Theorie van Sartre:
Met het 'bezitten' van een mensenlijk lichaam is de mens nog niet af, nog niet wat hij als mens zou moeten zijn. Mens heeft de morele plicht om zichzelf als verantwoordeijk wezen te realiseren.
Centraal begrip is de term 'vrijheid'. daarin onderscheidt de mens zich van een dier. Mens kan/moet kiezen in situaties en mag zich niet verschuilen achter bijv. omstandigheden.
Hiermee verwijt Sartre naar WO II, waarbij mensen zich begriepen op zaken als bevelen en dreigementen. Mensen hebben altijd een keuze, al is die keuzen niet altijd positief/gunstig.
