With the rapid development of networks in China, the Internet has become an important source of first aid information for scalds. As a country with the largest population, there are a large number of scald cases every year in China. The content analysis of websites aimed to assess the accuracy and quality of the information on scalds available on Chinese websites.

Using keywords related to scald in the most popular Chinese search engines, 19 sites were eventually selected for evaluation based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. These websites were assessed on quality and content accuracy by using HONcode, DISCERN, and Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool (PEMAT) evaluation scales, and a modified evaluation system based on the system developed by J.D. Burgess. The evaluation was completed by a 5-person evaluation team. The subjective items were reviewed by five independent reviewers. The objective items were recorded by one reviewer, then another checked the results.

Using "scald first aid," , and their website quality and accuracy need to be further improved.
The websites established by government agencies and non-profit organizations are few, and most of the websites are established by commercial companies. Compared with the government agency website, these commercial websites contain many advertisements, and their website quality and accuracy need to be further improved.Mammals perceive a multitude of odorants by their chemical sense of olfaction, a high-dimensional stimulus-detection system, with hundreds of narrowly or broadly tuned receptors, enabling pattern recognition by the brain. Cognate receptor-agonist information, however, is sparse, and the role of broadly tuned odorant receptors for encoding odor quality remains elusive. Here, we screened IL-6-HaloTag®-OR2W1 and haplotypes against 187 out of 230 defined key food odorants using the GloSensor™ system in HEK-293 cells, yielding 48 new agonists. Altogether, key food odorants represent about two-thirds of now 153 reported agonists of OR2W1, the highest number of agonists known for a mammalian odorant receptor. In summary, we characterized OR2W1 as a human odorant receptor, with a chemically diverse but exclusive receptive range, complementary to chemical subgroups covered by evolutionary younger, highly selective receptors. Our data suggest OR2W1 to be suited for participating in the detection of many foodborne odorants. The objective of the work was to formulate, characterize and evaluate the stability of a product based on white cachama (Piaractus brachypomus). From four lipid sources (pork back fat, canola oil, olive oil or sacha inchi oil), the one with the highest acceptance rate was selected based on the acceptance index and sensory characteristics. The formulation was optimized using the response surface method; 15 formulations were used in triplicate, evaluating the pH, moisture, colour and sensory acceptance values. The macronutrient composition and lipid profile of the optimal formulation was determined; its stability was evaluated under refrigeration conditions by measuring lipid and protein degradation, changes in colour, texture, changes at the microbiological and sensory levels. It was found an optimal proportion of inclusion of 50% white cachama pasta, 21% canola oil and 23% water. The stability of the final product obtained was 42 days, with 82% of acceptability index. This product could be an alternative to other pâté-type products from other species. In head and cancer (HNC), osteoradionecrosis (ORN) is one of the most significant complications of radiotherapy (RT). Epacadostat With an absence of effective non-surgical treatment, prevention of the development of ORN is the best approach. The purpose of this study was to identify the risk factors for the development of ORN in HNC. Records of 1,118 patients with HNC treated with radical RT (≥55Gy) from January 2010 to December 2019 were reviewed. After applying the exclusion criteria, 935 patients were included in the final analysis. In patients with confirmed ORN, exact RT doses were mapped. In total, 91 patients were found (9.7%) with a median (range) time of eight (3-89) months to the development of ORN. Smoking, having a primary site in the oropharynx, bone surgery before adjuvant RT, the addition of concurrent chemotherapy, the presence of xerostomia, dental extraction pre-RT, the time ≤20 days between dental extraction and start of RT, and receiving >55Gy RT dose were significant factors for its development. This comprehensive analysis including the precise RT dose mapping has shown the risk factors for the development of ORN. In practice, every effort should be made to avoid these risk factors without compromising the oncology treatment. The findings of this analysis may provide a basis for future prospective research on this topic.
This study aimed to assess the health-related QoL (HR-QoL) of patients with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), with emphasis on the role/social aspects, and validate the Japanese version of the epistaxis severity score (ESS) in these patients.

