How To Get More Results With Your Item Upgrade
Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, also called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment gives a linear increase in any stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling items scales according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished through a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or by increasing an item's rarity or mark level. Many items can also be reforged in order to increase their stats.

Upgradable items can be found in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. The main way to upgrade equipment is by making use of upgrade components which are the items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has slots that can be upgraded, and many require a certain amount of upgrade. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses while others give a general bonus.

There are many types of upgrade components available in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be placed in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than those that are type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing additional crafting materials.

Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen. It will show the expected stats after the upgrade. If you do not have enough of either, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.

The number of upgrade components needed for a specific item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases with the upgrade level and rarity, but can be reduced by many different methods, including purchasing upgrades at a merchant or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be improved by a prefix such as a rune, or an insignia. Other weapons can be enhanced by adding the suffix. These upgrades change the name of the item and add an adjective, such as "Radiant" or "Minor vigor.' The exceptions are the noninscribable wands, shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any mods at all.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They are animated to draw the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, making them even more effective at conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph has a range of values it can increase a stat's value in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph can enhance a stat by but not the amount it will actually increase the stat by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the product you are in awe of.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items are not able to be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you do have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of equipment by utilizing the upgrade Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.

When you remove an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards of the glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. For example the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly instead of all at once. This is beneficial for players who take a lot damage from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes that are placed on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, including mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an unspecified affix, which is typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens are also a good option to reroll stats on weapons, which can be upgraded to provide better damage or other perks.

Rerolled items are not listed on the menu for upgrade options, however they can still be upgraded. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is based on the item's rarity and also its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable for recycling than those with lower levels.

In addition to tokens for rerolls, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls roll the % chance of a particular weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be repeatedly rolled up to three times.

Rerolling is an excellent way to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl will be reduced by the number that it took to reroll it to the final level. This effect is most evident on rings and Diadems, since they have no other options to raise the ilvl.

Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's more fair to allow people to pay for it using money or food items that allows players to make changes to their builds without having to invest excessive amounts of time. However the paid rerolls aren't something that the developers would like to implement at this point in the game's development. Instead, they're planning to include a race change potion in the near future.

Leveling

There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of upgrading a given stat. The second is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which increases the healing or damage of a particular stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. After this, the new item will retain its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.

When you upgrade items It is crucial to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In the majority of cases the best roll will be derived from glyphs, but there are also possibilities for more or unique rolls. Additionally the iLevel of an upgrade will be determined by the item type which means that when you upgrade a rare or unique item to an extraordinary type it will have a chance to achieve a higher iLevel.

Upgrades can be expensive Particularly if you're upgrading equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The price will be based on the item's base iLevel and the number of upgrade levels it comes with. Certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next level.

If you're lucky, your upgraded item may get to the top of its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level though. In general the effect of upgrading is increased by a value of +3.

Depending on item upgrades and its upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change as well. For example the weapon that has been upgraded from a unique or rare to an extraordinary item will have a chance to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base type of item.
