Using Hook Locks to Secure the Contents of Your Van
Hook locks are an excellent method to increase the security of your van. They are easy to set up and operate independently of your van's main locking system.
Gunnebo Industries (now Crosby) created the self-locking hook in order to enhance the safety of construction sites. The hooks snap shut under load to stop snatching and falling off overhead lines.
Loop Wire Hook Locks
These mechanical locking hooks are designed to secure items and accessories. hook lock van work with loop wire hooks, preventing theft. These locks are designed to be used with HandiWALL or other pegboards compatible with them. They automatically lock merchandise in place and can also be released manually by pressing down on the spring-loaded lock. They are a cost-effective alternative to magnetic hooks and can be moved without the need for tools.
Hook and loop fastener (commonly known as Velcro) comprises two components. The "hook" side is comprised of tiny, stiff hooks and the "loops" side is comprised of loops that are soft, fuzzy. When pressed together, these elements form a strong yet flexible bond. These fasteners can be used for a variety of purposes such as bundling cables for automotive, electronics, and other fields.
George de Mestral developed the hook-and-loop fastener that was invented in 1941. While on a hunting trip in the Alps in the Alps, he noticed burrs of burdock which stuck to his clothing and animal fur and he realized they were brimming with tiny hooks that were caught by loops that were found on fabrics and other surfaces. De Mestral was influenced by this and came up with the idea to create a fastener with hooks and loops that would tie materials in a reversible way. After a few trials and experiments, he devised a mechanized manufacturing process and picked nylon as the material. The product was put into commercial production with the VELCRO name.
The self-locking feature of these hooks makes them very easy to install, as they latch themselves as soon as the load is put under tension. This feature prevents unintended releases and provides an additional layer of security for lifting. These wire hooks that lock are able to be connected to chain grade 10 by using a connecting links or to webbing using web-sling connectors. They can also connect to other hardware, such as pins. These hooks can be secured with a choice of pressure-sensitive adhesives that will meet your application needs. They come in various sizes to accommodate various types of cable and chain.
Magnetic Hook Locks
Magnetic hook locks use the form of a disc with an integrated magnet that sticks to ferrous surfaces, such as metal. Once the base has been attached to the hook, you can't take it off until you take off the cap of the magnetic key. Then apply the magnetic force on the top of lock body (where the label reads "6 mm") Magnetic hook locks are ideal for pegboard, slatwall or gridwall hooks with a greater diameter. They can slip off of hooks with smaller diameters. The lock is powered by DC power, and comes with either one or two coils that create the magnetic force required to keep the hook in the right position.
Magnetic door locks, also known as mag locks, are a popular security option for commercial and industrial spaces. When energized by electromagnetic force, they lock doors by attracting an electromagnet to an armature plate affixed to the frame. Depending on the size the lock and the voltage that it is operating at, the strength of the magnetic force can vary from 250kg up to 1000kg.
Commercial magnetic locks are often "fail-safe" and will unlock when power is cut off to ensure that people are able to get out in the event an emergency or interruption to the electrical supply. These locks are also commonly used to secure doors that go into areas with dangerous or sensitive materials, and prevent unauthorized access.
Electric strike door locks, on the other hand are usually installed as part of an access control system to allow or restrict access based on the requirements for identity, credentials and schedules. They can be triggered by a variety of methods including cards, fobs proximity readers, keypads, and PINs to open. Before deciding on the ideal locking mechanism for your company, it's important to evaluate the various types. This guide will discuss the advantages and drawbacks of both types, and help you weigh the pros and cons so that you can make an informed choice that's right for your needs.
Locks for Stainless Steel Hooks
These hook locks are made of Stainless Steel, which is robust and resistant to corrosion. They are an essential part of the Crosby Group's range of self-closing hooks to improve safety on construction sites. Also known as a latch hook or safety hook, they close whenever there is an object on them, which reduces the risk of worker accidents.
These rigging hooks are more durable than spring latches used on the standard sling hooks. Equipment in the construction industry is subjected to a lot wear and tear. This can result in damage to the spring latches, or, even more damagingly it could cause them to break off the hook. If this happens the hook needs to be removed from use until a replacement that is compliant is available. With a forged latch, that is a vital part of the hook's body, it is unlikely to occur.
Crosby Shur-Loc hooks and Gunnebo Industries have recessed triggers to prevent your thumb from being snagged by the latch when you open the latch. This is a problem that occurs frequently with hooks of poor quality. The Gunnebo Industries Hook also has a stopper for rotation that prevents the latch from turning downwards towards your thumb when you are opening it.
Another benefit of the Stainless steel hook lock is that it can be key locked for added security. This feature is helpful in situations where the lock must be kept away from reach. For example in a service area or tool room on the ute tray. The locks can be put in regular holes on wood, metal and masonry doors. The locks are made of Grade 304 Stainless Steel and have a square forend, strike plate and latch as well as a follower. Forend and strike plates can be cut to the size needed for the perfect fit. These latches are available with or without key cylinders.
Brass Hook Locks
A brass hook lock is an easy and effective method to secure the contents of your van. It will stop thieves from breaking the door to gain access to your goods. It can also be used as an additional layer of security to prevent thieves from attempting to gain entry into your vehicle using force.
Brass door hook locks are available in a range of timeless finishes that match the architectural style and decor of your home. They can be put on French doors, cupboards and even outdoor areas like sheds and garden gates. They are a great option for keeping gates and doors open or closed. They can be locked with a key or padlock to protect your valuables.
The way they function is similar to pin cylinders with the central core or plug that has to be turned to unlock the lock. The plug is stopped from turning by a series of pins that block it. They are divided into pairs, with the top pair, known as the driver pins, and the bottom ones called the key pins. When the right key is in place and the splits in these pairs are aligned along the ledge at the point at which the plug comes into contact with the housing of lock (called the "shear line") and allows the plug to turn.
To select a brass lock hook you must apply pressure or torque on the plug and then lift each pin in a particular order or sequence. When all the pins are lifted, they create an opening between the plug and the housing that can be cut with a shear tool or a lever lock pick. When the shearline has been created it is possible to remove the key from the lock and then open it.
