Turn off your computer first, then disconnect the keyboard, if you can. This will prevent you from making mistakes while working on the keyboard. Find a space where you can arrange all of the keys. This will make it much easier to attach the keys once you're finished.
If you don't have a keycap remover tool, try using a flathead screwdriver or butter knife. You could also use a paperclip bent into the shape of a "U-shape" to secure it under the key. Once you have removed the cap from the key, wash them off and wipe down the switcheswitch.
You can also clean the key stems. These are the tiny towers that stick out of the faceplate. Make use of a cotton swab, dipped in isopropyl alcohol to clean off any debris on the faceplate. Avoid getting alcohol on the printed area of the key because it may damage it.
Reattach the key after washing it. Start at the top left corner, then proceed down the rows one key at a. If you're using a new cap set it up with the key switch and press evenly across all sides.
When you're reattaching the cap be aware of larger keys such as the space bar and enter. These keys are attached to a bar of metal that can easily be damaged if not careful. After you've put all the keycaps back on the keyboard and tested the keys by pressing down on them. You should hear a click and feel the key moving normally when it's reattached properly. If not, you may have to try again reattaching it or take it to an expert.
2. Clean the key
It could be for a variety of reasons that a key feels mushy or sticky, however, most often it's because the key hasn't been set properly in its base or key mechanism. For keyboards on desktops, the easiest way to solve this is to use a sharp prying tool like a butter knife or flathead screwdriver to break the corner of the key loose. You'll hear a snap when the key is removed and you can clean it with water or alcohol to clean it. If your keys have rust and are dirty, you can clean them using lemon and salt. You can also soak keys in a solution of vinegar and water.
Close your computer and unplug it if you need to. It is essential to ground yourself as well, because the last thing you would want to do is damage electronic components by static electricity.
Begin by wiping the key and its surroundings with a lint-free cloth. Make sure to wring it out thoroughly to ensure that there isn't any moisture between the keys. Use a mild cleaning solution as stronger cleaners may cause damage to the plastic.
Use a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol to clean the edge of the key. Be careful not to spill any alcohol on the printed area because this could cause discoloration or even strip the letters off your keys.
You can also buy an electronics cleaning brush at an ordinary retailer. This will allow you to remove stubborn dirt and debris. Finally, there are many products available in the form of a slimy gel, which can be laid over your keyboard, then peeled off to remove any loose debris from between your keys.

3. Reattach the keycap
We rarely think about the keys to our car until they break or locked inside the car. It can be a huge headache, but you can repair it and save money.
The first step is to try using a can of compressed air to blast away any debris or dust that may be blocking the key switch. If this doesn't work you, try prying off the cap and cleaning it.
Make sure electronic car key repair use a plastic prying item like a credit card or a Spudger (you could also make use of a butter knife in an emergency). You should also have a small tool such as the toothpick or tweezers for cleaning the tiny grooves in the key.
After you've cleaned the key, you can reattach the keycap and test it. If the key doesn't respond, you may need to replace your key switch.
If your keyboard is old or the switch is damaged, you'll need to buy a replacement. You can fix it by soldering it. This is a complicated fix, but it's usually the only option if the key no longer works.
One of the most frequent reasons for a key to stop working is due to dust accumulation beneath the key. You can clean the area to remove any dirt and debris.
Another reason that can cause a key to cease working is that the switch that controls it has corroded. This can happen when water or other liquid gets into the key switch. It can cause corrosion, which can eventually eat the pins and connectors of the circuit board.
You can prevent this by cleaning the circuit board before replacing the key. This will help to make the switch more resistant to corrosion, and it will also make it easier to pop out and then solder in a new key switch.
If you're not confident fixing the laptop yourself, you can take it to an repair shop for electronics. They'll be able to inform you if your key switch can be saved, and they'll be in a position to replace it if necessary.
4. Test the key
It can be frustrating and even dangerous when a key won't work to start your car. If you require a new key fob it can be costly. However, before you rush out to the auto shop or to an electronics store there are some quick solutions you can test. It is recommended to first try an alternative key to verify that it's your original key that's causing the issue. This will help you narrow down the problem and save money in the end.
If the key does not work, you must take it apart to see what the problem is. The majority of keys are made up of three components that are the key cap, the key carriage, and the key pad. Each of these parts could cause different issues with the key. The cap on the key could be loose or tilted. This can stop the key from snapping into position when you press the key. This can be corrected by replacing the cap.
A dirty or damaged key pad or key carriage is a different possibility. These parts are difficult to fix, but they can be cleaned with the help of a toothpick or tweezer. You should be careful not to harm any internal parts as this could cause the key to stop working completely.
You can also do a key-rollover test. This is a test that examines whether or not a key can register a variety of keys simultaneously. This can be done by pressing several keys at once and then determining whether they all register correctly. If any keys don't register, you may have to clean them or replace them.
Finally, you can replace the battery in your key fob. This is an easy and cheap method of testing your key, and will aid in determining if the problem is due to the battery being dead or a broken ignition switch.
