ulate cell proliferation, migration, and inflammatory response on porcine enterocytes.
This study was to explore the research status and research hotspots of ferritinophagy in the past eight years.
Relevant papers on ferritinophagy from 2014 to 2021 was retrieved from the science citation extended database of the Web of Science. Through the application of bibliometrics research methods and bibliometrics analysis software VOSviewer to extract, analyze and visualize journals, authors, research institutions and keywords, to clarify the hot spots and development history of peritoneal dialysis research.
A total of 134 studies were screened and included in this study. Overall, the output of ferritinophagy research had fluctuated in the past 8 years. China's research on ferritinophagy had the largest number of published articles. The United States still maintained a leading position in research in this field, and its citation frequency, H-index and funding output are all at the forefront. Among them, international cooperation with relevant institutions was also more frequent. Ferritinophagy was currently mainly focused on cell biology. Tumor research might be the next major clinical research direction in this field. The related research on oxidative stress pathways, cell death methods, and nuclear receptor co-activator 4 (NCOA4) in the field of ferritinophagy were current research hotspots.
It could be understanding the research status and hotspots of ferritinophagy in the world more clearly and intuitively by using the bibliometric method.

The progression and metastasis mechanisms of cancer are complex, including metabolic disorders, oxidative stress, inflammation, apoptosis, and intestinal microflora disorders. These pose significant challenges to our efforts to prevent and treat cancer and its metastasis. Natural drugs have a long history of use in the prevention and treatment of cancer. Many effective anti-tumor drugs, such as Paclitaxel, Vincristine, and Camptothecin, have been widely prescribed for the prevention and treatment of cancer. In recent years, a trend in the field of antitumor drug development has been to screen the active antitumor ingredients from natural drugs and conduct in-depth studies on the mechanisms of their antitumor activity. In this review, high-frequency keywords included in the literature of several common Chinese and English databases were analyzed. The results showed that five Chinese herbal medicines (Radix Salviae, Panax Ginseng C. A. Mey, Hedysarum Multijugum Maxim, Ganoderma, and Curcumaelongae Rhizoma) and three natural compounds (quercetin, luteolin, and kaempferol) were most commonly used for the prevention and treatment of cancer and cancer metastasis. The main mechanisms of action of these active compounds in tumor-related research were summarized. Finally, we found that four natural compounds (dihydrotanshinone, sclareol, isoimperatorin, and girinimbin) have recently attracted the most attention in the field of anti-cancer research. Our findings provide some inspiration for future research on natural compounds against tumors and new insights into the role and mechanisms of natural compounds in the prevention and treatment of cancer and cancer metastasis.
Although the mesenteric artery plays a key role in regulating peripheral blood pressure, the molecular mechanisms that underlie the development of essential hypertension are not yet fully understood.
We explored candidate genes for hypertension using three related strains of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) that mimic human essential hypertension. In this study we used DNA microarrays, a powerful tool for studying genetic diseases, to compare gene expression in the mesenteric artery of three SHR substrains SHR, stroke-prone SHR (SHRSP), and malignant SHRSP (M-SHRSP).
Compared to normotensive 6-week old Wistar Kyoto rats (WKY), higher blood pressure correlated with overexpression of 31 genes and with down regulation of 24 genes.

