The oil-water relative permeability is an important parameter to characterize the seepage law of fluid in extra-low-permeability reservoirs, and it is of vital significance for the prediction and evaluation of the production. The pore throat size of extra-low-permeability reservoirs is relatively small, and the threshold pressure gradient and capillary pressure cannot be negligible. In this study, the oil-water relative permeability experiments with three different displacement pressures were carried out on the same core from the extra-low-permeability reservoir of Chang 4+5 formation in Ordos basin by the unsteady experimental method. The results show that the relative permeability of oil increases, while the relative permeability of water remains unchanged considering the capillary pressure and oil threshold pressure gradient compared with the JBN method. As the displacement pressure enlarges, the relative permeability of oil and water both increases; the residual oil saturation decreases, therefore the range of the two-phase flow zone is improved. Moreover, the isotonic point of water-oil relative permeability curves moves to the upper right region, and the reference permeability improves as well with the increasing pressure.Complete separation of chemicals in a complex mixture is far from being achieved even with the current high-performance separation technology, such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). NU7441 order Several deconvolution techniques based on multivariate curve resolution (MCR), or model peak methods, which are represented by AMDIS, have been developed to address the above-mentioned issue. The model peak methods have been developed to provide easy-to-use tools, including AMDIS, but are limited for MCR with approximation methods. The objective of this study was to provide an easy-to-use deconvolution tool based on the MCR approach for GC-MS data. The spectral deconvolution tool based on non-negative matrix factorization (NMF), which calculates outputs using an approximation method, was implemented as a free web platform, namely, GC Mixture Touch, clarifying the effects of the parameters required for the deconvolution. The GC Mixture Touch was applied to the actual mixture sample of road dust spiked with chemical standards. The recommended parameter settings for smoothing of the chromatogram, the number of ranks, and the NMF algorithm for the deconvolution were clarified through the study. The performance with the suggested parameters was evaluated with respect to compound identification for the actual sample. All of the test compounds in the sample were correctly identified with the GC Mixture Touch, outperforming AMDIS with respect to the identification. The GC Mixture Touch is easy to use on the web even for users without programming skills. This is expected to enhance the application of the NMF-based deconvolution, and it should prove helpful in finding the compounds hidden in complex mixtures that are difficult to find using conventional approaches.Functional modified cellulose microsphere (CMs) materials exhibit great application potential in drug various fields. Here, we designed pH-responsive carboxylated cellulose microspheres (CCMs) by the citric/hydrochloric acid hydrolysis method to enhance oral bioavailability of insulin by a green route. The CMs were high purity cellulose that dissolved and regenerated from a green solvent by the green sol-gel method. The prepared microspheres were characterized by spectroscopic techniques, such as field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XPS), etc. The spherical porous structure and carboxylation of cellulose were confirmed by FESEM and FT-IR, respectively. Insulin was loaded into the CCMs by electrostatic interactions, and the insulin release was controlled through ionization of carboxyl groups and proton balance. In vitro insulin release profiles demonstrated the suppression of insulin release in artificial gastric fluid (AGF), while a significant increase at artificial intestinal fluid (AIF) was observed. The insulin release profile was fitted in Korsmeyer-Peppas kinetic model, and insulin release was governed by the Fickian diffusion mechanism. The stability of the secondary structure of insulin was studied by dichroism circular. Excellent biocompatibility and no cytotoxicity of designed CCMs cast them as a potential oral insulin carrier.Rapid, accurate, and low-cost detection of SARS-CoV-2 is crucial to contain the transmission of COVID-19. Here, we present a cost-effective smartphone-based device coupled with machine learning-driven software that evaluates the fluorescence signals of the CRISPR diagnostic of SARS-CoV-2. The device consists of a three-dimensional (3D)-printed housing and low-cost optic components that allow excitation of fluorescent reporters and selective transmission of the fluorescence emission to a smartphone. Custom software equipped with a binary classification model has been developed to quantify the acquired fluorescence images and determine the presence of the virus. Our detection system has a limit of detection (LoD) of 6.25 RNA copies/μL on laboratory samples and produces a test accuracy of 95% and sensitivity of 97% on 96 nasopharyngeal swab samples with transmissible viral loads. Our quantitative fluorescence score shows a strong correlation with the quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) Ct values, offering valuable information of the viral load and, therefore, presenting an important advantage over nonquantitative readouts.Low power consumption is essential for wearable and internet-of-things applications. An effective way of reducing power consumption is to reduce the operation voltage using a very thin and high-dielectric gate insulator. In an oxide thin-film transistor (TFT), the channel layer is an oxide material in which oxygen reacts with metal to form a thin insulator layer. The interfacial oxidation between the gate metal and In-Ga-Zn oxide (IGZO) was investigated with Al, Ti, and Mo. Positive bias was applied to the gate metal for enhanced oxygen diffusion since the migration of oxygen is an important factor in interfacial oxidation. Through interfacial oxidation, a top-gate oxide TFT was developed with low source-drain voltages below 0.5 V and a gate voltage swing less than 1 V, which provide low power consumption.
