World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item lets players boost the gear rating of an item up 700 points and also add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like perfect rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. This bonus could exceed the damage that an upgrade alone can cause.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For example the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. While this is generally beneficial, it can have some negative effects as well. In the case of items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you get a lucky roll.
item upgrade can be upgraded to boost their performance. This can increase the defense of a chest or helm, while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it could reroll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will gain when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. However the 3% does not mean that it will be hit for 3 times less often because it's an absolute statistic.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that are circling. This will roll the item and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level or connect to the status of your account.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference to your survival. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the more health you'll receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game, and to unlock them all, you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in cold environments with a large number of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you're able to survive a battle with friends.
Be aware that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to focus on upgrading it for physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear to fight the final boss as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
You can also get some advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have some improvements to the chest armor and helmets that let you stealthy battle some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed provide the user with an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each with specific effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. Additionally the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount of XP. This can be obtained by making them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to choose the potion that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP total.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
There were a few changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For instance splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item). The table of potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. The same is true for using a potion within an empty cauldron. This will deplete the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
There are also simmering potions made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The potion table is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an object or ornament that serves a function but isn't important as a trinket. In some cultures a trinket is a way to show affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets unlike other items which can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with tokens, gold or fragments of trinkets that are rare.
Upgrades to trinkets are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new one. It can be done by a player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as previous one, and will come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Once the old Trinkets have become no longer useful, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players and are an extremely popular alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded then their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment they will not replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players, then they should upgrade their chest, helm, and shoulders.
Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl once they no longer have value, and the new trinket will have an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than buying the new one.
