We investigated the interrater reliability (IRR) and the concurrent validity of the RSVP in the Republic of Korea. A total of 32 experienced and specially trained correctional psychologists in teams of four used an authorized translation of the RSVP to independently assess 47 adult male sexual offenders through a case history review and interviews. IRR, as indexed using intraclass correlations coefficients, was typically good to excellent for rating the presence and relevance of risk factors. Concurrent validity was also good, as indexed by correlations between RSVP ratings and total scores on two instruments for assessing risk for sexual violence the Hallym Assessment Guide for Sex Offender Risk and Static-99R. Implications for the use of the RSVP by professionals and agencies, both within and outside Korea, are discussed.Background Performing dual-tasks is often required for completing activities of daily living. Limited research investigated the effects of dual-tasking on gait in people with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Purpose To investigate the effects of cognitive tasks on gait in people with TBI Methods Seven individuals with TBI and nine controls completed walking under three conditions; usual walking, walking with questions and answers, and walking with word generation while 3D motion analysis system captured gait. Results Significant group x condition interactions were found in which TBI group showed greater changes in speed (p less then .01), cadence (p = .07), and ankle kinematics (p = .03) as cognitive task became more complex from usual walking to walking with word generation. TBI group decreased speed (p = .02), stride length (p = .01), and hip kinematics (p = .03) as concurrent task became more complex. The control showed decreases in speed (p = .01), stride length (p = .01), and joint kinematics in the hip (p = .03) and knee (p = .01) as the complexity of concurrent cognitive task increased. Conclusion People with TBI have greater difficulty walking with a cognitive task and show greater compromises in gait performance as the task complexity increases when compared to those without TBI. Clinicians should consider the use of progression in cognitive tasks for dual-task gait training.
Voice familiarity has been reported to reduce cognitive load in complex listening environments. The extent to which the reduction in listening effort allows for mental resources to be reallocated to other complex tasks needs further investigation. We sought to answer whether a familiar audiobook narrator provides benefits to (1) listening comprehension and/or (2) driving performance.
A double-blind between-groups design was implemented. Participants were randomly assigned to the Familiar group or the Unfamiliar group.
Participants (
= 30) were normal-hearing adults, 18 to 28-years-old (M = 23, SD = 2.6) (
= 18 female). Participants first listened to an audiobook read by either Voice 1 (Familiar condition) or Voice 2 (Unfamiliar condition). Then they completed a virtual reality driving task while listening to a second audiobook, always read by Voice 1. Audiobook comprehension (30-question multiple-choice test) and driving performance (number of driving errors made) were recorded.
Participants in the Familiar group made fewer driving errors than participants in the Unfamiliar group. There were no differences in listening comprehension.

The aim of this study was to investigate the psychometrics of the Swedish version of the Child and Adolescent Trauma Screen (CATS). This was to obtain access to an international instrument to identify symptoms of post-traumatic stress in children and adolescents according to the new Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders, 5th edition (DSM-5).
A total of 591 young Swedish schoolchildren aged 13-17 years old were given the CATS together with the Trauma Symptom Checklist for Children (TSCC), and the Linköping Youth Life Experience Scale (LYLES-Y). A clinical group of 42 children who had experienced a potential trauma was also given the same questionnaires. Statistical analyses were carried out for the purpose of reliability, different kinds of validity, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) concerning the construct of the CATS.
The CATS showed good internal consistency on all four subscales from
