel and take" attack is among the most dangerous methods thieves use to gain access to your van. By using weight and applying pressure on weak points on the doors' sides the thieves can break them open, thereby bypassing the lock entirely and stealing your contents in a matter of minutes. Anti peel kits are designed to ward off this kind of attack. They create physical barriers that are difficult for thieves penetrate.
It can be easily installed inside your van, a kit anti peel is a cost-effective way to improve security for your vehicle and its contents. This solution, when combined with hook locks, provides complete protection against burglaries and theft. Anti peel kits are visible deterrents that warn thieves that your vehicle is secure and isn't worth the risk to break into.
To stop "peel and steal" attack, Locks 4 Vans has introduced an anti peel kit that can be fitted to the front edge of the vehicle's side load door. This solution reinforces the door's skin and when coupled with a high-quality L4V hooklock it can improve the side load door's resistance to peeling by 300 percent.
A hook lock is an excellent investment for your van and adds an extra layer of security for your tools and other valuables. They are tamper-proof and highly resistant to manipulation and drilling and have been independently tested by Sold Secure to meet the UK's highest standards. These locks are also an excellent choice for couriers or multi-drop delivery drivers because they don't require keys or remote controls to operate. They're a great alternative to slamlocks, and can be installed by locksmiths.
Slam Lock
As soon as your vehicle is closed the slamlock locks it. It is independent of the central locking system of the manufacturer and can only be opened with an extremely secure key. This makes it more resistant to door spreading than a deadlock.
This is especially useful for couriers or multi-drop drivers who be in and out of their vans frequently during the day and forget to lock them prior to leaving. Opportunist thieves are always on the lookout for those instances when vehicles are vulnerable, and a slam lock can prevent them from stealing your cargo.
They can also be used in conjunction with a variety of other security enhancements to further safeguard your vehicle from theft. The L4V anti peel kit, for instance, could be installed on the barn door of your van. It works alongside an high hook lock to reduce the risk of "peel and steal" attacks.
A slam lock can be another alternative. It can be mounted directly on the door frame of the vehicle and operated by pressing a handle button. It is a convenient and easy-to-use lock, but still offers a strong visual deterrent for criminals who might be looking to steal.
If you decide to go with either a slam lock or a deadlock, it is essential to locate a reputable supplier to make sure that the locks are fitted correctly. The company should also be able provide a comprehensive aftercare service and guidance on the right fitment for your car. Alternatively, you can visit an exhibition or trade show to see the products in action. Many companies offer demonstrations of their product range to help you determine which one is right for your commercial vehicle.
