Light availability is the most limiting environmental factor in tropical wet forest succession; by contrast, water availability is predicted to strongly influence tropical dry forest (TDF) successional dynamics. While mechanisms underlying TDF successional trajectories are not well understood, observational studies have demonstrated that TDF communities transition from being dominated by species with conservative traits to species with acquisitive traits, the opposite of tropical wet forest. Determining how functional traits predict TDF tree species' responses to changing environmental conditions could elucidate mechanisms underlying tree performance during TDF succession. We implemented a 6-hectare restoration experiment on a degraded Vertisol in Costa Rica to determine (1) how TDF tree species with different resource-use strategies performed along a successional gradient; and (2) hothan resource-use strategies defined by leaf and stem traits such as specific leaf area. Moreover, ecophysiological traits related to water-use had a stronger influence on seedling performance in the cleared, early-successional treatment, indicating that the influence of microclimatic conditions on tree survival and growth shifts predictably during TDF succession. Our findings suggest that ecophysiological traits should be explicitly considered to understand shifts in TDF functional composition during succession and that using these traits to design species mixes could greatly improve TDF restoration outcomes. All rights reserved.To investigate the ovarian and uterine blood flow responses, hemodynamic, circulating ovarian hormones and nitric oxide (NO) after end of treatment by Folltropin. Holstein Friesian (12) cows previously synchronized with CIDR underwent Doppler ultrasound after administrating of FSH daily for 4 days in 8 injections started on day 10 of the second ovulation (day -5). Estradiol (E2), progesterone (P4), and nitric oxide (NOMs) were measured. During the follicular phase, follicle area and antrum area of the second cycle reached maximum value on the day of ovulation compared to that in the first cycle, while during the luteal phase both showed a pattern of increase and decrease. The luteal area and total colored area increased till day 10 in the first and second cycle. The first cycle ipsilateral ovarian artery (Ov.A) had higher pulsatility (PI) (p = .001), resistance (RI) (p = .001), and peak velocity (PSV) (p = .009), and lower end diastolic (EDV) (p = .003) compared to the second cycle. The increased ipsilateral Ov.A PSV (p = .009), accompanied by lower EDV. The first cycle ipsilateral middle uterine artery (MUA) had higher PI (p = .001) and RI (p = .001), with lower PSV (p = .001) and EDV (p = .001).It was concluded that blood flow of ovarian and middle uterine arteries changed after the end of super stimulation as the increased ipsilateral Ov. All rights reserved.PURPOSE The purpose of this research was to verify the reliability and validity of the job crafting scale (JCS) among nurses in Chinese public hospitals. BACKGROUND Job crafting is an important organizational variable for medical institutions. Although Japanese and Spanish versions of the JCS are available, this scale has not been validated in Chinese nurses. METHODS A convenience sample of 2095 registered hospital nurses was recruited from 25 provinces in mainland China from June 2019 to July 2019. Descriptive analyses were performed. Reliability and correlation coefficient analyses, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analyses of data collected using the Chinese job crafting scale (C-JCS) were also calculated. FINDINGS The C-JCS has good validity and reliability. The goodness-of-fit indices for confirmatory factor analysis were acceptable (CFI = 0.933, NFI = 0.927, TLI = 0.920, IFI = 0.933). The total scale Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.920, and the coefficients for each dimension of this scale were between 0.804 and 0.894. find more CONCLUSION The C-JCS has good reliability and validity, which supports its use as an effective tool to measure the working level of job crafting among nurses in public hospitals in China. KGaA, Weinheim.Penis transplantation represents an exciting new avenue for restoration of male genitalia and function after devastating tissue loss. This animal model is designed to fill a critical void to study immunologic aspects related to reconstructive transplantation of male genitalia. A rat penile graft dissection was designed based on the internal pudendal arteries and dorsal penile vein and includes the skin of the prepuce. A non-suture cuff technique was used to anastomose the graft vessels to the recipient superficial epigastric and femoral vessels. 77 penile transplantations were performed. Graft design yields suitable caliber and length of vessels at the radix of the penis. Anastomosis of the dorsal penile vein and the internal pudendal arteries insures optimal graft perfusion. The non-suture cuff technique allows for successful microvascular anastomosis by a single surgeon with an average overall operative time of 2.5 hours. Long-term graft survival (>30 days) was observed in syngeneic transplants. We have established a robust murine model with ideal vascular perfusion of penile tissue to study the unique immunobiology of male genitourinary allotransplantation.