Ubiquitination is one of the most common post-translational modifications in cells and dysregulation is closely associated with the development of cancer. However, a comprehensive analysis of the role of ubiquitination in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is still lacking. In this study we analyzed expression and prognostic value of Ubiquitin-Specific Proteases (USPs) in HCC, and the immunological role of
in HCC.
Expression data, prognostic data, and DNA methylation data in cases of HCC were obtained from the cancer genome atlas (TCGA). Overexpression of
in HCC was confirmed in the gene expression omnibus (GEO) database and verified by quantitative PCR in 10 pairs of HCC samples. ULCAN was used to analyze the correlation between
and clinicopathological features. selleck compound TIMER2.0 and DriverDBv3 were used to analyze the
mutational profile. GSEA analysis explored the potential signaling pathways of
affecting HCC. The immune and stromal scores of HCC samples were calculated using the ESTIMATE algorithm. Tcal application value.
Most USPs are abnormally expressed in HCC. Overexpression of USP36 in HCC is closely related to poor prognosis. In particular, the unique immunological role of USP36 may have potential clinical application value. On a global scale, colorectal cancer (CRC) is currently the fourth most commonly diagnosed cancer and despite progress in early diagnosis and treatment has the third highest mortality. Patients with oligometastatic disease to the liver may be suitable for liver resection with a curative intent. A sustained progress in perioperative management and surgical techniques, including staged liver resections, has increased the number of patients who may be offered hepatectomy. It is well recognised that early detection of any tumour, including recurrence, leads to a timely initiation of treatment with improved outcomes. Tumour biomarkers have long been desired in the search for a tool to aid cancer diagnosis, prognosis and follow-up. Currently, the only widely used biomarker for CRC, Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA), has multiple limitations, clearly illustrating the need for novel biomarkers. It is therefore unsurprising that much research has focused on identifying such markers with the literature being swamped with new and promising biomarkers. The aim of this study is to review the current status and role of circulating biomarkers in patients post hepatectomy for colorectal cancer metastasis including alternative cancer antigens to CEA, extracellular vesicles, circulating microRNA, circulating tumour cells and circulating tumour DNA.
Drug design is one of the important applications of biological science. Extensive studies have been done on computer-aided drug design based on inverse quantitative structure activity relationship (inverse QSAR), which is to infer chemical compounds from given chemical activities and constraints. However, exact or optimal solutions are not guaranteed in most of the existing methods.
Recently a novel framework based on artificial neural networks (ANNs) and mixed integer linear programming (MILP) has been proposed for designing chemical structures. This framework consists of two phases an ANN is used to construct a prediction function, and then an MILP formulated on the trained ANN and a graph search algorithm are used to infer desired chemical structures. In this paper, we use linear regression instead of ANNs to construct a prediction function. For this, we derive a novel MILP formulation that simulates the computation process of a prediction function by linear regression.
For the first phase, we performed computational experiments using 18 chemical properties, and the proposed method achieved good prediction accuracy for a relatively large number of properties, in comparison with ANNs in our previous work. For the second phase, we performed computational experiments on five chemical properties, and the method could infer chemical structures with around up to 50 non-hydrogen atoms.
Combination of linear regression and integer programming is a potentially useful approach to computational molecular design.

Young adults with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) occasionally exhibit specific abdominal symptoms, including abdominal pain associated with brain activity patterns. Decoded neural feedback (DecNef) is a biofeedback exercise that allows symptomatic people to exercise self-control over their brain activity patterns relative to those without symptoms. Thus, DecNef can be used to self-control abdominal pain in patients with IBS. To establish a DecNef practice for IBS, it is necessary to develop a classifier that can distinguish the electroencephalography (EEG) patterns (EEG signatures) of IBS between symptomatic and healthy people. Additionally, the accuracy of the "classifier" must be evaluated.
This study analyzed EEG data obtained from symptomatic and asymptomatic young adults with IBS to develop a support vector machine-based IBS classifier and verify its usefulness. EEG data were recorded for 28 university students with IBS and 24 without IBS. EEG data were frequency-analyzed by fast Fourier transform analysis, and IBS classifiers were created by supervised learning using a support vector machine.
The diagnostic accuracy of IBS symptoms was verified for the whole brain and the frontal, parietal, and occipital regions. We estimated >90% accuracy of the IBS classifier in the whole brain and frontal region.
The results of this study suggest that EEG data can be used to determine the presence or absence of IBS symptoms. With the IBS classifier, EEG may help provide feedback regarding the presence or absence of symptoms to patients, which is the basis for developing self-management strategies for IBS.

Tomato is an important part of daily food, rich source of multitude nutrients, suitable candidate for bio-pharmaceutical production due to berry size and has numerous health benefits. Transcriptional regulation of metalloregulatory heat shock protein-70 family plays pivotal role in plants tolerance against abiotic stress factors including salinity, heat, cold, drought and trace metal elements such as cadmium (Cd2+).
Here, we provide comprehensive report on
identification of
family genes in tomato (
) and their expression in tomato
qPCR analysis under broad range of trace metal elements.
analysis revealed 23
family genes in tomato, phylogenetically divided into four groups I-IV and displayed expression in all tissues. Gene Ontology (GO) analysis revealed that SlHSP70 proteins were membrane localized which were involved in metal ions translocation and oxidoreductase activity to counter hyper-accumlation of reactive oxygen species (ROS).
Cd2+ is a widespread heavy metal soil contaminent which is continously polluting fertile soils, a knotty issue which has serious implications over photosynthesis, nitrogen assimilation, minerals and water absorption by plants.
