In this work, WO3-TiO2, chitosan-blended WO3-TiO2, and garlic-loaded WO3-TiO2 nanocomposites were synthesized by the sol-gel and precipitation technique. The synthesized nanocomposites were characterized by XRD, FE-SEM, HR-TEM, EDX, UV-DRS, FT-IR, and TG-DTA analysis. The photocatalytic efficiency of the three synthesized nanocomposites on the degradation of dyes such as rhodamine B (Rh-B), methylene blue (MB), and methyl orange (MO) as organic pollutants was evaluated under solar light irradiation. The results show that garlic-loaded WO3-TiO2 nanocomposites act as an excellent photocatalyst than chitosan-blended WO3-TiO2 and WO3-TiO2 nanocomposites. Further, the antimicrobial activity of the synthesized nanocomposites was examined against Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli) by the well diffusion method. Garlic-loaded WO3-doped TiO2 nanocomposites have demonstrated good antibacterial activity over chitosan-blended WO3-TiO2 nanocomposites and WO3-TiO2 nanocomposites. The possible reason may be the presence of organic sulfur compounds in garlic.The effective removal of chlorine ion from the desulfurization slurry is of great significance to the stable operation of the desulfurization system. Modified fly ash hydrotalcites were prepared by alkali/acid-combined roasting and microwaving and used as an adsorbent for chlorine ion in desulfurized wastewater. The specific surface area and porosity of different adsorbents were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The impacts of pH, temperature, adsorbent dosage, and adsorption shaking time on adsorption performance were investigated. Results showed the alkali-combined roasting-modified fly ash hydrotalcite has the optimum removal effect on Cl-. The optimal adsorption performance was achieved when the pH was 8, the adsorption temperature was 60 °C, the mass concentration of adsorbent was 10 g/L, the adsorption shaking time was 180 min, and the removal percentage of Cl- was 68.1%. The adsorption isotherm was consistent with the Langmuir isotherm model, and the adsorption saturation was 694.4 mg/g, which belonged to monolayer adsorption.Early diagnosis and therapy are crucial to control disease progression optimally and achieve a good prognosis in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Previous study showed that a technetium-99m (99mTc)-labeled TSPO ligand (99mTc-CB256 [2-(8-(2-(bis(pyridin-2-yl)methyl)amino)acetamido)-2-(4-chlorophenyl)H-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl)-N,N-dipropylacetamide] composed of a translocator protein (TSPO) ligand CB86 [[2-(4-chlorophenyl)-8-amino-imidazo[1,2-a]-pyridin-3-yl]-N,N-di-n-propylacetamide] and di-(2-picolyl)amine, a bifunctional chelate agent, was used to image a TSPO-rich cancer cell in vitro; however, few 99mTc-CB256 in vivo evaluation has been reported so far probably due to the cytotoxicity of CB256 (ca. 75 times more than analogous CB86). Herein, we describe a novel TSPO targeting radiopharmaceutical consisting of CB86 and diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA), a conventional bifunctional chelating ligand in clinical trials used to prepare 99mTc-labeled CB86, and its evaluation as a 99mTc-single-photon emissior than those of the normal tissues. check details 99mTc-SPECT imaging studies revealed that 99mTc-DTPA-CB86 could clearly identify the left inflammatory ankle with good contrast at 30-180 min after injection. Therefore, 99mTc-DTPA-CB86 may be a promising probe for arthritis 99mTc-SPECT imaging.Herein, we have successfully constructed a solid-state Z-scheme photosystem with enhanced light absorption capacity by combining the optoelectrical properties of AgNPs with those of the MoS2/RGO/NiWO4 (Ag-MRGON) heterostructure. The Ag-MRGON Z-scheme system demonstrates improved photo-electrochemical (PEC) water-splitting performance in terms of applied bias photon-to-current conversion efficiency (ABPE), which is 0.52%, and 17.3- and 4.3-times better than those of pristine MoS2 and MoS2/NiWO4 photoanodes, respectively. The application of AgNPs as an optical property enhancer and RGO as an electron mediator improved the photocurrent density of Ag-MRGON to 3.5 mA/cm2 and suppressed the charge recombination to attain the photostability of ∼2 h. Moreover, the photocurrent onset potential of the Ag-MRGON heterojunction (i.e., 0.61 VRHE) is cathodically shifted compared to those of NiWO4 (0.83 VRHE), MoS2 (0.80 VRHE), and MoS2/NiWO4 heterojunction (0.73 VRHE). The improved PEC water-splitting performance in terms of ABPE, photocurrent density, and onset potential is attributed to the facilitated charge transfer through the RGO mediator, the plasmonic effect of AgNPs, and the proper energy band alignments with the thermodynamic potentials of hydrogen and oxygen evolution.Critical micelle concentration (cmc) is a key parameter of generally used surfactants, and many experimental techniques like tensiometry, conductivity, spectrophotometry, fluorometry, etc. for its determination have been reported. However, these contemporary methods for cmc determination are tedious, are time-consuming, are sensitive, and require sophisticated instrumentation. Herein, we demonstrate that the cmc of the surfactants can be estimated via monitoring the variation in the apparent weight of a density bottle floating in a surfactant solution as a function of surfactant concentration. The proposed method requires the use of a simple weighing balance; a cost-affordable instrument always available in scientific laboratories. The proposed method is simple to execute and does not require any complicated data analysis procedures. As an experimental proof attached to the claim, we demonstrate the estimation of the cmcs of all types of surfactants, viz., anionic, cationic, and nonionic, through the formulated method. The results obtained in terms of cmc values of the chosen surfactants closely match those reported through the use of different standardized protocols. The formulated experimental protocol is desirable in terms of the simplicity of the protocol, accuracy, and reproducibility of the results, and cost and accessibility of the required instrument. All these attributes of the presented protocol qualify it as an appropriate substitute to the modern techniques commonly used for the cmc determination.
