The bacterium Coxiella burnetii has been associated with reproduction disorders in dairy cattle. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Québec, Canada, to estimate the prevalence of C. burnetii in dairy cows from C. burnetii RT-PCR-positive and/or ELISA-positive herds. As a secondary objective, the associations between C. burnetii-positivity and three reproductive outcomes (purulent vaginal discharge, cytological endometritis, and success at first service) were assessed. A total of 202 post-parturient dairy cows from nine herds were sampled at 35 ± 7 days in milk. Vaginal mucus and composite milk were collected from each cow and screened for the presence of C. burnetii by real-time PCR (RT-PCR) and ELISA, respectively. Purulent vaginal discharge and cytological endometritis were evaluated using a Metricheck device and a modified cytobrush, respectively. The first insemination postpartum was done following an ovulation synchronization protocol around 70 days in milk, and success at first service was recordeduction disorders in dairy cattle.
To describe the spatio-temporal dynamics and interactions during linguistic and memory tasks.
Event-related electrocorticographic (ECoG) spectral patterns obtained during cognitive tasks from 26 epilepsy patients (aged 9-60 y) were analyzed in order to examine the spatio-temporal patterns of activation of cortical language areas. ECoGs (1024Hz/channel) were recorded from 1567 subdural electrodes and 510 depth electrodes chronically implanted over or within the frontal, parietal, occipital and/or temporal lobes as part of their surgical work-up for intractable seizures. Six language/memory tasks were performed, which required responding verbally to auditory or visual word stimuli. Detailed analysis of electrode locations allowed combining results across patients.
Transient increases in induced ECoG gamma power (70-100Hz) were observed in response to hearing words (central superior temporal gyrus), reading text and naming pictures (occipital and fusiform cortex) and speaking (pre-central, post-central and sub-central cortex).
Between these activations there was widespread spatial divergence followed by convergence of gamma activity that reliably identified cortical areas associated with task-specific processes.
The combined dataset supports the concept of functionally-specific locally parallel language networks that are widely distributed, partially interacting in succession to serve the cognitive and behavioral demands of the tasks.

Maternal self-efficacy in breastfeeding may be undermined by common mental health difficulties in the postpartum, leading to an early breastfeeding cessation. HG6-64-1 nmr The relationship may also be the opposite problems with effective breastfeeding and breastfeeding cessation may increase the postpartum mental health difficulties. The purpose of this study was the assessment of the effectiveness of lactation consultations in strengthening the breastfeeding self-efficacy and maternal postpartum mental health.
160 Polish women (90 consultation participants and 70 controls) completed a structured interview, the General Health Questionnaire, and the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale twice before lactation consultation and one month later.
Research was conducted in the city of Gdańsk, Poland.
Study revealed that women seeking lactation support exhibited greater mental health difficulties while their breastfeeding self-efficacy was similar to the control group. Initial breastfeeding self-efficacy was negatively correlated with the severity of the postpartum mental health problems. One month after lactation consultations, a significant increase in the breastfeeding self-efficacy and significantly reduced symptoms of mental health difficulties (somatic symptoms, functional disorders, and anxiety and insomnia) were observed among mothers.
Women willing to benefit from the lactation consultations may exhibit symptoms of mental health difficulties that may be associated with difficulties in breastfeeding. Strengthening the breastfeeding confidence during lactation consultations, may reflect in the improvement of the woman's mental health.
Midwives and lactation consultants can make a difference in the mental health promotion by offering breastfeeding interventions which address the emotional needs of a mother.

Results from 81 participants with epilepsy support a one-factor solution, consisting of 12 items, indicating a satisfactory structure and reliability with an alpha coefficient of 0.92. Criterion validity of the instrument was supported by moderate correlations with outcomes predicting quality of life, PF in the general population, depressive symptoms, and anxiety symptoms. Number of seizures in the past three and 12 months was positively correlated with scores on the PFEQ. These findings are consistent with the instrument's underlying theory. Further development and investigation of the PFEQ is recommended, as the preliminary results of the questionnaire suggest that the scale has the potential to be a valuable contribution to the future exploration of the role of PF in epilepsy. The Instituto Nacional de Neurología y Neurocirugía "Manuel Velasco Suárez" (INNN) is one of the main institutions in Latin America treating epilepsy; and bibliometric analysis has an increasing role in analyzing the literature, acting as a Google Maps of medical research. We tracked the scientific output in Scopus and the impact of the institution from its foundation to July 2020 in the field of epilepsy. We roughly separated this group by clinical and experimental approach, identifying core journals, type of article, increase with time, and number of citations. A total of 228 papers, from a total of 3,034 produced by the INNN in that period, were found. Additionally, we identified that neurocysticercosis, pharmacology, genetics, and proteins involved in epilepsy were the most investigated topics. Also, there is a sustained growth in the number of papers per year since 1985. The number of authors per paper ranges from one to 15, and neuroscience journals are the preferred target of researchers, with a predilection for "Epilepsy and Behavior".
