SecMon team is responsible in maintaining the cloud infrastructure's security, availability and performance. Our purpose revolves around ensuring that the GCP environment is secure, system activities are logged and critical metrics are monitored for performance and security compliance.

All security log entries captured from GCP native applications is forward and stored in Google Cloud Storage Buckets as immutable copies in the CSO Secmon LZ for long term Security log retention. This is in support of CSO Operational functional needs such as Forensics investigations. Cloud Operations Logging would record the logs from multiple projects and folders to a central project owned log analytics service which is Google Cloud Storage. Exporting security related logs from GCP resources to Cloud Storage Bucket for long term retention and to BigQuery dataset for querying data.

A copy of all security log entries is forward and stored in an instance of Google BigQuery in the CSO Secmon LZ for high performance Security log analytics, like performance metrics, alerting and security events.
