High-serum γ-Glutamyl Transferase (GGT) activity has been associated with and thought to be a marker of maladaptation to training and possibly poor performance in racehorses, but the cause is unknown.
To investigate possible metabolic and infectious causes for the high GGT syndrome.
Pilot case-control study and nested case-control study.
The case-control study in 2017 included 16 horses (8 cases and 8 controls with median [range] serum GGT 82 [74-148] and 22 [19-28]IU/L, respectively) from the same stable. In 2018, similar testing was performed in a nested case-control study that identified 27 case (serum GGT 50≥IU/L)-control pairs from three stables for further testing. Serum liver chemistries, selenium measurements, viral PCR and metabolomics were performed.
No differences were found in frequency of detection of viral RNA/DNA or copy numbers for equine hepacivirus (EqHV) and parvovirus-hepatitis (EqPV-H) between cases and controls. Mild increases in hepatocellular injury and cholestatic markers ints pathophysiology. The Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche (MESR) is thanked for financial support for José Laxio Arenas. The China Scholarship Council is thanked for financial support for Yaochun Xu. The authors thank Pr. Vadim Soloshonok and TOSOH F-TECH, Inc. for the kind gift of N-terbutyl-sulfinylimine.
To explore the components of personal passports for people living with dementia in an acute healthcare setting.
Globally, supporting people with dementia poses a prominent health and social care challenge. Importance for people with dementia in an acute healthcare setting includes social relationships and communication with healthcare staff. A personal passport is an international initiative designed to support the personhood of the person living with dementia.
This integrative review is based on the methodology of Whittmore and Knafl (2005). click here The Preferred Reporting for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and checklist were adhered to. A database search of PubMed, MEDLINE, CINAHL, Scopus and EBSCO databases was systematically performed.
This integrative review identified nine research studies on the components of personal passports that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. A constant comparative method of data analysis identified five key pivotal themes person-centredness, communication, family/carer involvement, education and leadership.
The use of personal passports supports the provision of person-centred care for people living with dementia through enhancing the well-being of both the person and their families/caregivers.
Personal passports are an important document and should be determined by the person with dementia, their care needs and the caregiver's role in meeting these needs.

This systematic review evaluated evidence quality for exercise intervention in patients with cancer-related fatigue (CRF) during chemoradiotherapy to provide evidence-based clinical guidance.
Cancer-related fatigue is one of the most common symptoms in patients undergoing chemoradiotherapy. There is mounting evidence suggests exercise can relieve CRF and clinical practice guidelines for its management have been published in several countries. However, more specific exercise programmes need to be extracted to guide the clinical practice.
The review was presented by PRISMA guidelines. Research questions and strategies were established using evidence-based nursing criteria. Eleven websites and databases were searched. Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II, the JBI literature quality assessment tool, and the JBI evidence pre-classification and evidence recommendation level system were used.
Thirteen systematic reviews, four guidelines and one evidence summary were included. The overall guould be individualised, initiated at a low intensity and duration, and increased progressively.
Cancer-related fatigue status and exercise risk should be screened and evaluated throughout exercise interventions. Interventions should be individualised, initiated at a low intensity and duration, and increased progressively.
To use expert consensus to develop guidance for nurse leaders implementing e-health tools to support nursing work in hospitals.
Nurse leaders are increasingly required to make decisions about the selection, development, implementation and optimisation of e-health tools for nursing work in hospitals. Guidance in this rapidly evolving and complex space is limited.
A two-phase modified Delphi study.
Phase one involved in-depth interviews with five nursing informatics experts. Analysis used the qualitative framework method, informed by the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF), to develop statements for an anonymous online Delphi scoring survey. This was distributed using snowball sampling methods to Australian nurse informatics leaders and experts. Final analysis involved synthesis of qualitative and quantitative data. The study adheres to the COnsolidated criteria for REporting Qualitative research (COREQ) checklist.
Ten guidance statements to support nurse leaders to implement e-health tools in hospitaed to supporting nursing work. Nurse leaders can use the ten statements for guidance in the selection, development, implementation and optimisation of e-health tools to ensure suitability and adaptation for nursing work in hospitals.A large soft-cavity host composed of 1,4-diiodotetrafluorobenzene (DITFB) and 4-biphenylpyridine N-oxide (BPNO) is assembled under the mediation of a planar aromatic guest molecule (pyrene or perylene) through C-I⋅⋅⋅- O-N+ halogen bonds and π-hole⋅⋅⋅π bonds. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that guest molecules can be completely encapsulated in the four-layer host cavity to assemble ternary host-guest cocrystals; namely, Pyr@DITFB ⋅ BPNO and Per@DITFB ⋅ BPNO. The luminescence of these ternary cocrystals originates from their discrete guest molecules, which exhibit pure-blue and yellow emissions, respectively, that are localized at 425 nm and in the range of 485 to 578 nm, respectively. In addition, the contribution of different fragments to the stabilization of the crystal structure is estimated by computational chemistry. These cocrystals have significant potential for use in optical applications or materials, such as photonics or organic light-emitting diodes, respectively, that require to avoid the aggregation between luminophores.
