Replacement UPVC Door Handles
If you're replacing your handles or want to add a bit of extra security, you'll choose the perfect handle for your door. These upvc handles are easy to fit and comply with the required 92mm centres for multipoint locks.
The backplate's fixing centre as well as the keyhole/lever dimensions are the most important measurements. Compare these measurements to your current marks before placing an order.
Lever/Pad
Lever pad handles are made up of a lever on one side, and a paddle-shaped handle on the other. These are designed to work with key wind locks, although they can also be adapted to split spindle multipoint door locks (though you will need a separate dual spindle lock case).
Our range of upvc handles lever pads are available in a variety of finishes and these will be displayed in the drop-down menu after you have selected the perfect handle for your door. Not all styles of handles are available in every finish and you should always look over the sizes and technical drawings for the particular product you are looking to ensure that you can get the right size and fit.
It is crucial that when selecting a new set of Upvc lever pad handles, they match the PZ (distance from the spindle of the handle to the center of the hole of the cylinder) of your multipoint door locks. This is because they must be lined up for the doors to stay locked, whether you are looking from the inside or from the outside. Our handles are designed to fit a wide range of conventional cylinders, but it is important to double-check prior to purchasing.
You'll need to remove your existing handles and dismantle the lock case if you are upgrading to dual spindle levers for your handle since this will require a split cylinder inline. These can be bought separately and we have the complete technical diagram to take a look at in the pictures for each product.
It is recommended to loosen the screws holding your existing door handle and then examine the mechanism. You may need to loosen the screws a bit more in the event that they are not tight, and then you can remove the old spindle and handle and replace it with a new door handle made of upvc. door handle lock repair is crucial to make sure that the handle is in the right position before installing it. You can do this by placing your finger between the frame and the handle to ensure that it's level.
Lever/Lever
The lever handles for doors are used to operate a multi-point lock that uses a Euro cylinder. They are found on many upvc double doors as well as some wooden and aluminium doors. They feature a lever inside and a paddle on the outside and are usually supplied in two different types. Sprung - These include a spring cassette installed within the backplate to help bring the handle lever into a horizontal position. Non-sprung: These do not include a mechanism that can spring the handle lever into a horizontal position.
To repair a door handle lever that is sagging you'll need to locate the detent access pin or hole. It's usually small, protruding ring or rectangular located on the handle base plate. Once you have located the detent access hole or pin, you can remove it with a screwdriver.
When the handle is in a horizontal orientation, you can re-install the screws and tighten them to make sure the handle is secure on the base plate. Consider applying a threadlocking solution to the screw threads in order to increase grip and stop them from loosening over time.
There are a myriad of reasons why door handles of levers droop. The most frequent cause is that the fixings aren't tight, causing the lever bearing to pull against the door. It could also be that the levers haven't been adjusted at the right angle, which compresses the latch mechanism and stops it from fully springing into motion.
A common cause of a sprung lever not working properly is the spring not being in the proper position on the backplate. To check whether the handle has returned to its horizontal position, simply turn it.
If your door handles are loose, it is crucial to find the issue fast, as it could cause excessive wear on the screws and eventually to the handle falling off the base plate. You should also tighten any loose screws on a regular basis to stop them from becoming looser.
Lever/Snib
The handles for doors made of upvc are also referred to as 'Snib' handles and have a snib button on the top of the lever that you can push down to lock your door in the event that you don't have the Dummy lock. These door handles are fitted with the Fullex lock 68PZ. (68mm between spindle and the lock centre). We also stock a range of door handles with 68PZ from brands like Ferco and Fab & Fix.
You can upgrade your home by changing the door handles whether you are replacing the handles on your existing ones or installing new ones on doors that you have constructed. There are a variety of door handles made from upvc available that include traditional levers on backplate, straight or curving short latches, and dummy knob handles for multi-point locks, which are perfect for French doors.
Rose door handles are circular or oval-shaped versions of lever-on-backplate handles. These door handles are characterized by a lever or knob that is mounted on a backplate. The backplate is removable for hidden fixing.
These handles are available in various finishes, including chrome and coloured finishes, to be matched to your door and hardware like knobs, bolts and hinges. Some handles have a grub screw to attach the lever or knob firmly to the spindle. Some handles come with bathroom spindles, which can be used to make bathroom locks. They also have a thumbturn release mechanism, and can be used on bathroom doors.
Mortise
If your front door's uPVC handle is stuck in the open position, the problem will most likely be with the tubular latch. There are a few reasons for this, one of which is the simple lack of lubrication on the latch plate. This can be corrected quickly by opening the door and spraying lubricant over the handle and lock. It could also be that the latch is loose from the backplate. This is a more difficult issue that requires the help of a professional.
A multipoint door handle is an ideal solution to the problem of a stuck door handle. These handles are attached to the faceplate and operated by either a thumb turn or key knob that activates the cam that locks the deadbolt. The handles are available in a variety of different sizes to fit various types of uPVC doors. They also come in an array of attractive finishes that match existing hardware. The handles are available via the internet or at the local locksmith. They are easy to install and come with clear directions.
You will need to know the PZ size of your cylinder in order to choose the correct replacement handle set. This is the distance in millimetres between the inside edge of the door frame and the center of the handle hole. You'll also need the type of lock that is installed on your door, irrespective of whether it's a mortise or hook lock. Once you have these measurements, the simplest method to determine the right handles is to use the filter by brand option on the website. This will narrow down your choices and allow you to choose the right size from the list.
A typical set of handles includes the handle unit comprising two screws of different lengths, drill guides, and installation instructions. Smarter versions, such as the Igloohome Smart Mortise 2+ include a mortice lock with keypad. These are more sophisticated models and are ideal for professional installers or very adept DIYers. Certain handle sets come with various accessories, like weather strips that can be used to enhance appearance of the door.
