Reset Your Apple ID Password on Devices
If you can't remember your Apple ID password, there are various methods available to reset it on devices you own. By taking one of these measures, you will gain access to all your apps, services and content again and can take back control over your account.

For optimal results, sign in to your Apple ID on a device you trust and use that to access your Apple ID account. Otherwise, an iPhone, iPad or Mac running iOS 15 or later or macOS Monterey or later may also help reset your Apple ID password. Alternatively, third-party security apps may help.

On the sign-in page, click Forgot Password or Forgot Apple ID to reset your password. Follow the onscreen instructions and verify your identity as required - such as providing a verification code or answering security questions - while notifications may also be sent directly to devices or emails trusted by you.

If you have enabled multi-factor authentication (MFA), be sure to activate the option that allows you to use a trusted phone number or email address as part of MFA and recover your Apple ID in case it becomes necessary. In many instances, this may be the only way to regain access if your password has been misplaced.

iforgot.apple.com Recovery keys provide another secure method, but require greater responsibility. They can be set up during initial setup or by following Apple's support page instructions for adding recovery contacts.

Change your Apple ID password securely while borrowing or in-store using a borrowed device by installing and using Apple Support on it - available free from the App Store on this borrowed or in-store device - from there you can reset it without worrying that friends, family or employees at stores could gain access to your information and reset your Apple ID password without accessing data stored there yourself. Unfortunately though, you won't be able to access any data stored there!