The Japanese version of the ESS was created through forward and reverse translation, and consultation with the original author. A validation analysis was performed by comparing ESS severity with the invasiveness of previous treatments for epistaxis and assessing the correlation between the ESS and HR-QoL. Medical history forms, ESS questionnaires, and the Medical Outcomes Study Short Form 36 (SF-36) were distributed to participants with HHT in August 2020. The relation between the ESS and summary scores of SF-36 was assessed by performing analysis of variance and Spearman's correlation.

In total, 73 participants were included in this study. The average ESS was 5.02; there were mild (32.9%), moderate (45.2%), and severe (21.9%) epistaxis groups. Patients with higher ESS received a significantly more invasive treatment (Fisher's exact test, p<0.05). The ESS was also negatively correlated with the physical component score (PCS) (r=-0.489, p<0.001). Comorbid liver and gastrointestinal arteriovenous malformations significantly reduced the PCS (p<0.05). Multiple regression analysis revealed that the ESS was a significant variable (p<0.01). The role/social component score was significantly lower in the severe ESS group than in the mild or moderate group.

The Japanese version of the ESS was considered valid and may be useful as an outcome measure of future HHT-associated epistaxis trials in Japan.

Allosteric modulation of many drug targets, including mainly membrane-embedded receptors, have been vastly explored through small molecule screening campaigns, but much less attention has been paid to peptide-based allosteric modulators. However, peptides have a significant impact on the pharmaceutical industry due to the typically higher potency and selectivity for their targets, as compared with small molecule therapeutics. Therefore, peptides represent one of the most promising classes of molecules that can modulate key biological pathways. Here, we report on the allosteric modulation of proteins (ranging from G protein-coupled receptors to specific protein-protein interactions) by peptides for applications in drug discovery. There is a sizeable but unfilled need for drug delivery systems that prolong the duration of action and reduce the systemic toxicity of local anesthetics. Inspired by the interactions of anesthetics with their natural binding sites on sodium channels, Ji et al. designed self-assembled nanostructures that achieve specific delivery and sustained release of anesthetics. This article will address the main aspects of skin manifestations associated with COVID-19, based on a review of the literature published to date. Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 1,500 articles have been published on the subject. Regarding the pathophysiology, it is believed that the same mechanisms responsible for the disease in the main target organs also act in the skin, although they are not yet fully elucidated. The actual frequency of dermatological manifestations remains uncertain - it can range from 0.2% to 45%, being close to 6% in systematic reviews. Pioneering studies of large case series conducted in European countries and the USA provide the first information on the main skin manifestations associated with COVID-19 and propose classifications regarding their clinical presentation, pathophysiology, as well as their frequencies. Although there is yet no consensus, maculopapular eruptions are considered the most frequent presentations, followed by erythema pernio-like (EPL) lesions. Manifestations such as urticaria, vesicular conditions and livedo/purpura/necrosis are rare. The time of onset, severity, need for specific treatment and prognosis vary according to the clinical presentation pattern. The increasing histopathological description of skin conditions can contribute to the diagnosis, as well as to the understanding of the pathophysiology. Also, in the dermatological field, the relationship between COVID-19 and androgens has been increasingly studied. Despite all the generated knowledge, the actual biological meaning of skin manifestations remains uncertain. Therefore, the exclusion of the main differential diagnoses is essential for the correlation between skin manifestation and COVID-19.The COVID-19 pandemic triggered an economic shock just ten years after the shock of the 2008 global financial crisis. Economic shocks are a challenge for health systems because they reduce government revenue at the same time as they increase the need for publicly financed health care. This article explores the resilience of health financing policy to economic shocks by reviewing policy responses to the financial crisis and COVID-19 in Europe. It finds that some health systems were weakened by responses to the 2008 crisis. Responses to the pandemic show evidence of lessons learnt from the earlier crisis but also reveal weaknesses in health financing policy that limit national preparedness to face economic shocks, particularly in countries with social health insurance schemes. These weaknesses highlight where permanent changes are needed to strengthen resilience in future countries will have to find ways to reduce cyclicality in coverage policy and revenue-raising; increase the priority given to health in allocating public spending; and ensure that resources are used to meet equity and efficiency goals. Although many health systems are likely to face budgetary pressure in the years ahead, the experience of the 2008 crisis shows that austerity is not an option because it undermines resilience and progress towards universal health coverage.
