World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade feature for items allows players to upgrade their existing equipment. This can be accomplished by any upgrader for items NPC.
Upgrades boost the stats of an item, and can also add additional features based on the type of item. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs or Goldwrap for caster builds.
Armour
Armour is among the key things that keeps Link protected from damage in all situations. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it can be improved in various ways to increase its defence capabilities.
Armour is designed to shield animals or people from injury or harm, whether it's from a direct physical attack or from a variety of activity or environmental hazards. In the past, armour was typically made from fabric or leather however later, metal protections were also used, especially in military applications like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
As with weapons, there are a number of ways that armour can be upgraded, but the majority of them require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a unique level of upgrades, with more granting greater levels of protection and require a higher price in rupees and materials to unlock.
The first thing to note about Armor Upgrades is that they are permanent upgrades which means that once they've been applied they cannot be replaced unless you own another piece of equipment that comes with the same upgrade. It is crucial to only apply the highest level of upgrades to your equipment and that you have the materials needed to complete the process.
In terms of acquiring the upgrade components needed, you'll find them in a variety of places around Hyrule including merchants, shrines as well as enemies. They are typically marked with a blue triangle or a gold circle symbol and are found in huge quantities as you progress through. While they might appear randomly, there is the possibility that acquiring certain upgrade components will lead to quests that reward you with more.
It is also important to note that even though the amount of protection provided by each upgrade differs but it's the same across all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. A full set of upgraded armor will give you a strong defense boost that protects you from all types of attacks, except magic. This makes it an effective weapon for any class.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades that create a truly unique weapon. These can increase damage, change the weapon's stats in order to adapt to your specific build, and even unlock new attachments such as unique enchantments, ammo types, and aesthetic options.
You'll need both the upgrade component and the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon should be at or near a certain level before you can upgrade it. Most weapons only accept a single upgrade.
You can find weapons upgrade components scattered across the globe and from the hands of enemies or purchased from vendors. The upgrade components themselves are a mix of ingredients that can be put into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools to grant an attribute bonus or extra effect while they're in use. They require that the equipment be of a certain degree to allow the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mix of Smithing Stones and Runes, and are used for enhancing the base stats of a weapon, and also to increase its scalability with other stats. These upgrades can be purchased from enemies in the open or from merchants. They can also be dropped by combat.
There are two NPCs that can upgrade your weapons: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
Prioritize upgrading your most-used slot items first. Then upgrade those that you're not likely to replace in the near future. If you're planning to play in a melee-based build, for example, upgrade your weapon, then your chest and shoulders, then your feet and hands. The same principle goes for Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some products may be superior to others, based on your style of play. The same is true for Armour Reforges, with certain types being superior to others.
item upgrader is able to upgrade only one magic item. If an upgrade plan is cancelled, any subsequent upgrades for the item won't begin. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to create or purchase, however they may provide other benefits.
A magical item is any item with special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but there are some that include armor, shields, cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings, and other items. Some of these items may be converted into a sentient.
Most magical items can be upgraded to become infused with additional abilities. This makes them more useful to a player or help them overcome a difficult encounter. A weapon that contains an ingredient that is unique could, for instance, provide an extra level of damage to a particular type of enemy. This is especially beneficial for those who have reached the level that they're likely to face a single type of monster repeatedly in dungeons.
An infused ring might confer protection against piercing, bludgeoning or slashing damages from nonmagical attacks (not including silvered ones) until the next time the character takes a long rest. This can be particularly helpful for melee fighters, or any character who would like to get rid of the cost and hassle of purchasing a shield.
Certain enchanted objects possess special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that are not in their class list. This is useful for characters that have difficulties maintaining their spell slots because of multiclassing. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana), and the spell is determined by rolling a table based upon the number of Intelligence points spent.
Other enchanted items might let the user change their appearance, or create an entirely new one. These items can be especially useful for characters that are forced to leave their home, or are in a location that they might not be accepted. An item that is magical can grant them an invisibility effect, or perhaps make them invisible to anyone other than a selected person.
Utility Items
Utility items are anything that doesn't fall under the categories of clothing or armor and have a variety of capabilities. They are not compatible with each other, as opposed to weapons or armor. Most utility items have a passive effect that the player can activate when using them. However, some have additional abilities which are activated by pressing a button or activating an ability.
Generally, the most common kind of utilitarian item is the Flashlight that illuminates the surrounding area. Other items of utility include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow players to fly in the air while moving, and the Jetpack, which allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section you can quickly create a variety of utilitarian items, whereas others are unlocked by research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to the items that are available in their normal inventory by purchasing them at the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded to allow greater effectiveness.
The majority of utility items give the player an advantage in navigation or enhance a specific combat ability. For example, Sharpening stones crafted by the Weaponsmith increase Ferocity and Power, while Maintenance Oils crafted by the Huntsman improve Concentration and Healing Power. Other utility items such as Writs or Theses crafted by the Scribe can be utilized to give the player either a boost in damage or condition damage.
All XCOM soldiers can equip a utilitarian item at the start of the campaign. Eventually, an additional slot becomes available by equipping certain types of armor or by completing engineering, research or other projects in the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are created by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which lets the player equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade can be placed in the main grenade slot.
