For risedronate, a delayed-release (DR) tablet was designed to solve the malabsorption problem in the presence of food, hence DR risedronate can be ingested following breakfast. For other oral bisphosphonates, the proper interval between drug and food, beverages, and dietary supplements intake should be maintained to minimize the risk of interactions. The effect of food on pharmacokinetic parameters of selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) was found to be clinically irrelevant.Risk assessment is a legal obligation for all companies in most countries worldwide. It aims to control the quality of working conditions and avoid externalizing the consequences of accidents and resulting costs to society. This work discusses the need for an adequate interpretation of the zero-risk concept from a technical-preventive perspective to assess occupational risks in construction sites. A critical analysis of several risk assessment methodologies was carried out, focusing on the evaluation criteria of little or no-risk situations. The verification of the results was made through a case study. The perception of health and safety risks by workers is very different from that of the evaluators. Often, when workers identify a situation as low-risk or even zero-risk, the evaluator assesses the same context as maximum risk. Given the workers' and the evaluators' responses, the Preventive Action Method establishes a new parameter, the Environment Congruence. This parameter is based on the perception of the preventive environment and gives more importance to the evaluators' decision. When preventive action is optimal, the risk is low in all preventive observation settings. In conclusion, this study justifies the non-nullity of the risk and the difficulty of assessing zero-risk in construction sites. Therefore, evaluations with qualitative and quantitative non-risk approaches should be discarded. The purpose of this work was to investigate the effect of cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) from bamboo fiber on the properties of poly (lactic acid) (PLA)/poly (butylene succinate) (PBS) composites fabricated by melt mixing at 175 °C and then hot pressing at 180 °C. PBS and CNC (0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.5 wt.%) were added to improvise the properties of PLA. The morphological, physiochemical and crystallinity properties of nanocomposites were analysed by field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD), respectively. The thermal and tensile properties were analysed by thermogravimetic analysis (TGA), Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Universal testing machine (UTM). PLA-PBS blend shows homogeneous morphology while the composite shows rod-like CNC particles, which are embedded in the polymer matrix. The uniform distribution of CNC particles in the nanocomposites improves their thermal stability, tensile strength and tensile modulus up to 1 wt.%; however, their elongation at break decreases. Thus, CNC addition in PLA-PBS matrix improves structural and thermal properties of the composite. The composite, thus developed, using CNC (a natural fiber) and PLA-PBS (biodegradable polymers) could be of immense importance as they could allow complete degradation in soil, making it a potential alternative material to existing packaging materials in the market that could be environment friendly.Dielectric elastomer (DE) is a type of electric field type electroactive polymer material that can produce greater deformation under the action of an electric field and has a faster recovery speed. It has the advantages of high energy density, large strain, low quality, and commercialization, and has become the most widely concerned and researched electroactive polymer material. In this study, copper calcium titanate (CCTO) particles with a large dielectric constant were selected as the filling phase, and a silicone rubber (PDMS) with better biocompatibility and lower elastic modulus was used as the matrix to prepare CCTO/PDMS, which is a new type of dielectric elastomer material. The structure of the dielectric elastomer is analyzed, and its mechanical properties, dielectric properties, and driving deformation are tested. Then, KH550, KH560, and KH570 modified CCTO is used in order to improve the dispersibility of CCTO in PDMS, and modified particles with the best dispersion effect are selected to prepare di results show that the improvement of dispersibility improves the dielectric constant. Compared with the unmodified PDMS, when the filling content is 20 wt%, the dielectric constant reaches 6.5 (100 Hz). Compared with PDMS, it has increased by 150%. However, the improvement of dispersion has a greater increase in the elastic modulus, resulting in a decrease in its strain parameters compared with CCTO/PDMS dielectric elastomers, and the electromechanical conversion efficiency has not been significantly improved. Binimetinib When the filling amount of modified CCTO particles is 5 wt%, the dielectric elastomer has the largest driving deformation, reaching 27.4%.Gold nanoparticles (GNPs) have been widely studied to inhibit differentiation into osteoclasts. However, reports of the inhibitory effects of silver nanoparticles (SNPs) during the process of differentiation into osteoclasts are rare. We compared the inhibitory effect of GNPs and SNPs during the process of differentiation into osteoclasts. Bone marrow-derived cells were differentiated into osteoclasts by the receptor activator of the nuclear factor-kappa-Β ligand (RANKL). The inhibitory effect of GNPs or SNPs during the process of differentiation into osteoclasts was investigated using tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) and actin ring staining. The formation of TRAP positive (+) multinuclear cells (MNCs) with the actin ring structure was most inhibited in the SNP group. In addition, the expression of specific genes related to the differentiation into osteoclasts, such as c-Fos, the nuclear factor of activated T-cells, cytoplasmic 1 (NFATc1), TRAP, and Cathepsin K (CTSK) were also inhibited in the SNP groups. As a result, the levels related to differentiation into osteoclasts were consistently lower in the SNP groups than in the GNP groups. Our study suggests that SNPs can be a useful material for inhibiting differentiation into osteoclasts and they can be applied to treatments for osteoporosis patients.
