Eggs with a high percentage of yolk have a higher nutritional value, more flavor, and are more desirable to consumers. However, a large yolk proportion means more dry matter in the eggs, which reduces the feed efficiency. The elucidation of the genetic factors of yolk quantity in eggs is of scientific and practical significance. Through RNA sequencing, we explored the transcriptome of ovarian tissue from 12 Wenchang chickens, including 6 chickens that laid eggs with a high yolk percentage (32%) and 6 that laid low yolk percentage eggs (25%). We identified a total of 362 differentially expressed genes (P-value 1), of which 220 were upregulated and 142 were downregulated in high yolk percentage hens. According to the Gene Ontology terms annotation and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis, the differentially expressed genes were associated with the regulation of various cell functions, cell differentiation ae percentage of yolk in chicken eggs.The present study determined i) the presence of proteins (oviduct-specific glycoprotein, OVGP1; heat shock protein-70A, HSPA1A; heat shock protein-A8, HSPA8; annexin A1, ANXA1; annexin A5, ANXA5; and myosin-9, MYH9) known to be involved in early reproduction in the oviduct fluid (OF) of anestrous goats; and ii) the functional effect of during IVF on polyspermy modulation and embryonic development. In vitro-matured oocytes were co-cultured with spermatozoa (1.0, 2.0, or 4.0 x 106 cells/mL) for 18 h in SOF medium supplemented with 5 μg/mL of heparin, 4 μg/mL gentamicin, and 10% estrus sheep serum (CTRL1, CTRL2, and CTRL4 groups) or the same medium plus 10% OF (OF1, OF2, and OF4 groups) obtained from anestrus goats. The analysis of OF by western blotting confirmed the presence of the six proteins tested for. The increase in sperm concentration had no effect (P > 0.05) on the penetration rate in any group; however, monospermy rate decreased as sperm concentration was increased in both OF and CTRL. Regardless of the concentration used, when data were pooled, OF supplementation improved (P 0.05) by the sperm concentration and OF treatment, and the average values were cleavage (72 ± 2.6%), blastocyst (37 ± 3.0%), blastocyst in relation to the cleaved (51 ± 4.8%), hatched (62 ± 1.2%), and number of cells per blastocyst (174 ± 1.8%). In conclusion, the six proteins analyzed are present in the OF of anestrous goats, and the supplementation of this OF during IVF may modulate the polyspermy incidence and enhance IVF efficiency, especially when 1x106 sperm per mL is used.

We aim to establish an AI chronic rhinosinusitis evaluation platform 2.0 (AICEP 2.0) to obtain the proportion of inflammatory cells for cellular phenotyping diagnosis of nasal polyps and to explore the clinical significance of different phenotypes of nasal polyps on the WSI.

a total of 453 patients were enrolled in our study. For the development of AICEP 2.0, 179 patients (WSIs) were obtained from the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University (3HSYSU) from January 2008 to December 2018. A total of 24,625 patches were automatically extracted from the regions of interest under a 400× HPF by Openslide and the number of inflammatory cells in these patches was counted by two pathologists. For the application of AICEP 2.0 in a prospective cohort, 158 patients aged 14-70 years old with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) who had undergone endoscopic sinus surgery at 3HSytes% (r = -0.489, P less then 0.001), tissue neutrophils% (r = -0.225, P = 0.005), and tissue plasma cells% (r = -0.266, P = 0.001) in WSIs.
The onset and presentation of primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS) like any other autoimmune diseases can be triggered by unexpected lifetime stressful events, which require to be assessed in order to minimize our exposure to such events as much as possible.

The aim of the present study was to determine the possible role of socioeconomic status (SES) and stressful events in PPMS development METHODS The present population-based case-control study recruited PPMS cases and healthy controls from the general population during 2019-2020 in Tehran, Iran. Clinical diagnosis of cases was based on the 2017 McDonald criteria and confirmed by a neurologist. The selection of sex-matched controls from the same source population of cases was performed using the standard method of Random Digit Dialing (RDD). The study questionnaire was filled out over telephone interviews. Matched logistic regression was administered to estimate the adjusted and unadjusted odds ratio (OR) at 95% confidence intervals (CIs) adjust susceptible to PPMS. Self-rated health status score was higher in controls.
No stressful life events were identified as possible increasing risk factors for PPMS. Marriage, close family members' serious disease, and being in debt had a negative association with the disease risk. The history of depression may elevate the risk of PPMS. While the highest and lowest SES levels in adolescence were not remarkable determiners for PPMS, levels 2 and 7 had a positive association with the risk of PPMS.
